Post your guesses - some fun ones in here.

Also one guy is in the top10 twice, guess who?

Note I'm excluding an Anderson match since the stats are clearly nonsense.

Crazy Dani.

Got to go with Soderling. But i got a feeling it might be a trick question! Dolgopolov had a shitload of winners in a match but he went out but if it was for three first matches he would be dangerous

Anderson vs. Chela?

If you actually followed the match, you would have seen that it was constant growth throughout the match. I don't see how you can declare it nonsense.

Sod/Nadal/Fed/Gasquet not in top10.

2 Rosol

7 Murray
8 ??
9 ??
10 Rosol

Sod/Fed/Gasquet/Nadal not there - Sod wasn't far off in one match though.

I still don't see how you can exclude a match on your basis that "the stats are clearly nonsense".

Because he had 50% more winners than anybody else in the tournament. Wasn't in the largest number of games either.

Anyway, no Isner, no Troicki, no Paire.

Again, if you followed the scoreboard at all, you would have seen how it developed. Just because the game was on Anderson's racket (especially the first few sets, Chela had like 5 winners and 2 UEs after the first two sets) doesn't mean the scorecard is incorrect.

So most winners in a single match at this event, not most winners total. In that case Ilhan.

Well, I have lots of historical stats, this one stands out look a sore thumb. Even if he had 40 aces it would be absurd.

Anyway, that's a judgement call, this is a game. Anderson either doesn't count (my opinion), or he does if you want.

philosophicalarf
06-01-2011, 04:11 PM
Nope, no Malisse. What seems to make a large winners count:

a 5 set match (though Dolgo is so nuts he's up there with 4 sets)

psycho aggression (ie with large errorcount alongside it)

lots of netplay

aces (but the ace count hasn't been particularly high this year, not a factor here)

2 Ramos
5 Dolgo
6 Fognini
7 Falla

9 Ilhan
10 Verdasco

The remaining one was Verdasco.

Kubot and Fognini prolly have the two highest UE counts as well, 89 and 101.

Mrrm:

Kubot 75w 58ue
Almagro 69w 23ue

That latter errorcount must be an error - how can you lose with 3:1 :-)

Last 3 sets, which Mugro all lost were with 16:3, 14:2 and 13:3!

philosophicalarf

Murray might get in the top10 again here against Chela ..... and in only 3 sets.
