How would you feel if the final was completely unexpected?

how would you all feel if the 3 main favorites all crashed out before the final and say we had a gasquet v.s simon final or a ferrer v.s soderling final..or maybe wawrinka v.s soderling or murray v.s monfils?

would you welcome the unexpected or would you automatically write the final off because none of nadal, djokovic or federer were in it

Great, especially if Andy was in it and Federer wasn't.

Ferrer making a grand slam final on clay would be well deserved, especially if he played Chela or Falla

there are only possibilities for the final:

1. clay warrior vs the great serbian slayer

2. clay warior vs the great swiss assasin

yeah the final will more than likely be one of those matches but i think it would great to see all 3 of them out and have 2 unexpected finalists..it would be fun because instead of having a pretty good idea of how the final will turn out we could have a very unpredictable final

on top of that its always nice to see someone win a maiden slam

That would be amazing! I'd love for Robin to make it third time lucky :) And it would mean so much to anyone who hasn't won a slam before, that's always lovely to see. I think it's very unlikely that it won't be the top 2/3 who make it there though.

it will be good for tennis if some new players can win grand slam, wawrinka and Gasquet play good tennis, high quality tennis, no problem for me if they reach the final

Ljubicic vs Monfils?

That would be great!

I don't mind either way.

But if it's not the top 3, then David Ferrer and maybe Andy Murray to win their first GS sounds good to me.

Would be terrible. Watching someone like Andy "injured ankle" Mugray vs some mug from the other half would probably draw in less public than first round WTA match between LL and qualifier :o

All the mugs are in Murray's side of the draw

And Ferrer is not a mug.

Oh yeah, I forgot Ferrer. He would be alright for the final, I suppose. I was thinking more about totally fluke finalists, though I honestly don't see anyone upsetting Olderer or Djoke before finals.

any final without djokovic and especially nadull in it would be absolutely wonderful.

i'm serious, i wouldn't care who the finalists are as long as djoko and nadal aren't playing the final

besides, it would be awesome if someone like andy murray wins RG - just for the lulz

I would love to see it every once in a while. Obviously not all the time because then we would be in the mess that WTA is in now. But variety every now and then would be great.

It would be good for tennis given that new faces will have opportunities to win slams.

But it would bad for me because the quality of the matches would be weaker. So I'd doubt I'd watch such a final.

Ferrer seems like the most likely unlikely candidate. And I think he would be a well-accepted one.

Hung-over. honestly, did you feel any pain when you lost a fist-fight hung-over? no. Rafa is going through a cleansing process. He's still 1000000000000 times the champ that weasel-faced fake Servian is. Rafa is the real deal....

the ATP and ITF must ensure that nadal and djokovic make the final

If you take out the big four, I guess the most deserving are Robin and Ferrer. But my heart is totally going to be with Gasquet, that would be incredible.

for me an unexpected final which would still be most satisfying would be federer vs soderling, with fed winning his 17th slam.

i find it sad that thinking of federer in finals of GS these days seem a distant past..

I'd love it provided the final was of a good quality. Apart from the USO there hasn't been a good slam final in ages.

I'd be gutted, heartbroken and inconsolable.

If Rafa loses in the final, that's something I can accept, but losing even before that at RG, no that would be too much.

But it would be nice to see Monfils or Gasquet lift up the trophy,

True.

and its like

1. 90%

2. 9.5%

of happening.

0.5% is the failure margin.
