Del Potro vs Djokovic match moved to Lenglen

"Correm rumores em Roland Garros de que o encontro entre Novak Djokovic e Juan Martin del Potro não terá lugar esta sexta-feira. Apesar de ainda ser de dia, a luz natural é cada vez pior e já há quem diga que com as dificuldades de visão do tenista sérvio, é grande a pressão para que não entrem sequer em court... aguardemos para ver..."

Saw in a facebook profile of a portuguese journalist that it's in RG covering on facebook. Basically, it says that there is pressure made by the Djokovic staff, asking for the match not happen today, because of the Djokovic problems of vision, because it starts to get darker, in Paris.

It's only a rumour, IMO, but it's a reasonable possibility...

I heard rumours that it might be changed to court 1, which would be horrible for spectators.

The article implies that the Fakervic family influenced RG to make the Djok/DelPo match not happen today. This is not beyond the realm of possibility, especially since it was supposed to rain today so the schedulers had to know the chance of Fakervic playing today were close to 0.

Pretty disgusting if it's true, looks like Fakervic has learned to cheat and bribe his way to titles from the Nadull family at the expense of the fans.

It's 7-15 and it gets dark at 9-30 If they move it I don't think all the people in Chartrier would be happy unless they could get everyone out of Suzanne .. a lot of people just wouldn't leave and they would have to call in the Riot Squad.

One the one hand I think it's silly to move it to Lenglen cos it's not going to finish.

On the other, if the suggestions that one player or the other pressed the organisers to postpone the match because it would suit them better are true, I'm glad that the organisers paid no attention.

I can see being upset, but this is certainly not the first or last time a match had to be moved for reasons of timing. This is something that you know CAN happen if you go to watch a tennis match on a full day at a major, especially one at the end of the day.

question is why they LAST on court, not why woman also play:confused:

That was cool to be in the middle of a riot actually. Reminded me of the meat lines in Soviet Union. I had tickets for both courts so I got in after fought my way through the security, easy job with my experience.

Now I am mad though, no tickets for SL tomorrow! And the match was great, I think it'll get even greater! They should have kept this match at PC! :smash:

SERBIAN OPEN had lights

FRENCH OPEN doesn't have lights

RG should get with the times and install some lights FFS. It's pathetic there are no lights at a Grand Slam in the year 2011.

Even the most MM tournaments have lights these days.
