Can anyone help me with info on how to buy tickets for the men's final at Roland Garros?

From the official website I understood that tickets will be on sale for the general public starting 23rd Feb; but will I be able to buy tickets then or are all applicants entered into a draw?

Any tips welcome! thanks

Hey guys.
I'm (hopefully) going for RG this summer and I know tickets are being sold on wednesday the 23rd. But do you know at what time they will be put for sale?

I was wondering the same thing. Don't know. I guess in the morning CET.

But then, what time in the morning? I've been searching their site and I just can't seem to find the answer...

RG on twitter said "morning CET" and didn't specify more than that... If you enter the ticketing site you can see a message about it being prepared for tomorrow, so I'll guess we'll have to start refreshing first thing in the morning :p

It started :) (And there's a 1000 people before me in the queue  )

Approximately how long did it take when you were around number 1000? I'm current 5000 (I was 4000, but then it kicked me off  ) I reaaaaally want fourth round tickets to Chatrier!

appleGirl
02-23-2011, 06:11 AM
It jumped pretty quickly from ~1400 to 1000 to 400 etc... I waited less than the time that was predicted by the site, I think.

thalle
02-23-2011, 06:26 AM
okay, at least that's something... How often did it load with you? With new number in the que? cause mine stays the same...
but sometimes it kicks me off, saying it cannot connect to the server... and then i have to reload my browser. i do not have the nerves for this!
it better have 4th round tickets available when i arrive!

Hey guys, are the orders still pending for everybody here? Mine is still labelled 'pending' when I go to my account details in the ticketing website. Is there some kind of lottery to this process, or have I really reserved seats by placing an order?

appleGirl
02-23-2011, 08:55 AM
I can't get into the website at the moment (waiting time of 1-2 hours ), but did you get a confirmation email? It's not a lottery, if you paid, it should be OK, as far as I understand.

I got this:

---
Your order has been well registered; the details of your order are listed in the table below. Please note that your order is currently being processed.

Subject to compliance with the provisions of the General conditions of Sale, your order will be confirmed once the payment transaction is finished.
---

Is that a confirmation email? Did you get anything besides that email? I'm really hoping I didn't err on the little credit card details when I submitted the form... :S

appleGirl
02-23-2011, 09:35 AM
That's what I got too.
If there was a problem with the credit card, it would've stopped you before that - for some reason the site didn't accept my credit card, so I had to use a different one... But I got the error message right away.

Awesome, thanks! I guess I'll be spending 4 days in Paris to watch the semifinals and championship matches :D

Yah I was charged. Go back to the website you bought the tickets from and check your account orders... it says "Confirmed" for me.

That is odd. Call the bank and confirm maybe, I did that last week and confirmed that a transaction took place.

Same thing happened to me. I bought tickets, money was blocked but nothing has appeared on my credit card statement yet.

Could someone tell me if it is allowed to smoke cigarettes at Roland Garros? I've read that in 2007 it was. I'd like to know if officials dealt with this inappropriate behaviour.

I'm having the same issues with my credit card. When I first ordered the tickets I could see that the money had been reserved and now that reservation had been removed but there;s n payment on my credit card statement. The ticketing website says that my order has been confirmed.

Same here, the transaction showed up on my online credit card statement yesterday morning. I guess it just took a bit longer to process everything compared to last year. Still nice to know everything is in order so I can start planning the rest of the trip:p

Just go queue early in the morning, there are always tickets to be sold on site. (though in a limited number by person)

I've always done like that and I'm going there for 6 years now  the number of tickets you can buy at once is limited though

I found a ticket for Tuesday and Thursday - still struggling for Wednesday. Viagogo doesn't have much showing up and when they do, they go very quickly :o

My usual quick analysis on the matches of my faves.
Will be there from the first day of qualifying up to Saturday of week 1, so plenty of matches to be seen. (mainly doubles during MD, too many people watching singles).
If I have a camera worth it, I'll try to post pictures.
You can request as many reports as you want, but bear in mind that I'll do my faves' match in priority.

I managed to get all my tickets in the end.

http://rolandgarros.billetterie.fft.fr is doing a thing where you can buy tickets for a RG showcourt in a pack with tickets for the Paris Indoors in November.

I used this to get a Chatrier ticket for Wednesday and I found a Lenglen ticket for Tuesday so I'm all set now :bounce:

2 x Tickets - Monday 23rd May 2011 - Ground Passes: Access to all courts (except Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen and Court No. 1)

I have a question for "dummies" (so for me) and probably for next year. I was reading about Ground Passes and do I understand correctly that
1. they don't give a person particular place on a particular court, but just access to see (almost) all courts. Is it correct?
2. can you buy them online (after tickets are available online)?
3. how much does Ground Pass cost (for a day)?

1 & 2 - Yes.
3 - It costs about 20 euros, you can check this year's exact prices here: http://staticrg.cdn.fft.fr/sites/rolandgarros.billetterie.fft.fr/files/RG2011-Tarifs_EN_0.pdf (In the second section, "General Public")

it's not so expensive, actually (for people who can't afford 300+ for one ticket). Thank you very much for sharing :worship:
