:ras: Such an annoying result.

Dolgo's shot selection of course, needs to fine tune that intuition. Lost a good few points going for passes he couldn't pull off, or falling short on the dropshot three times in a row.

Only too fitting that Troicki took out the last player in the draw with an entertaining game.

As the commentators said: The talent versus the brute. Please releave us of this guy Murray.

Oddly I got to say Dolgopolov is the more talented and higher potential player. But some of his decisions are just insanity. If he could sort that out who knows about him. Such a touch he has. And yeah tons of errors but 68 winners aint bad against Troicki who got solid movement.

I love Dolgo´s game, but i start to wonder if he is even thinking or playing just for fun - he needs to think on the court if he won points to ranking, and better results. His game is fun, but he needs to improve something to more professional level, he make many times so many errors, because it looks like he don´t care he just hit the ball if it goes in good, if it goes to the net good.

Troicki up to provisional 12th now. Of course insanely lucky with draws, he's not really a top20 player, and 12-20 are very tightly bunched.

Yea, I was screwing around a bit, but seriously, Viktor is probably among those top 50 players who have least fans, even here in Serbia I don't remember I've heard many people talk about him, although he's the 2nd best player this country ever had.

Of course, his style of play doesn't give you too many things to get excited about (to say the least :p), but it's not his fault that a good part of top 20 play like mugs or are suffering from injuries, so if he does reach the top 10, it's well deserved. :)

As the commentators dubbed this match, "the brute versus the talent" - the brute ending up being the winner as the talent was just overdoing it trying to showcase his talent in a lot of occasions.
In other words, Troicki was by far the most consistent of the two, and once he figured out how to deal with Dolgo's :D-dropshotting abilities, it was GSM for Troicki. Congrats to him, taking well advantage of the opened-up draw. :hatoff:

It's quite ridiculous how Dolgo manages to either play an astonishing shot, only to follow it up with the most :silly: UEs, especially in that final set. Whatever, he's damn entertaining to watch, never a dull moment with the guy on court. I'm really looking forward to see what he is capable of doing of on grass.

I beg to differ: Dolgo is immensely talented but cannot curb his aggression and plays immature tournament tennis. If curbed, with fewer UEs I think that his style would be at least half as entertaining. He tries to score all the time, no matter what position he's in and that is entertaining, of course, but leads to losses even to stolid and solid players such as Troicki. BTW, I also believe that Troicki is the most undervalued player here on the MTF (I may be wrong as I've been here only a couple of days and a week as a lurker). The guys is six foot four, the same as Soderling, but moves way better than the Swede. He is a damn good server. And does not choke, fact already proven in some important events :wavey:

Dolgo is like a mosquito. Buzzes around, stings, but without enough power to produce some real damage and mind to choose when, what and how to attack. I never said anything about top 5,I clearly said that he has a chance to be among top 10 soon.

he WILL be top 10 soon. that's almost certain

but he can take it a step further

The guys is six foot four, the same as Soderling, but moves way better than the Swede. He is a damn good server. you must be kiddin

And does not choke, tact already proven in some important events :wavey:
once he was leadin 5:1 against Melzer in 3rd set but he still managed to lose match, last year at Wimbledon he had 2:0 against same opponent and lost, some years before 2:0 against Stepanek and what about last year against D Joke he had 2:0 and almost double break in a pocket in 3rd set but he lost too. Troicki is school of choke

Aleks is so frustrating in brainless mode, but entertaining all the same.

Dolgopolov is stupid. He hit like 30 dropshots in this match and almost all succesfull and still found a way to lose to this mug Tricki.
