A lot of dropshots from both players, Teixeira gave his all out there, wish De Bakker would've played like that against Djokovic.

Federer was a little bit sloppy in some parts of the first set, where I was surprised at how far back he was standing behind the baseline. But from 3-3 onwards, he picked it up and looked very solid indeed. I got the impression Teixeira gave up a little in the second set, but he did well to get a couple of games on the scoreboard in the third.

Like Prodon yesterday against Murray, this player used a lot of dropshots. But u can see the big difference between a guy who just reached his career high getting into top 200 and a top ATP player.

Great exhibition match. Very nice to see. I'm glad Roger had a chance to work on his ROS. Onwards to the 3rd round.

This Teixeira has a terrible sense of court positioning. Overall, a LOL match.

What? a tv broadcaster would rather show a pushniacki moonball fest than the greatest player of all time? Disgusting.

Teixeira is no tennis genius but he was really nice to look at. His kamikaze game is pretty entertaining, hopefully he improves and sticks around.

Good to see Fed putting on a show after a dodgy 1st set. He even nailed some passing shots.

Unfortunately this beatdown of a schoolboy tells us nothing about his chances in the tournament.

Fed could have won this match blindfolded more or less. Must have been very nice and relaxing for him to feel like a true dominator again. Was a good opportunity to polish some details in his RG game and prepare for upcoming tests.

Well, that was an entertaining exho/practice 'match' for sure.
Of course Teixeira was no match whatsoever for Fed - not just because of him being the living legend that he indeed is, but also because he decided to show up in a rather convincing manner today. Lots of dropshots from both players where the difference in quality became all too visible, and quite a few moments of pure gallery play by Fed, especially in set 2 and 3. Like I said, despite the one way-traffic, this didn't at all hurt to watch. Fed's REAL job in the tournament will start from now on. :yeah:

In contrast to Thiemo de Bakker earlier in the tournament, Teixeira decided to give it his best and just enjoy the experience whatever would happen. I saw him smile a couple of times, and to see him raise his arms to the air when he finally managed to get on the scoreboard in that 3rd set was both funny and cute. Nice fellow. :yeah:

I would much rather watch Woznacki than this match. Not because I like Wozniacki or women's tennis, but because it was a real match unlike this joke.

I think the scoreline shows more dominance than what really showed. There are just too many moments where Fed missed shots that should be routine. He plays far too many low-percentage shots, as well.

I bet this will not be the only bagel in feds matches at the FO.

Fed was toying about with his opponent, tried out various shots, etc.
There is no need for playing at your best level against an opponent who's got nothing on you whatsoever.
That scoreline shows exactly how dominant Fed was. Actually, he could have bagelled Teixeira in that 3rd set as well, but just let his foot off the gas there.

I did miss that if that indeed happened? But honestly, so what? It happens. Unless you're going to make an argument every time Federer benefits from a bad call, it's completely beside the point....which is Federer should have never even faced a BP to begin with, especially against a guy who played ONE pro match prior to today.
