phew

I watched the first set and he looked great, turned off and then had to endure periodic comments about him possibly imploding lol

Nice match after that first set. Good fight Ryan!

Ryan is a capable player and great to watch. I think he'll have a good career, or at least better than Isner or Queery

Moronic thread title. This was a good quality tennis match, and if you watched it you would have noticed that. Great fight from Ryan as usual and his serve and defense really impressed me. Heck, he might have won if he played Nadal today.

Looks like it got a little dicey for Robin, but Ryan really picked it up. I like his prospects on the clay, he put in a good outing

Harrison is going to be unbelievably good. That's all.

Tough one, Ryan. Great to see him pushing the two-time runner up though, kid's got game.

I'm proud of you Ryan!!

Ryan should be proud. He'll be a great clay player one day, some of those gets were Monfils like

Good test for Soderling against Nadull, Ryan was forcing him to hit 3/4 winners a point and eventually Soda was able to.

American tennis is looking great in the future, Isner and Harrison and maybe even Querrey are getting their groove back.

great match and fight shown by ryan, he definately is going to be good

robin is probably relieved to get out of that match, he was frustrated for alot of it.

good that he has a test this early though

Harrison would have won vs Nadal today. But yeah good quality match with some solid serving from both sides. Robin was better on the important points like he should be

I wouldn't expect anything big from Isner or Sam.. Ryan is different story

When Ryan is underdog he plays incredibly good (but when he is fav he is useless!) I am so proud for this wonderboy!

But Robin is very-very-very out of form  In-form Soderling would bagel Ryan

Nadulltards are now united in hating Isner :help: Playing like today at Wimbledon or the USO I can't see anyone beating Isner.

Yanks got clayed btw! King bt Cibulkova, Querrey bt Kohlschreiber, Isner and Harrison made 2010 finalists run for their miney! New clay nation?

Can you just talk like normal person? I like John but he will never win any Masters 1000 event, not to mantion Major.. Sam too

Doubtful...Isner gives people no rhythm while Harrison is a bit more of an all-court player and a tiny bit easier to get the groundstrokes in rhythm against and a little easier to break. It's all about matchups

Isner will win the USO in his career. You heard it here first :aparty:

Granted, he made a few more UEs then he does at his absolute best, but his form looked excellent to me. What kept the score tight was Ryan's solid returning and defense. It'll be interesting to see how far Soda goes in this tournament.

Great fight Ryan. This kid may not have a career like Sampras or Agassi or even Roddick but he will have a good one if he stays healthy.

Robin is playing Ramos next. Should be an easier match. ;)

Ryan got the serve(albeit inconsistent at times), the defense(sick sick sick) and can pull of winners at any time. He just needs the mental guidance and he'll be top20 in no time.

Robin played a decent match, a little up and down but Ryan forced him to play so many balls. Probably was the hardest test before the R16 or quarter assuming he keeps a similar level.

Terrible thread title and opening GIF.

Ryan played a decent match, he really wanted this chance and got it. Good showing

Great to see that Harrison put up a fight. I'll be eagerly watching him as his career develops.

Glad that SodKing got it done today, though. I want another deep run from him here.

Sod/Davy/Murray to make the final and beat Fed, would be rather sweet.

How generous of the King to let a set for young american hope. The king is always generous.

Interview with Harrison after the match:

jpb4hNyk03I

I like his commitment to the game. But that he is talking about how he can improve his game with Roddick of all people... now that scares me. :tape: Please Andy, don't fill the kid's head with shit like "All you need on the tour today is fitness".

MaxPower

Typical of an american to talk about what he needs to improve for world nr1 even when he isn't even in the top100. Ambition can take you far!
