Oh by the way he confirmed that in his twitter account about 20 minutes ago. So glad he could make it, he needed to be there at least. It will be good for his confidence.:)

Good!

Hoping he can do some damage, not sure if I'm counting on it though.

As a huge fan the first thing I have to say is he better be fit otherwise it's a beyond stupid decision, that idiotic decision playing the AO last year cost him badly and if this does the same I'll be very mad!

I think he is well surrounded and his people wouldn't get into a risky situation. His team has made good decisions in the past.

Yeah that's true, so we'll see how it goes. If any injury starts to play up though I really hope him and his team choose the right thing to do though.

He should just rest up for the hardcourts where he can dominate all but Djokovic.

He,s fit! Awesome ! Can,t wait now! Del Potro is a very exciting player to watch sometimes! This has given the French open a big boost! He Is the youngest of that group of young top players I hope he does really well!

Good news if he's really really fit. Hope he doesn't risk any further injury.
Now let's hope for a good draw. As one of the latest seeds he could have a very hard third round.

As I said before the most important thing for delpo is to come out and play, stay on the court without injuries.
I am not sure how would he feel watching another grand slam through tv.

Good news. Bet the top10 won't be happy to get him in their draw no matter what shape he is in. Hope he gets Nadals or Djokovic and takes one of them out. (evil laughter)

No chance of taking either out ! Maybe Soderling or Fed or Muzza!

For some reason I could see him winning it actually! If he plays like he did at the US Open! He is damn good when he gets goin! Grate Volleyer

99.9% unlikely

The .1% comes if they spot del Potro 2 sets and a break.

Healthy, del Potro stands a realistic chance.

This is fantastic news, but I hope he is not risking his recovery by returning early. I feel Davydenko returned to competition earlier last year than he should have. Del Potro's team seem to have taken good decisions with regards to tournament participation and withdrawals so far as injuries are concerned in the past, so I hope they have made a good assessment on the relative risks and rewards.

A 70% del potro is good enough to win roland garros. Wonder if he is even 50% fit.

Guess he'd rather risk it on the clay.. considering he's not particularly fond of grass.

The decision makes sense. Could slip into the 3rd or 4th round.

with who can he play in third round? someone who is seeded 1-8?

Good for tennis and for me (huge fan) but I'm not sure about his confidence now. He gained huge confidence during this clay season but this hip injury could have threatened it. Hope not. Go Delpo!

Yeah am pretty sure his 3rd round opponent will be seeded 1-8. Should be able to beat Melzer at least though, and the others (bar Nadal and Djokovic) are beatable imo.

Good news. It wasn't a bad injury it seems.

He'll be rested so that is good, he's played a lot this year and for just coming back into the game he needed a break anyway.

He wasn't out too long so should have his game intact pretty much.

If he can get through a couple rounds he should be where he was before the injury and with the much needed rest maybe even better.

Good to see him back.

Good to see Del Potro in Paris. That said, I highly doubt he can pull off anything noteworthy there, JM has just recovered from injury and will be looking for the form once again.
