RG R1: Djokovic def. De Bakker 6-2 6-1 6-3

05-23-2011, 12:11 PM
Only caught the final set, all too easy for Novak. Thiemo played some nice points there, but basically all other points went to Djokovic. And on Djokovic' serve Thiemo couldn't make an impact.

Too bad for Thiemo, who drops even further down the rankings.

Thiemo served pretty well, Nole usual stuff.

05-23-2011, 12:14 PM
nole didnt even have to do much at all thiemo was just that bad for a large portion of the match

05-23-2011, 12:16 PM
Just solid...two breaks per set

05-23-2011, 12:17 PM
Thiemo is too useless to truly test the Phantom Lord. :)

05-23-2011, 12:17 PM
Not as easy as the score suggests, actually easier.

05-23-2011, 12:17 PM
rock solid

Go Djoko!

Thiemo some good experience playing the top dog, It's just a shame you had the worst draw in the first round, now dropping again in the rankings and hopefully you can get back to the top 50 where you clearly belong. You have game, you are still young and you are the nicest Dutch player to watch in my opinion.

Novak Djokovic, amazing streak continues, we are witnessing history in the making very exiting stuff :worship:

Thiemo played average, not bad, not great. Nole was on cruise control. He hit the ball sharply and was never troubled, served at 80% and was very effective with it, used it intelligently. De Bakker would do well to look at Djokovic and mold his shotmaking after his. He needs to learn better tactical game and patterns.

All in all, expected result.

I couldn't see the match, how felt the new ball? did trouble/benefit Novak at all? By the score I guess it was ok.

05-23-2011, 12:41 PM
nole well done :D, 1 down 6 to go :D

good game by Djokovic, all that he needed.

Also good for him to get it done very quickly.

Totally one-way traffic from Djoko, you might say Thiemo got some 1st class tennis lesson today. No shame in losing to Djokovic in this sky-rocketing form.

Of course Thiemo isn't in Djoko's league, not even close - but I daresay he could've done better than this. He's had a rough ride so far this season, and his bodylanguage was awful, looked like giving up already halfway the second set. The guy surely needs to work on his mental strength, and I very much wonder if Raemon Sluiter is the correct guy to be able to help him with that...

De Bakker held 50% of his service games, not that bad.

He was lucky to play against Djokovic, he would have lost to almost all other players too.

At least this isn't humiliating.

Easy and convincing win for Nole.

Pathetic display by the dutch... Couldn't keep the ball in play for more than 2 shots. And it is clay!

Good that there's always someone who sees the positives.

it was not a match, it was a clay court clinic in broad day light.......

Impressive from Nole

05-23-2011, 02:58 PM
Pretty routine from nole, the news balls don't seem to affect his game much.

Nice and easy win for Novak.Barely even broke a sweat.

De Bakker should have been more agressive from the start.

Clinical. Imposing. Domineering. calculating. Ruthless. These are just some of the words that can describe the monster within Novak Djokovic right now. He was the school principle and he had to discipline the dumb kid who broke the rules and steped on his damn court. Novak tore this choker to pieces. He grasped Thiemos confidence in his hand and turned it into dust. This was tennis torture conducted by Novak Djokovic.

This was ruthless. De bakker begged for mercy but Novak spat in his face. demolition. unreal
