If Gasquet stands close to baseline and takes the ball early it will get competitive but I still expect Nole to win in 4 sets...if Gasquet reverts to his usual 5m behind the baseline bs, then Nole beats him in 3 comfortable sets. All this is assuming that Nole's form doesn't dramatically drop of course, which I don't see happening at the moment.

Djoker in 3 sets, without TB- something like 6:3, 6:3, 6:2. Gasquet has no weapons against him, Djoker has better defense, is quicker on the court, better beckhand - yeas better, superior forehand, little bit better serve and mentally far better.

Nole will win in 3, can't see how he will drop a set, he is playing well enough to just get through his matches without exerting too much effort.

Love watching Richie, but unfortunately he has no weapons to hurt Nole. Also, Nole is miles ahead mentally.

Best of luck to Richie though, hoping to watch a somewhat competitive match. :yeah:

del Potro was a HUGE test, IMO. If Djokovic uses that match as a spring board, Gasquet should struggle to win games. But whatever the case may be, Djokovic should win in 3.

Indeed, but imagine what keeping this level up for so long looks like. He is due to have a bad day. Maybe I just hope it happens when he would still be able to pull a win.

I also have a strong feeling that Fed can beat Novak in this tournament. On the other hand, in case of Rafa-Nole final, I like Novak's chances.

If Djokovic plays like he plays today, we're looking at a 6-1, 6-1, 6-2 rout. Gasquet can't hit nearly as hard as Pony (to get those quick winners) and probably won't be able to retrieve shots as well as Pony did today (due to his already inexplicably great movement and wide wingspan).

Gasquet's serve is going to need to be SO on to have a chance.

You're totally overrating a Del Potro who is still trying to refind his best level.
Gasquet beat guys like Federer,Berdych or Belluci(you know, the guy who should have beaten the Djoker 3 weeks ago) recently so i doubt Djokovic will have it that easy, especially if Gasquet played like he played during two sets against Murray last year.

I don't know it could go to 4 if the French crowd gets into Djokovic's head and forces him to make errors. But he should be use to this by now. He was able to defeat Andy Roddick at the USO. So I'm going with Djokovic in 3 sets with one of them perhaps a tiebreak or some kind of tight set.

Well it's hard to say, Del Potro was horrible in the 3rd and 4th and had he played 'better' maybe he could have won or at least kept it tighter.

But yeah I don't see Gasquet having a chance but I think it will be tighter than that score unless Novak plays his best.

Actually, the real nonsense is that they decided to schedule the most interesting match of R3 as a fourth match on PC instead of second/third. They also screwed a lot of people with tickets for that match as well. No wonder a lot of angry people made a lot of noise and booing outside of Lenglen court while the match was on.

I have no doubt in my mind that organizers were trying to do Gasquet a huge favor. All the commentators I was listening to were saying (before the schedule was published) that they expect Delpo/Nole match 2nd after women. That would have made most sense. They were never going to put them on 1st, but 3rd? Come on! They were hoping that 2nd men's match would last long and they were pretty sure (like I was) that Delpo-Nole would be a LONG match, at least 2-2.5 hours. Having scheduled Gasquet-Nole match 3rd the next day would mean that Nole would have to play Richard in less than 24hrs! Nice try, but Nole surprised everyone and managed to quickly take care of Delpo and will be fully rested for Gasquet tomorrow.

How many is "ALL"? 2? 3? The commentator I was listening to said they should have just kept it on Chatrier and let them play the whole match today :wavey:

Great imagination, but usually the match of the day is the last or second last. This would have been a night match at the AO/USO. Again, if they had really wanted to sabotage Djokovic, they wouldn't have bothered moving the match at all. Would have saved them a lot of trouble and from dealing with the angry spectators too. But again, if you enjoy imaginary conspiracy theories, I'll leave you to them :D

Nice try but match of the day is last, not 2nd last...you telling me that people care more about Bartoli-Dulko match? No chance in hell. They knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Give me a reason why they didn't put Nole-Gasquet match last? Because they were expecting tired Nole that is why...and also because night conditions clearly favour Nole. Gasquet needs hot afternoon conditions/quick surface to have any hope...night match, forget it.

Well, it was a lack of luck too. Both WTA matches went to three sets, and Tsonga-Wawrinka went to five. And they said they always try to keep a big match as the last one on PC.

As for favoring Gasquet, they are not really into it. Last year, they made him play his first round match early while they could have easily scheduled it the day after, and he lost because he was exhausted.
And I don't think that playing yesterday, today, and tomorrow will be a problem for Nole. We are talking about a guy who played three hours against Murray, finished late, and was still able to beat Nadal in two physically draining sets the day after.

Gasquet is playing much better than in IW and this time, he will play on his second best surface(and not djoker's best surface) and at home.
And you seriously believe a guy who is capable of hitting 40 winners in three sets against federer on Clay and almost 40 winners to Murray in 2 sets on grass has no weapons to hurt the serbian slayer?
