Wow, that's an ass whooping by Kevin! The win was NID imo, Anderson is just better than Feli nowadays.
15 aces again from Kevin, in 8 games

Kevin has served tremendously in his first two matches, he could be hard to stop here if he keeps up his form.

F Lo still recovering from the festive season...

In two rounds combined Anderson has lost a total of 10 points on serve! That's 1st serves AND second serves.

Sexy Kebin!

I can't believe people are talking about Nadull in a match that doesn't concern him at all.

Yes, that has never, ever happened on mtf before.

This clown Lopez should have withdrawn.

Anderson had so far some silly opposition. Giraldo should put more resistance, maybe even win.

Lopez pulled out of dubz I think, certainly wasn't feeling well.

kevin anderson looks backable this season...

more bankable service stats like these might bring me out of a long retirement

Agree. It seems to be that he might have improved his all around movements since the last time I saw him one year ago (his tennis generally speaking was OK and I agree with you that his serve was really good)

he had high level tools...serve esp.... but, was very very patchy - at best...

perhaps he now has the strength base + experience to put in a atp tourney run...

but i'm particularly interested in anderson because of this 2010 result: TORONTO LOSS Hard R16 Nadal, Rafael
6-2, 7-6(6)

his aggressive style really took that match away from rafa at times... genuinely took it away... was like an attacker of the 90's without the experience playing nadal..

and following presser:

Q. You've clearly improved, you know, to the point where now just a couple points are determining the matches, and now as you're progressing to better levels of players, you know, first I was there for the Atlanta match with Isner where a couple points in the third set determined, you know, what was going to happen. Even here tonight with Nadal it was, you know, again just one or two points turns. Do you go back and look at video? Does your coach go back and see what could you have done differently? Is that something that you guys focus on?

KEVIN ANDERSON: Yeah, I definitely will try and get a copy of the match today. I haven't talked about it through yet, but, you know, just coming off the match, you know, my coach said he was pretty excited. I think there's a lot of stuff I can learn from the match and stuff that I can see what I have been working on and kind of a confirmation of that.
You know, just some of these matches these days, it's one or two points here and there that wins or loses matches. I think my last match against Querrey, that was a good one for me. I think I've come pretty close a couple times. I felt good making that break through.
Obviously today is a bit of a different level. I've just gotta get better. Obviously beating Nadal, you're just gonna have to play really well. But, you know, it's definitely a challenge. It's why I'm playing tennis. It was a great atmosphere and fun being out there. It's definitely something I'm going to strive to do more often.

Q. So just to bite on that a little bit, when you're training, are you working on these specific scenarios, doing certain things in certain moments like certain set plays?

KEVIN ANDERSON: Yeah, definitely. It kind of starts with my serve, setting up my plays with that, sort of serve and first ball, and returns I have been working pretty hard at.
And from the baseline just being more aggressive, just imposing myself more. It takes time, it takes work, but I think each match I'm starting to see improvements in all those areas.

they've been working hard behind that beast of a serve methinks...

A guy like Anderson display a clear strategy with his serve and first shot. He plays ok when he is under the control of the point but he has a LOT of troubles when he is being moved for a couple of shots around the court. I guess that I need to see a present performance of him to see if he might have improved on his all around movement which is under my opinion by far his weakness point.

Lopez is sick. He has virus.

I knew the spanish davis cup team was incestuous but for Nadull and Lopez to get the bug they really need a lecture on safety :p

Nice win for Anderson, he has underachieved since his win against Fakervic a few years ago. Hope he can get it together for a whole season.

Anderson has been improving rapidly for about a year now. Maybe a bit of a shame he gets his chance in a 250 where fed/nadal await at some point, rather than one of the weaker 250s where a final or even a title would be quite possible.
