Any thoughts? Anyone know when the draw is coming out?

I guess it will be out this saturday, and I don't really know what to think of it yet...

Me neither. I hope that he gets a decent draw-or at least a good first-round match.

A nice local Wild Card that no one has heard of would be nice :)

I hope he has been training hard this past 2 weeks

Me too, TL. I have a feeling, though, that the result in the China Open was rather encouraging for him, plus he has very few points to defend. I expect that he will relax and play his best tennis. That's the hope anyway.

I think so too sigma.

I am assuming he is the #2 seed, behind Hewitt??

Yes, but we know that's no guarantee that he will get a good draw.

The draw is out, he has a bye in the first round, then he has to face Morrisson or a qualifier.

I saw that. It's not bad at all.

No think you are right Sigma..he can make it for a couple of rounds

He has oodles of points that he can gain, so I have tons of confidence in him. He can actually loosen up and play some good tennis.

true and if he still wants to make it to Houston than he has to hurry up ;)
and well if he is in a good form he can do well and win some more rounds, what is good for the convidence.. and well don't forget, his sponsers aswell ;)

I'm not as concerned about Houston for David, as I am about him playing himself back into form.

No personaly I don't think that Houston must have such a high priority.. but wel he still talkes about it and wants to go there.. so well if he does well in Tokyo he wins some more points.. and like you said, if he can win some more rounds, he can get some more matchpractise back, and getting the form back..

I like the draw, overall. It's evenly spaced out among the field, so I still think David has a good chance to gain some ground here.

I think that if he faces Cañas the tournament will be over for him, don't you think?

Good Luck David :) Hopefully he can have a good run here and get some confidence back and some wins under his belt.

No. He has a 2-0 record against Cañas.

But Cañas is a very high level right now, we have to see how David is doing right now.
I still remember that great match between the two of them in the AO.

Yeah, you're right, but they both have to play their matches first before we can go so far as to predict the outcome of that matchup. For all we know, it may never happen-at least not for this tournament.

good luck in tokyo, david! :)
though I do not like this tournament very much, I hope daivd could get sth from it. confident, form or some other things.
as for canas, he played very well in shanghai and be in his best tennis. but we also have to admit that his opponent in final is more a lucky guy. when he encounters david, it will be a total different story. david is a big opponent to every player!
