Which SF first on Friday?

Normally it should be Nole-Fed, but because this is the more interesting semifinal maybe they will put first Rafa with Andy. What do you think? Anybody heard sth?

The rule at RG is the half which started first gets first match unlike USO. But I see in the women's draw they didn't keep this rule as tomorrow SHA is first.

I reckon Nole might request to go first since he hasn't played in so long and wouldn't want to prolong the wait, but who knows.

Well if NBC has any say Djoker/Fed will be 2nd SF. Not sure how much pull they have when no American is playing.

I hate NBC coverage. Sometimes they won't even show the first match at all. They would love if Fed goes first then they show the whole match tape delay and ignore the live Rafa match. NBC ruins watching live tennis for Americans.

Hopefully Nadal-Murray, so that when NBC kicks on, I can watch the Fed-Nole showdown in its entirety.

I would not put it past NBC to show one of them on tape delay while the other is going on live, fucking clowns.

Just live tennis, NBC, please, that is all I ask.

The way I see it is Nadal Murray play first. Nadal wins 6-2 6-3 6-4. Then Federer-Djokovic come on, They play an epic five setter. Fed wins 5-7 6-1 5-7 6-2 7-5 after saving two match points on serve at 4-5. Then they bump up the final to Saturday. only for rain to delay it until Sunday. Small rain delay on Sunday in the 2nd set Fed serving 4-6 4-4 15-30. Fed takes the set. at 5-4 15-30 Nadal pulls stunning aces and service winners to close out the set. Then he runs away with the fourth 6-2. Final score Nadal def Federer 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2. Only possible way I see the tournament going down.

Someone tweeted PMac saying Fed-Nole would be tape delayed and may not be shown by NBC at all, which would seem to imply it was the first SF, so it may not be set in stone yet.

If that's true then Fed-Djok match is gonna be interesting. IF Muzza beats Rafa, then the Fed-Djok match is gonna be the "real final". If Rafa gets to final then Fed's gonna shit himself by trying to avoid a 5-setter.:(

What rule are we talking about here

I know there are rules of how much time there can be between 2 matches on consecutive days, but I'm not aware of any rule when there's at least a day off between matches.

Official confirmation on the Roland Garros site.Nadal/Murray first at 2pm local time.Pretty late starting time if u ask me. Theoretically both matches could go to 5 sets and then second one might not finish if it`s a long match. Why do the organisers always take such risks? They took it once with Del Potro/Djokovic schedule and we saw what happened.

That`s what it`s expected. They start at 2pm and if it doesn`t finish in straight sets it could go 6pm or later and then another 20 minutes or so before next match starts.
And then it could leave 3 hours or even less time for the other match to finish.

No Waiting for French Open Men’s Semis.Article Comments The Daily Fix HOME
By Tom Perrotta
NBC will add live Internet streaming to its broadcast of the men’s French Open semifinals this Friday for the first time, according to a network spokesman.

The move follows complaints in recent years from tennis fans who could only see tape-delayed tennis following the network’s Today Show, depending on the length of the matches and the time zone.

This year, Tennis Channel will broadcast the first semifinal between defending champion Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, which begins at 8 a.m. ET. NBC will broadcast the second men’s semifinal—between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic—in its entirety on NBCSports.com, according to Adam Freifeld, a network spokesman. The network will begin its television coverage at 11 a.m. in all time zones, after the Today Show, Freifeld said.

On the East Coast, NBC will begin live coverage at 11 ET. If the Nadal-Murray match is still in progress, NBC will begin its coverage there. (Freifeld said the Tennis Channel would be allowed to complete its broadcast regardless.) If the Federer-Djokovic match is in progress, NBC will join it in progress. It will stream that match live in its entirety on NBCSports.com in any case, Freifeld said.

The combination of Internet and television broadcasts likely will still leave many viewers on the West Coast without live tennis on their televisions. At 11 a.m. in California, the day’s matches could well be over in Paris. If the matches are completed, viewers in the western U.S. would see the Federer-Djokovic match on tape delay.

The contest between Federer and Djokovic is the most anticipated of the season. Djokovic has yet to lose a match this year in 41 tries, and he’ll be guaranteed to overtake the No. 1 ranking after this tournament if he beats Federer, even if he fails to win the title. Federer hasn’t won a major title since the 2010 Australian Open but is in fine form so far this tournament – he hasn’t lost a set.

In past years, NBC has upset tennis viewers who have watched the majority of the French Open live on other networks, and then missed two of the event’s most important—and often compelling—matches. In 2009, NBC broadcast a condensed match while a semifinal between Roger Federer, then in search of his first French Open title, and Juan Martin del Potro was ongoing. Federer’s thrilling victory wasn’t broadcast until later that afternoon on Tennis Channel on tape delay.

they are mentally testing Nadal. If Nole and Fed match is the first one and Roger wins, Nadal will definitely go on a rampage against Murray. but if they play first then Noles face will still be in the head of Rafa giving Murray a bit of an edge. Plus Roger and Novak is just a a dream match up this year. same as the AO the true final was Roger Vs Novak

lol @ Nadal having a rest. I hear Djokerboy went to the Carribean for a week. Must have been nice. And anyway as the above psoters said, the biggest draw game should be 2nd. NAdal/Murray will be over in less than an hour and a Half so it's best to get that over and done with. DjokerFederer will be 4-5 Sets easily. There's plenty of time during the day to finish both matches. The problem with the Scheduling was during the early rounds when they were quite pathetic and matches didn't start until 6 GMT. No way in hell does Nadal/Murray last 4-5 Hours. Impossible.
