Wawrinka really struggles with mental aspect of his game when playing against Federer. If you look on paper, he has got the firepower to trouble Roger. But like so many players, puts up a feeble performance in the actual match against him.

Well... I'm a Fed fan and a Djokovic don'tliker and even I think this would be very difficult.
If Roger wins over Novak it would be in 5 sets and in a very close match.
But well... I really hope that could happen.

I wanted Clownga who can't return for shit. Fed wouldn't have faced a single BP and would have routined the Frenchie something like 6-3 6-2 6-3.

Wawa will be more difficult.

Wawrinka looks like he'd give Federer a tough match, but almost everytime they've met Federer has routined him (head to head is 8-1 I think). I think Federer will win again, especially if he's serving like he did against Tipsarevic. Federer also knows Wawrinka's game inside out and knows his weaknesses and how to beat him.

At the Australian Open when he was in good form u hoped for a good performance by Wawrinka and it didn`t come.Right now he isn`t playing great at all,got very lucky against Tsonga who ran out of steam,so u would expect an easy win for Federer.Hopefully we are proven wrong and Wawrinka will do well.Sure Federer probably will win but if it has to be 3 sets then i would take something like 6-4 6-4 7-6

The only player Stan is interested in beating is Murray. Similar to Murray only seems motivated when he plays the Claywarrior. Both routinely gets beaten by Rog in grand slams. Not likely to change anytime soon so straights sets win for Rog.

Must have been mentally exhausting for Stan to play a five-setter against a home-crowd favorite. Add to that the fact that he rarely performs against Federer at all, Iīd say itīs an easy one for Roger. He is having a nice draw.

Guess you missed Djoker's 1st round U.S. Open match last year. What the hell has Wawrinka ever done against Federer in a slam? Wawrinka knows where his place is

But honestly, I don't REALLY think any of the top players' compatriots "tank" matches for them. It's just fun to joke about them....especially the ones who do the worst against their compatriots.

A classic case of a poorly treated lapdog biting its master. Olderer probably put Mugwrinka on a leash for months until he disciplined him into total submission, which is evident by blatant tanks from the Swiss every time he comes out against Olderer on court.

djkotards/nadulltards should STFU until troicki/verdasco can beat their hero at least one time.

not until that happens, all the comparisons of the likes of troicki and tabasco with wawrinka will be able to hold any water whatsoever. :wavey:

Anyone can defeat Federer at a small tournament lol. But given what we've seen so far. It's almost imperative that Wawrinka will still miraculously find a way to deliberately bend over to him. You would have expected a player of his class to KO Federer at one point in at least one slam match. But he refuses to go try. Ironically he has one of the best coaches to aid him, still finds a way to lose at the slams to Federer. (Coming from a Federer fan)

People, people.. They're playing tennis, a polite non-contact sport. You guys and your over-dramatic exaggerations over domination.

Federer to hit more winners and less unforced errors, resulting in a favourable scoreline, a friendly handshake and possibly a couple sherries after defeating his Swiss bitc- compatriot.

i'll play along anyhow as i can't help wondering why tabasco hasn't beaten nadal not once then, despite having had an overall higher ranking than wawa and having played nadal more times than wawa has played federer. my only guess is that verdasco's blindness must be even blacker than wawa's :retard:

i won't even comment on the fact that tennis is a sport of match-ups, some you tards wouldn't even understand it. let alone the fact that wawrinka has only played federer just twice in his whole career in Grand Slams.

In general terms, a player of wawrinka's class should never be expected to beat federer in a GS match. He's a good player, he even got to be ranked ninth once, but the truth is that federer is just better. he can be prone to bad days like everyone is and that was proven in 2009 when federer got beaten by wawa in Monte Carlo (and to be fair, wawa played great there). can it happen again? sure. can it happen in a GS? yes. is it expected? no.
