Can Andy Roddick Win a Slam in 2011

Andy Roddick can win a slam in 2011? He looks pretty promising so far in Brisbane. And honestly he always seems like he trys very hard and reallly wants to have more than he's gotten and have more of a legacy. Like when he lost Wimbledon final for third time, you could just tell how much it meant. And i know these things mean a lot to ALL players, but certainly some work harder and are more focused for than others. But i would love so much if anyone broke the dominance of nadal/Fed Grand slam wins, if it was him who did it this year. it looks like he's got a mad hunger in his eyes for it

Nope. Being broken every single match is not a good sign. Plus he didn't face any top15 so far.

Certainly, he has the heart...all he needs is to be more aggressive on the forehand and a draw that evades Federer.

I think he'll post another SF appearance in Melbourne, but it would be a real stretch for him to go any further down under. When Wimbledon rolls around, however, he'll surely be one of the five guys that could conceivably take home the trophy. I doubt he will, though.

I think it's too late for him, but who knows... maybe he'll finally get that Wimbledon title?

Yes - He'll be a threat at Wimbledon for sure.

No. He'll have to play out of his skin, hope for some defeats to other players that can take him out and maybe a kind draw for him to win a slam. He'll probably make like 4th-SF in 3/4 slams this year though.

No way. Even reaching a semi final will be very tough.

Dude has all the heart in the world, but it's still not gonna get it done.
Doing well in the early rounds of a 250 isnt much of a "sign".

Very unlikely. I think Wimbledon 2009 was the last time he will come even close to winning another Slam. He has the heart, but not the talent.

Will Roddick cumulate more than 10 winners during the Australian Open?

Tune in starting from 15th of January and find out!!!

This player has no game nor talent
The only possible answer is NO

I predict Roddick beating Nadal somewhere down the line.
I think he has that one left in him.

I still believe he's going to win one more slam before he calls it a career.

Unlikely. I really don't think he stands much of a chance in Roland Garros... and between the other 3 he would most likely have to beat Federer or Nadal to win, which he cant seem to do. He's 20-2 with Feds right now and never beat him in a final so :(

Like every other top player on tour, Roddick stands a chance if Rafa and Fed are eliminated.

But the chances anyways are pretty small. But to say no is wrong. Never say never.

His last great chance was Wimbledon 2009 and he blew it.

I agree that this could happen one day. It is really sad that he didn't beat Federer in 2009 at Wimbledon. That would've given him a much-needed second slam (in terms of his legacy) and a meaningful victory over Federer. That was certainly his biggest missed chance.

Can he win one in 2011? I'm not sure. As a Rafa fan, I'll say that a peak-playing Roddick may have a chance against Nadal (I can't say on which surface, grass or hard?) but he won't beat Federer as well (or at all) in a slam. With a kind draw and excellent play maybe he could win the Austrailian. I"m not sure he can win Wimbledon or the USO with so many threats at those slams right now.

I don't think so, it will be considered a big achievement if he manages to get to a grand slam SF again.

He just needs to avoid Roger Federer (a mental block I feel that Roddick will never get over), Roddick stands a chance against Nadal though at 3 of the 4 slams only if he plays out of his mind.

Wimbledon 2009 - his best chance ever of getting grand slam #2, and he blew it.

Honestly, he could win any of the 3 slams that are not on clay, but it would take a hell of a miracle for it to happen. I don't see him getting through Nadal, Murray, Djokovic and Federer to win Australia, Wimbledon, or the US Open. I applaud him for at least still kinda believing he can win a slam, but the reality is, the competition ahead of him is simply way too good, and unless he has out of this world luck, he probably won't win another slam during his career. If he did, I'd be super-shocked!
