Yay! Would love to see him at Wimbledon Qualifying :) Great player and great personality with a bright future assuming he stays injury free. :D

He is 19 and never done anything

His results have taken a nasty downwards spiral since his awesome middle of last year. His last start was a 4-6 1-6 1-6 loss in the first round of a Italian futures.

I admit his results leave a lot to be desired. But an ATP250 semi-final (as lucky as it was) is something compared to where most 19 year olds are nowadays.

It was indeed very lucky m8, I watched it!!

This season we had only 2 ATP 1/4's of players born in 1991 or after (Andrey Kuznetsov and Grigor Dimitrov)

As lucky as he was he really did play an amazing set vs Djokovic last year.

I think it was very nice fix (StatRacket done nice article about biggest surprises last year in terms of bet quotes) cause Novak can beat him with left hand and left leg

Filip is very talented and have nice shots but that will not bring him anything without hard work

Cheers, it was the 4th biggest upset of the year according to the bookies.

Too much hype players develop at their own speeds. Seems like a lot of people are looking for the next bandwagon.

wasn't nadal upthere in one of the biggest losses in 2010 when he lost to g. lopez in asia somewhere near the end of the year?

Don't know why, but I did the table in reserve order (perhaps to build suspense in my original article). That Nadal upset was the biggest of 2010 according to my data.

He doesn't strike me as a player who will even get to the top 100.

He's talented for sure...and has a great personality...but he's really weak physically, he looks like an 15 year old...if he somehow menages to improve on that he can be a great player.

Seems pretty enthusiastic from what I've seen of him. Which isn't much to be honest.. might have to wait till he's around 21 for a breakthrough.

Filip had some major shoulder injury that completly ruined his 2011 season.

Hopefully he gets healthy. He's too frail. He's a type that will get better as he physically matures. He's got talent, I think he will be a top 50 player eventually.

He had shoulder injury that sidelined him for 6 months. From what I saw he worked on his fitness quite a bit in the meantime cos that was his biggest weakness. If he works hard he can be really good player and he still has enough time to achieve it. His backhand is thing of beauty and he has really nice touch at the net. Now, all of that is not enough but is great base if he dedicates him self to tennis.

Filip will have a decent enough career if injuries don´t avoid it

Do something with that photo, it's killing the topic. :( Filip had shoulder injury and he had an operation few months ago, not sure where he is now, probably still slowly getting back :)

He started with trainings 7 days ago. He doesn't have any pain in the shoulder but going on therapies. Should be ready for next season.

October 21: Booked my flight and on my way to IMG Academies on Monday to start training again. Excited, hungry, and very motivated!

October 26: First week back in Florida at IMG Academies. I am slowly starting to hit (about one hour a day) and am doing Fitness twice a day. Working with Nick Bollettieri, Glenn Weiner, and the team to get myself 100% healthy and ready for 2012. Excited to be back and working hard.

October 27: Working on a lot of core strengthening and fitness...Good one hour practice this morning with Nick and Glenn. No pain at all. Not hitting serves yet.

November 2: Had a great hit this morning. In the afternoon did a good fitness session and now some more therapy on my shoulder with Graeme.

Let's hope for the best :)

Poor boy. He was one of my favorites among the juniors, and of course he had bad luck like all my other favorites. He was by far the best youngster, also beat Djokovic like 2-3 year ago. Poor Filip. :(

Totally agreed. I don't care how bad Djokovic was that day but he played better tennis in that set than I've ever seen Tomic or Harrison ever play.

He's back on track. 4 wins in 3 days. Last Mannarino was bageled and breadsticked. Odds were equal
