Now updated to the start of 2012.

Tipsarevic is a new entry.

Joachim Johansson has now retired. Also, I removed Mark Philippoussis as the rumours of a comeback never materialised into anything significant.

Updated to the present week.

Isner is a new entry

Fernando Gonzalez and Ivan Ljubicic have now retired. Thomas Muster has now effectively retired after his brief return, not playing even a challenger since 2011, with no immediate plans to resume his comeback.

One thing really remarkable is that eight of the current top-10 has been there for 133 weeks or more. I don't think this has ever happened before. And none of the eight appear vulnerable either, so the number will surely rise above 150.

This is true, although not consecutively. In my opinion, it represents a strong era in which it is hard to break into the highest rankings because the best players are generally so consistent.

I can't believe it's been over a year since I updated this page. Since then, Milos Raonic is the only new addition to the list while David Nalbandian, James Blake, and Nicolas Massu have all retired. I have amended a couple of the other records as on checking a couple were fractionally out.

Player Country First in Top 10 Last in Top 10 Weeks in top 10 Highest Ranking
David Nalbandian ARG 27/01/2003 16/02/2009 232 3

Estrange that Ferrer will still be trailing Hewitt and Davydenko for most of 2014. I would have presumed him ahead of them by now (I suppose top 20 is a completely different matter though). I also find interesting how Haas managed to get to world Nº2 with just 83 weeks in top10. Berdych tally will be quite impressive when he retires.

Thanks for the compilation, Greg Sharko (ATP shark bites stats guru should visit MTF to find new inspiration).

Do you keep an all-time one?
