So next up for Reda is Qualifying in Brasil Open
He was seeded 40 in the list and as we know there are 28 direct acceptance in the Q Draw.
6 players withdraw from the tournament, so he's 34 and putting that there are probably 3 better ranked players to recieve wild cards in the main draw, so he'll be 31 and putting also the the SE field won't be taken by a lower ranked player, so Reda is probably now #29, so if only one other player withdraws or doesn't show up, Reda will be accepted into the qualies

Was thinking of starting a thread for Reda, good to see he has a couple more fans on here. Not a bad start to the year with a tight loss to Marco in Doha and then going down to Grigor in the 2nd round of AO qualies. Then made the semis in Bucaramanga where he went down to eventual champion Prodon in straight sets. Would have been nice to see him play Brazil qualies but that means he can now go home and prepare for the two Morocco Challengers coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Has someone any news about him ? He didn't play since the last RG (except a match he won in august in DC) and isn't rank anymore :( Too bad, two years ago he was 160th, could have been with Jaziri right now near top 100 without injuries...

I saw a video where he said he should be back in May also... but he's still not playing :(
I hope to see him back in 2013... 1.5 years without playing starts to become very worrying for his career

ATP says that you're inactive as soon as you didn't play a whole year I believe.

On his facebook page, his friends said he should've play the futures in Spain with a protect ranking (which wouuld be 399) but he didn't show up. He should be close to come back because he first try to come back for the F1 in Spain, then for the F4, so there is hope !!!

(Also it was said he should've play in Turkey the first future of the year, but didn't play it...)

I just found this topic. So sad what happened to his career  He could've been easily in top 100/80 by now. They were saying last year he would return in June but he didn't. Since then I haven't heard anything about him and Moroccan tennis is left with no top 500 player :o

He's back :woohoo: Playing an itf in Italy! Hope he comes back to his level before injury. Weird that he chose to play in Italy while there's a tournament in Casablanca though :p
