RG FQR: Greul loses to Kubot 6-2 5-7 1-6

Simon totally blew it. Fuck him. 0-30 at 3-3 on return. So many chances at the start of the third. But I'm not too upset since Simon could get a LL.

Simon was up a set and a break. This was his match. Just an unacceptable result all around. Hopefully if he does get an LL spot he makes up for it.

Great for Kubot! Nice to have an attacking-style player in the MD :D

You can do better than that Filo and if Bolelli loses are you going to have a cry?

Simone isn't going to lose. Actually I was more concerned about Phau and more concerned now about Gicquel than Simone.

I can do better but Kubot doesn't deserve it.

You said the same about Dodig and Andujar.

I never said anything negative about Dodig in terms of dislike. I just didn't think he was talented and I still don't, I doubted his ability to perform at the ATP level but he's done a great job to get where he is, and I've always liked him. I'm very happy for him, he's a great top 100 player and not a waste in ATP MD's.

Andujar and Kubot, however, I don't like, and I wish they would go away. Pablo, I'm sort of neutral on now, since he's become respectable instead of hot garbage, but Kubot basically still sucks.

We saw the true Kubot v Djokovic. He got exposed. Unfortunately he'll most likely be back in the top 100. Maybe he won't be a total big fail this time.

Well he lost only one of last 7 match. Beaten Gil, Kavcic, Cuevas and these three, he we all know (who watched that match) he didn't play his game against Djokovic, he wasn't at net never in first set. That's mean we didn't see the true Kubot.

I don't know what superpowers Greul has that makes him so special over Kubot, Filo. Both average, just Kubot more consistent over the last several months, and it's Kubot's style that speaks more to me, yet it isn't a reason for me to cry a river over any win Greul ever snatches.

Poland Garros.

Greul is more consistent, much better mover, and has crisper groundstrokes when he's playing well. Kubot has the first serve advantage and more pop. Both have poor second serves but Simon at least doesn't DF 5-10 times per match every match. Also I think Kubot's game is awkward to look at, he's not a natural talent. I just don't like his game, he's mediocre.

The groundstrokes weren't that crispy this season though, as I watched all his matches in Monza (how he got so high? only because the opponents were beyond bad) and he performed like an erratic pusher. Kubot can at least serve and volley. And I don't really mind Greul, on a good day he can be entertaining (like against Raonic in Jo'burg).

Anyway what I was trying to say, crying rivers over players ranked 150 or something is a pure sad activity, these players are ranked there for a reason, they aren't Djokovic.

Most of my favorites are challenger players and guys out of the top 50. I find them more interesting than the top players. And also the importance of their matches is more than Nole or Rafa or Roger for many reasons. They may be lesser known and lesser talented but the depths of the ATP tour is where the real tennis and struggles are.

Greul is fun. When he loses a tight 2nd set, the 3rd is usually hide-behind-the-sofa stuff.

Haha, Kubot got Almagro. Now I'm happy Simon lost since he would have wasted more time in RG even though he wouldn't have done shit!

Just you hate Łukasz.

Anyway he is about third time to top 100 if he wins one match, but these opponents. :haha: Bellucci, Djokovic, Almagro... no problem, sooner or later. ;)
