Predict the Tie Score for the Davis Cup final?FryslanBoppe 09-26-2004, 05:47 PM What will be the score for the Davis Cup final? Marc Rosset is Tall 09-26-2004, 05:52 PM 5-0 to Spain, that is if they play both reverse singles. Boludo 09-26-2004, 06:05 PM Spain 4-1, with the Bryans winning the doubles, though I can imagine the great reception Roddick will get from the Spanish crowd and tangerine will be whining about it. roisin 09-26-2004, 06:38 PM i dont even think the doubles is a shoe in 4 the bryans. shud b a whitewash. YulBrynnerWasBald 09-26-2004, 06:39 PM At best the Americans can hope for is to lose 3-1, but I think it will be 5-0. *Ljubica* 09-26-2004, 06:45 PM 4-1 to Spain (with the Bryans winning the doubles), - or 3-1 if they don't play the last singles' match. Perhaps Spain could get disqualified if tangerinus whines enough about them "trolling" in her precious Andy's space  Crazy_Fool 09-26-2004, 07:00 PM If every player is fit i think it'll either be 5-0 or 4-1 to Spain. YulBrynnerWasBald 09-26-2004, 07:01 PM I am just having the big expectations of thrashings on the 1st day of the singles, though I am not that confident that Robredo should play on the 1st day of singles, not that should be a factor. roisin 09-26-2004, 07:46 PM no if its ferrero, moya, robredo & nadal in d team id say robredo wud b d last choice 4 a singles place but u never no... Fedex 09-26-2004, 08:10 PM 4-1 to Spain (with the Bryans winning the doubles), - or 3-1 if they don't play the last singles' match. Perhaps Spain could get disqualified if tangerinus whines enough about them "trolling" in her precious Andy's space  :haha: :rolls: Anyway Spain will win 4-1 or 5-0, but I voted 5-0 because its worse :p PerezRoldan 09-26-2004, 09:24 PM If they play the full 5 matches, then it will be 5-0. Fergie 09-27-2004, 12:50 AM Spain 5-0  tennis4eva 09-27-2004, 02:24 AM ;) Spain 5-0, Go Spain!!! I'm not cheering for my country on clay :o Fondueischguät 09-27-2004, 02:26 AM 3-1 with Spain not bothering about the last singles. Billabong 09-27-2004, 02:59 AM I hope Spain win:D!!! Auscon 09-27-2004, 03:16 AM where will it be played and on what surface? Register 09-27-2004, 03:20 AM On Clay in Spain. Auscon 09-27-2004, 11:49 AM Ah, well, I'm not sure what record Fish or the Bryan Bros have on clay, but I'll say spain 4-1 at worst SwissMister1 09-29-2004, 07:00 PM I'll go with 3-1 Espana. The Bryan bros. are good on clay, having won Roland Garros, and Nadal and Tommy don't play often together. Otherwise, Roddick can't even beat Mutis on clay, he isn't going to beat any of the Spaniards. Fedex 09-30-2004, 01:27 AM Ah, well, I'm not sure what record Fish or the Bryan Bros have on clay, but I'll say spain 4-1 at worst Fish is hideous on clay (even worse than Roddick), the Bryans have won the French Open dbls title, thats why people are saying 4-1 to Spain. They Bryans are USA's only chance to win a match. Black Adam 10-13-2004, 04:57 PM but unfortunately towards th end of this year moya and ferrero are not in great form so if guys like nadal and robredo it might be even closer. missroddickfan 10-23-2004, 11:28 AM Otherwise, Roddick can't even beat Mutis on clay, he isn't going to beat any of the Spaniards. I know that clay isn't the best surface 4 Roddick but you can't say he won't beat any Spaniards!! I hope USA win but it'll not be easy on clay. Anyway LET'S GO ANDY!!!! :D :D :D :D TaTaaa 10-25-2004, 01:42 AM Spain 4-1 claudine140 11-01-2004, 06:44 AM i do hope spain can win, but i am afraid too many injurys in the spanish team: moya, ferrero, robredo and nadal all injurys!!!! and if they are health where is there match rithme, such a long time since some players played and won a match!!!!! i am very very depressiv for spain.... and i do do hope moya can play in this final!!! and win it!!! because if he doesn't i am afraid it will be over and out for moya. User id 7816 11-01-2004, 09:51 AM ....If I knew Ferrero was as we know him, I wouldnt have had doubt he'll win both his singles, even if he was playing God....unfortunately and sadly he's been far from great and I'm kinda concerned for his matches....not sure how moya is.....but anyway, somehow I don't feel it will be that easy for the spaniards, it's just a bad feeling. I hope Im wrong, and I say 3-2 for Spain, they will win!!;) Golfnduck 11-02-2004, 10:17 PM LETS GO USA!!! MajorcanBoy89 11-06-2004, 05:30 PM USA 5-0 azza 11-08-2004, 02:26 AM 5-0 Spain :) Action Jackson 11-10-2004, 03:27 AM 4-1 Spain User id 7816 11-10-2004, 07:35 AM I wonder Spain gets a 3-1 lead, they probably wont bother with the last singles, like in 2001.... I♥PsY@Mus!c 11-10-2004, 09:19 AM maybe 3-2 spain! ESPecially Vamos Tommy :hearts: y Nadal!!! :rocker: Luna 11-13-2004, 02:11 PM Spain 4-1 or Spain 3-1 ( not bothering with the last singles) MissKoubek1981 11-13-2004, 06:26 PM Think Spain 3-1 not bothering with the last singles. USA will win the doubles match, but the other ... Nacho 11-13-2004, 06:48 PM I'll go with a 3-2 win for Spain HybridTheory 11-25-2004, 11:10 AM España 4-1 I hope 5-0 :yeah: Deco 11-25-2004, 02:21 PM heyy annet! you're back! Jennay 11-25-2004, 03:21 PM 4-1 Spain Deboogle!. 11-25-2004, 03:22 PM 3-0 spain, no dead rubbers played carole 11-25-2004, 05:08 PM it will be harder than you think for spain they will win, but it will be exciting CooCooCachoo 11-25-2004, 06:02 PM USA will shock everyone and win 3-2 But I hope Spain wins :D HybridTheory 11-26-2004, 03:23 PM heyy annet! you're back! Heyy :wavey:  Dankjewel voor je PM en de punten :D  Zie je binnenkort wel weer eens op msn :) Jorge 11-26-2004, 06:09 PM Spain either 3-2 or 4-1 Golfnduck 11-29-2004, 01:03 AM I'm hoping for the US to win 3-2. This would be accomplished by Andy winning his first match, then the Bryans winning, and then Andy winning again. I think he'll be really pumped for this match. Deboogle!. 11-29-2004, 01:45 AM being pumped doesn't necessarily mean being able to play well on clay  WyveN 11-29-2004, 02:09 AM I will go 3-2 Spain, although I am struggling to find where USA will pick up points. Deboogle!. 11-29-2004, 03:34 AM I am struggling to find where USA will pick up points. Well I think everyone would agree that the Bryans have a fair enough shot at winning - they like clay, they play their best in Davis Cup, and they are a much more accomplished team than Nadal/Robredo - and that includes clay results (RG champions, etc.). And, though *highly* unlikely, stranger things have happened than Andy winning one of his matches. Action Jackson 11-29-2004, 03:36 AM It will more than likely be 3-1 with the last match not being played. Leena 11-29-2004, 04:20 AM 3-2 USA. Socket 11-29-2004, 01:59 PM P-Mac has got to play Spadea to have a shot at this. If he does, there's an outside chance that Vince and Andy could each win one match, and I think the Bryans have a very good chance at winning their doubles. Chloe le Bopper 11-29-2004, 10:29 PM I picked 3-2 Spain just because you wrote "yeah right" beside it. ;) Chloe le Bopper 11-29-2004, 10:30 PM ^^ that, and I think that the Bryans have a really good shot at the doubles. If Ferrero is complete crap, which is entirely possible, he could well lose a match. Leena 11-30-2004, 01:18 AM My predictions: RODDICK (USA) d. FERRERO (ESP) MOYA (ESP) d. FISH (USA) MOYA (ESP) d. RODDICK (USA) SPADEA (USA) d. ROBREDO (ESP) BRYAN/BRYAN (USA) d. WHOEVER (ESP) Golfnduck 11-30-2004, 02:24 AM I think these are good predictions. I still think the Moya/Roddick match will be a toss-up. dubis016 11-30-2004, 05:25 AM Moya will likely win both of his singles rubber, with spadea carrying the hope on clay, for one singles rubber..I even think Spain will get the doubles rubber as well, which will make it 3-1, not bothering the dead rubber Ferrero Forever 11-30-2004, 09:29 AM I think 5-0, i love all the spanish tennis players, and i have faith in all of them and I think Nadal and Robredo have what it takes to win. I just hope moya doesn't choke, but even if he does he should still win. its.like.that 11-30-2004, 12:38 PM spain 3-1 or 4-0 Deboogle!. 11-30-2004, 02:57 PM My predictions: RODDICK (USA) d. FERRERO (ESP) MOYA (ESP) d. FISH (USA) MOYA (ESP) d. RODDICK (USA) SPADEA (USA) d. ROBREDO (ESP) BRYAN/BRYAN (USA) d. WHOEVER (ESP) Can't happen for two reasons - can't have 5 players, and apparently today PMac has officlally said that Mardy is playing. My guess is they won't play the dead rubbers like last year - I mean it really is stupid. So I still say 3-0. MAYBE 3-1 if the Bryans can eke something out but they've never been in the position of playing down 0-2 in the tie so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Leena 11-30-2004, 03:00 PM Can't happen for two reasons - can't have 5 players, and apparently today PMac has officlally said that Mardy is playing. Sorry for that error... I hate Davis Cup. Replace Spadea with Fish then. :p Deboogle!. 11-30-2004, 03:50 PM yea DC has a lot of weird, stupid rules lol Good idea... and what many of us wanted.. but Mardy's officially gonna play. And PMac might really regret it. Then again, it might not really matter at all. Vinny may be better on clay and may have had a better 2004 but it's not like he's known for his ability to step up in big match situations any more than Mardy is. Socket 11-30-2004, 04:26 PM Doesn't P-Mac have until later this week to substitute Spadea for Fish? Deboogle!. 11-30-2004, 04:44 PM yea but according to a few sites he's pretty much said there's no chance Spadea will play unless something really bizarre happens in the next 2 days Socket 11-30-2004, 05:30 PM yea but according to a few sites he's pretty much said there's no chance Spadea will play unless something really bizarre happens in the next 2 days Well, maybe P-Mac will develop some common sense, which I think would qualify as something really bizarre. ;) misyou25 11-30-2004, 05:45 PM all expect the bryans to win, but come on, its tommy/rafi on clay! it's the daily form which will decide. will be a cool doubles match. anyhow, in the end it'll be 2 all and the deciding match. cant really say. but: vamos los españolos! MissPovaFan 11-30-2004, 05:49 PM Roddick to beat Ferrero Roddick to beat Moya Bryan/Bryan to beat Robredo/Nadal Ferrero to beat Fish Moya to beat Fish 3-2 United States. (I would pick Robredo ahead of Ferrero for singles though but I feel Jordi will pick Ferrero.) Golfnduck 11-30-2004, 07:06 PM Roddick to beat Ferrero Roddick to beat Moya Bryan/Bryan to beat Robredo/Nadal Ferrero to beat Fish Moya to beat Fish 3-2 United States. (I would pick Robredo ahead of Ferrero for singles though but I feel Jordi will pick Ferrero.) I like your picks. :yeah: roisin 11-30-2004, 08:05 PM Even if Andy gets past JCF (which would be a near-miracle, imo), there's Moya waiting for him and even though Carlos is known to choke against Andy, I don't think that will happen at DC in front of his home crowd. wouldn't put it past jc to screw up, and i wouldn't put it past carlos to choke. im such an optimistic person! im just worried that the whole spain being favourites will backfire bigtime and usa will actually win... Socket 11-30-2004, 08:54 PM Seeing as how most people agree that Mardy is likely to get creamed in both of his matches and that the Bryan brothers will likely win theirs, it would appear that, once again, everything rides on Andy's shoulders. Even if Andy gets past JCF (which would be a near-miracle, imo), there's Moya waiting for him and even though Carlos is known to choke against Andy, I don't think that will happen at DC in front of his home crowd. Moya's matches with Andy in the past have been so close; DC would be the perfect place for Carlos to finally break away and get one over on Andy. Spain 3-2  I'm actually thinking that Spadea and the Bryan Bros. could be the heroes of this tie. But of course, that won't happen if Spadea doesn't even get off the bench. MissPovaFan 11-30-2004, 09:11 PM I'm actually thinking that Spadea and the Bryan Bros. could be the heroes of this tie. But of course, that won't happen if Spadea doesn't even get off the bench. I havent really been following this... but is Spadea out there then??? Scotso 12-01-2004, 12:25 AM Spain 4-1, with the Bryans winning the doubles, though I can imagine the great reception Roddick will get from the Spanish crowd and tangerine will be whining about it. Agreed. Deboogle!. 12-01-2004, 02:35 AM I havent really been following this... but is Spadea out there then??? I'm not quite sure what you're asking... but Spadea is in Spain with the team, but he is most likely not going to play. PMac has said over and over that he plans to play Mardy unless something really crazy happened this week in practice (like Vinny absolutely kicking Mardy's ass repeatedly or something). I think it's too bad but really when you think about it... Vinny is not known for playing big matches any better than Mardy. And it's not like he's won a clay title or anything to demonstrate that he's THAT much better on clay than Mardy (although I think he probably is) and he has losing records against most of the Spaniards even on non-clay surfaces... so.... yeah. I really think it doesn't matter who PMac picks, whether it's Vinny or Mardy, b/c they're all gonna lose anyway. Action Jackson 12-06-2004, 06:56 AM 12 people got the score right and congrats to those 12. Chloe le Bopper 12-06-2004, 07:47 AM Where's my prize? | |
