There isn't any. It's for effect. It's label whoring. It becomes an addiction all its own. Total waste of time.

He is a trader, who came from a good family. He never needed to work, so all of this stuff was just the way he grew up. I can't completely hang him by the balls because he is very generous to everyone, and doesn't get on my case, or anyone else's if they DON'T have money. I do have to say that in his defense.

Not a chance. HE dumped ME. There is no mercy, no forgiveness, no reprieve. Once a man no longer wishes to be in my company, he will be held to that. :)

If you were born into the finer things then I can partially understand it - and if you have the kind of palette than can detect the differences, then so be it.

Me, I come from down below and wasn't given the chance to develop pretensions about quality and cost. And it suits me fine.

Okay so he came up well. I get it now.

I know how you feel. Once it's over, it's over for me too. Why people go back to their exes constantly is something I can't understand. I don't care how good the sex is, I just can't do it.

How about Henman making an O face while Stepanek hovers above him getting close to making his own O face...hand moving like a blur, back arching in worm-simulation movements, mouth open wide enough to pull passing objects in by sheer force of gravity...

I never understood the need to revisit either. They told you as much that they no longer required your services. ;)

This one dumped me because (according to him) I was unable to get over my terminal case of Peter Pan. :)

I predict though, tonight, he will be struggling to keep himself in check, as will I. Just because I don't want him no mo' doesn't mean I don't WANT him no mo'. You know there had to be a reason WHY I dealt with is nonsense for THREE years.

And i love you and your fat ass.:lick::hug:

 Right back atcha  :lick: :hearts:

Ok, so i am back from spending about 4 hours in the middle of the night swimming in Deb's rooftop pool (alcohol included & dj mixes as well) & of course drama had to happen (sofya would have seen it coming) me & my tall ass scraped about a third of my face along the bottom of the pool (PICTURE ME UNDERWATER SCREAMING "I HAVE BETTER NOT HAVE CHIPPED/LOOSED A TOOOOOOOOTH ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:eek:" then running out of oxygen )
Seriously i have a crazy teeth fixation and almost thought one was gone for sure, thankfully my strong genes prevailed and i am left with a scrape & an asymmetrical fat lip, fuck i hate that.:(

plus my neighborhood stalker (the security guard for our buildings) got quite a bikini-eyeful.:ras: -D I C K.
That brought todays total up to 3 guys who, during the course of the day tried to sidle up to me & make me their own...only for me to end up....!
...Needless to say jimmy is not happy & neither is Larah, but its all good, i laughed a lot today and that matters most:p:D

goodnight lovlies, i love you all.:wavey:

Did anyone else enjoy watching today's match? There were a lot of errors but I thought on the whole there was very high quality tennis. Also, with Hewitt's upped level of play, there was a lot of suspense as to the winner of the match.

Yes I did. It was great match from both guys. And it was neat to see Lleyton let out a few "Come ons!" and fought as much as he can.:worship:

Out of state probably isnt in the cards, due to scholarship things. The one im going for is one that pays 100% tuition, but only if i stay in-state. Awww. Don't be that depressed ever. Seriously. You'll have us worrying!

There's always a party/school balance, but it's best to err on the side of school until you get it under control.

I needed to as well. My hometown was stifling, and college gave me MUCH chance to grow. Depending on how bad it is, I'd advise lowering your visits home too. Everyone I know went home way more than I did my first year, but it helped me SO much.

I was going to go to the University of Southern California, but Ohio State gave me a full ride, so that had to be the option.

Hahaha. I'm a bit of a softie, too. I'm about to listen to David Gray. It's that bad sometimes.

I have no advice for the money thing. I had schools asking me to go and giving me full rides. Sorry. I'd apply for random ones online there are a lot of good sites and a lot of them are essay baised. If you are really pressed go around to local places and ask if they offer a scholarship and if you can have an application. Though lots of those ones are grade and activity based.

Fucking lucky :sobbing:

Yeah, ive looked around all summer for those scholarship things and essays and alot look good. Im gonna ask my College person councelour person at school about that

English major! We need to talk about books. I'm such a geek for classic literature. I was telling someone about "My mother is a fish." Today. If you don't know what that is from I'll lose faith in you Junior.

Yeah try the four year, then post grad, then a totally different doctoriate programe. I do school year round too. At least I'm done in January. I just have to do all the little extra things.
I'm an English major, but I'm not a big reader. I'm a rather good writer, and I'll make due with any type of art, but I'm not a huge literature reader. This summer, I've read all really recently written books to convince myself that all of the great writing wasn't done and over with years ago.

"My mother is a fish.", for instance. I can't place that. You'll have to lose faith for now, and gain it back.

Faulkner, As I lay dying. One Chapter, on page, one sentence. Seemingly random, but not at all.
Not a huge fan of the little "Faulkner" I've read, save the short stories being fun.

Yeah, and again, I"m weird in that way. I'm sure there is some Faulkner I could read and absolutely rave over its complexity and depth, and there is some that I'm sure I'd read and hate how convoluted and overcooked it is. I'm really both ways on things. Even on peer review of fiction workshops, I'll praise simplicity in one story, and complexity in the other.

Life isn't simple or easy for everyone. Each economic background comes with it's own issues and they each have the same kinds of people in them.

I don't feel bad for poor people or envy them. They are people like me. I have struggles, so do they. Neither of us are more important in the grand scheme of things. Unless we do something to make ourselves stand out as people.

I hate being judged. I've accepted it, but I hate it. I'm judged for being a girl, having money, being pretty, being Russian. Everything. Assumptions are made daily. Some extremely horrible and hurtful. None are ever right. Thankfully I'm used to them and can move on.

Sorry. It's part of my vernacular. If you're not wildly older, all friends get kiddo. Another thing I like to use that might confuse you all is "We're like sisters!" I know I'm male. Got it. Doesn't matter. Even two males are "like sisters"!

Yes, you don't have to tell me. I'm well aware. All of the stories I write are about the wealthy. Poor people problems bore me, but I love to shed light on the fact that even the people with the quote-unquote "least" problems don't have a shortage by any means. Though, that's becoming a popular movement too, high class problems.

The problem is you're always judged against the average, so the average will always cast your life as more carefree. You're pretty, so why should you complain about looks-related issues? You're wealthy, so why should you complain about class issues? And so forth.

Again, everyone has problems. There are problems you don't have now that I"m sure plenty of wealthy people have, and vice versa. But it's all about how you frame it, too, you know. A poor person's going to say "Would you rather worry about how you'll eat from paycheck to paycheck then?"

And a rich person might say "Would you rather not mean anything to your family, and only be seen as a status symbol or less important than the family's interests?", etc, etc. Not saying either of those describes anyone here, but everyone has different problems that can or cannot be extreme.

I know everyone is judged it's why it doesn't bother me. You're judging my life right now and it doesn't bug me one bit.

The grass is always greener till you get there. Being rich isn't just the nice house, to many cars and hot chicks. It's work, it's image, and it's hard. People aren't just magically rich. I have my own money right now, that I worked for, not my daddy's money that he worked hard for. Not till I'm 21 anyway.

You think spending your days pretending to be some magical version of perfect is fun, you keep dreaming. I hate to say it, but the amount of anamosity and judment I get, mostly comes from people who aren't as well off. I don't understand it and I don't like it, but that's how it is.

Even being poor, I don't get the real downside there. So you have to work hard. So do most people unless they are lazy and then even if they have money they go nowhere.

I agree. Money is a tool and is only as useful as the person using it.
However,I grew up far from rich and want to eventually be rich.
Exactly.

There is no problem with wanting money and working for it. Money makes some things easier. It's one less worry, that's it.

The problem is you're always judged against the average, so the average will always cast your life as more carefree. You're pretty, so why should you complain about looks-related issues? You're wealthy, so why should you complain about class issues? And so forth.

Probably because we've seen tons of people who are indeed well off and are snobs about it or assholes about it, so we assume (wrongly) that all are like that.

Even being poor, I don't get the real downside there. So you have to work hard. So do most people unless they are lazy and then even if they have money they go nowhere.

You know it goes either way. Even in your post a little..I mean, I'm not saying it's impossible, but I"m almost certain that the poor's definition of hardwork and the rich's definition are rather shockingly different. I've lived without heat in the Russian fall almost winter because repair people felt like they could rip me off money wise and take their time. We don't need to keep compairing sob stories. You don't get the bad parts of my life, okay. I'm not going to list out the various things I've been through personally. Mon and Kelli know about them.

Haha hot double team.

I'm not saying both sides don't have issues or that my problems are worse. I'm just saying I have them and it isn't easy, at all.

My idea of hard work.

Going to school year round weekends included, working (two jobs at one point), watching my little sister who lives with me, then getting stellar grades.

My idea of hard working isn't sitting in an office signing papers.

Nobody expects you do list your sob stories, but know you're not doing it in vain. Jonathan's learning a lot, I hope, about the thigns you go through, as, I hope, you do from listening to him, even if you already knew more about poor strife than he did about rich strife. I'm a HUGE proponent of open dialogues, and being as candid as possible, so I give a major KUDOS to both you and Jonathan, and even myself, and anyone else who puts themselves out there online or anywhere else so public. Even if we don't know each other personally, we know names and are friends on some level.

We're an amazing double team, and don't you forget it.

Again, I wasn't trying to trivialize your problems at all. I think it's wonderful that despite everyone's apparent problems here, for instance, we're all great, fun, fucked-up (but isn't everyone?) people.

Yes, yes he will.
He will triple bagel Nadal 6-3 6-3 6-3. (I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself.)

Seriously, I think Federer might just win it next year.

I want poor Roger to win it. He deserves at least one so much.

IF he wins the USO and the AO, the French can be the Sampras-tying 14th, and Wimbledon can be the Borg-beating and Sampras-beating 6th/15th. It's just ALL so perfect.

He sucked it up hardcore this year. I think you'll be able to tell by the early rounds if he's going to stand a chance. This year was shit for Roger. All around not just at RG.

It's not a big deal. I've lived both sides of this talk. I've been living on my own since I was 16 paying my own bills and working. I did have some money from the family, but it was with my own money, just enough for a lower middle class set up. I'm not just some rich girl who has daddy buy her everything.

If a situation like Hamburg occurs and Nadal gets knocked out in the SF, Roger would win. (Ex - Rafa runs into Q, claymug, Monaco, Canas, Davydenko,Hewitt, then is knocked out) But I don't think Fed'll win more than 2 slams if he wins the French. He's going to have to sacrifice to get it.My perfect combo is Fed with FO and Rafa with Wimbledon.

My school is need-blind, so you get accepted regardless of financial situation, but then hear nothing about your ability to receive aid until later. Sofya, J'Torian, and Meeny -Thanks for sharing your stories. +

My parents were educators and far from rich but I had extreme difficulty escaping the trappings of even the lower middle class lifestyle. My parents were very controlling and still try to be.

I got into the school of my (then) dreams but my fin aid included a sizeable parental expected contribution. They were not going to take out any loans or spend a dime for me to go anywhere but :tape:. I was practically threatened to be disowned and I caved and went to a school of their choosing. :o Thus there is a bitter taint on my whole college experience.

This time around though I made my own decision and moved far far away. Of course, I'm in debt up to the eyeballs but .

 I have a friend in a very similar situation right now. She's a brilliant published endocrinologist, yet her parents think she's worthless and refuse to pay for her education. It kills me.

I'm lucky, my parents love me unconditionally and will bend over backwards to make me happy. I have no desire to get away from them, quite the opposite - I'm running back home the second school is over .

My family story is very difficult though, and I cannot tell you the hardship that my dad and my grandparents had to go through to give me my comfortable situation. Everyone has something

The funny thing is even with my fingers being short and stubby my hands are big enough that they can stretch 1.5 octaves on the piano. VERY convenient.

I hate lifting too, but that's because I'm WEAK. I never started, so I just settle on being lean and stuff. I'm one of those "no muscle to be found, no extra fat to be found" people. I hate it, but I SUCK at consistent exercise.

As for the discussion about wealth: everyone, rich or poor has problems. However, let's not kid ourselves here. Being poor means you have to deal with some basic problems such as lack of health (no access to quality medical care), lower quality of life (in terms of education, nutrition, available resources, safe environment etc). At that level these problems are most likely to keep you from achieving your full potential because you are struggling to make ends meet.

When you come from a wealthy family, (apart from not having to deal with the above mentioned problems), even if you decide to stand on your own feet and work hard to support yourself (as Sofya wrote earlier), even then your name, family connections etc. will open doors for you. It's a distinctive advantage IMO not just comparing to a poor person but also to a middle class person.

I just think that most people given the choice would rather have rich-people problems than poor-people problems. Whether we like it or not money makes life much easier. It gives you the feeling of security, confidence and a variety of choices in life.

Don't get me wrong though. I am not talking about happiness here.

And just to clarify, I come from a lower middle class family but I have also interacted with both wealthy and poor people.

I actually have to be careful with weights because if I lift heavier weights or do it more often than I do now, I gain muscle REALLY fast. :o It happened to me in the past - I gained a LOT of muscle and was consequently always tired, always hungry, and getting sick all the time. So right now I walk a fine line so that I don't go totally soft but at the same time don't walk out into the world with Rafa arms. :o I don't like the bulky look anyway.

Yeah, that's the other thing. I suck at motivation to exercise. Because I have to so little fat, whenever I work out consistently for like...a week, I look really fucking good. It's the way my mind works that I'm OK with not looking that amazing because I know that I can call it up. It's like being able to be really nice lookign without it keeps me from having to knock it out of the park.

I want a new crop of young guys to battle against the current young guns when Federer's reign ends. When Fed/Rafa's dominance no longer looms over everyone's heads, many guys will have a lot to prove. Now you can say, who can beat Federer at a slam (besides Nadal on clay)? But in the future, that'll be a moot point.

Of course I mean far into the future like at-least-6-more-slams-w/FO-for-Fed into the future.

I want tennis at the OK Corral with a new sheriff in charge every couple of months.

 I'm so sorry. :sobbing::sobbing: Even if Tommy Robredo secretly has a vajayjay I wouldn't be switching sides. :awww:

Yeah, see, that's not a good thing necessarily. My dad's side of the family tends to fat, so I have to work out in order to maintain my body and I eat VERY healthy, though my diet isn't 100% raw like Kelli's. It helps my motivation that I don't want to have anything to do with my dad's side of the family, including body shape. But I notice that with a lot of people who've always been naturally shapely, like the guys on my mom's side of the family, it's really hard for them when they get older to learn healthy eating/exercise habits which are even more vital as one gets older.

1. Ugh. I hate "Vuh-jay-jay." Effing Grey's.

2. Yeah. I reckon I'll be fucked or require a massive overhaul when I'm that age, but right now I"m too arrogant/selfish to do anything but be like "Man, I'm the shit. I'll do what the fuck I want." But you can be the sexy 50 year old who laughs at me when I look like shit.

I hate the "Federer wins are the boring!" threads. I'm like "It's not like he's winning and playing boring shit tennis. At least a few of every 15 or so shots he hits are like :worship:, so just be happy. You'll be back to your Australian Opens won by ToJo someday."

:haha: Fantastic.

I don't care about those threads. I don't like the Andy is the most horrible person to ever walk the face of the planet threads. And the Marat your over rated go retire and die now threads.

Bed time for me to. No meetings tomorrow, but it's my last day with my house guest and I want to enjoy him properly. Which means I need to go cuddle with him and get a good night's sleep :D

:haha::haha: Yes, all pedophiles and murderers are Scorpios, all asexuals are Virgos, all fatties are Tauruses, and all Pisceans are drunks. :cuckoo:

How about Leos?

 Thanks, and great comments on the wealth thing. Interesting you bring up Greece because one of my mother's biggest regrets, which I didn't hear from her until I visited her a short while ago, was that she didn't immigrate to Europe (or Canada) in the 1970s and instead came to the US. :tape: She was all: "Had I known about the free schools and health care we would have gone there in a heartbeat. But it was all about the US back then."

Imagine, you could have been a Parisian now. :D

1. We are. I think it's a function of hearing Roger pound it in so much at first. So the choice comes, and its' like "Roger wins a 6th consecutive Wimbledon" or "Roger finally wins the French Open", it's like "Well...he doesn't really NEED a French, does he? A lot of people don't have one."

And yes, you're right. Really, after winning 3 of any major in a row, you just REALLY start to be a dick. It's like "We get it. Move on, you jerk."

2. Flatterer.

 I was only stating my opinion

So are you saying that we Rafa fans will be dicks if we want Rafa to win another RG trophy or are we entitled to 5 in a row?

:spit: I would so quote that in my sig except that 99.99999999% of MTF would take it the wrong way. :o :haha::haha:

 It's the thought that counts.

He was a turus too so he should have been a fatty. Clearly this astrology stuff is shit.

Yes, that's exactly that I'm saying! It's certainly OK. We Federer fans are dicks for wanting another Federer Wimbledon, except we've been dicks since 2006!

And RAfa can win another eventually, but really...who needs any slam 4 effing times in a row?

We Federer fans are going to be going into "dick mode" (Doesn't that sound exciting?) for the U.S. Open too. He doesn't need another one in a row, really.

I have very large relatives on both sides of my extended family. So, I'm on the lookout for changing metabolism:unsure:. I admire your effort, exercise habits and your discipline. Your fingers aren't that chubby.;)

I've been slowly improving my diet and plan to actually use the school gym more than twice this semester. :help:

:) Just keep your body relatively free of tobacco/alcohol and other carcinogens/toxins, eat more vegetables, and be active. With your body type that should be all you need for a long time.

And if you don't like the idea of Tommy with a vajayjay, we can always say he has a bajingo. :D

Indeed! Night Sofya!

Yeah..I do pretty well at avoiding alcohol/tobacco with EXTREME moderation (almost none), and...well...vegetables is an issue, but I'm pretty active too.

So maybe I"m SAFE!...for a bit.

Not me, in high school and beyond a large portion of my friends were Gemini girls. :hearts:

And you know I can't help the diet talk! :haha:

I have a reputation as a player because of that Gemini label. I have one thing to say about that.......IT'S TOTALLY TRUE!

Diet talk is awesome. I am eating Dandelion greens, J- I'm getting invincible, I swear. :woohoo:

EDIT: Larah knows- she's a Gem also. We are notorious man-izers. :aplot:

I had a huge salad too- sun dried tomatoes too. :lick:

My body fat is the lowest is has been...but I will have to get help for my Tursunoving. Tis a woman's lot in life.

On that note I have a question for Jonathan that's going to make me look really bitchy, but other's know why I'm asking. You just went to Europe and you said you went to the tournament near you a lot. Neither of that is really inexpensive, if you are worrying about getting bills paid how can you spare the money for that?

Oh no, not bitchy at all, love

The tournament ive only gone to Key Biscanye since 04, and when i go, its not like its EVERY day. Usually i go when my cousin is working the entrace turn stiles so we can sneak in for free, but i dont have to pay usually  For instance, this year, a lovely poster here sent me some tickets in the mail as she wouldnt be using them (Love you :smooch: ). And she's a Fedtard too, and it was the day Canas beat Federer  As for Delray Beach, its like 5 bucks a day, chump change

Now, the Vienna thing is different. I had to lobby to about every member of my family to get the funds in  My mom paid about 2% of the total funds  Family down in Haiti, Guadeloupe, Brazil, over in Madrid and Barcelona, everywhere

Ohmygod, YES, exactly! That's pretty much what happened with me. You need a  too. :D

The US school system needs a complete overhaul. Aid should be need-based and merit-based, and at the very least public universities should be completely free. But perhaps that's just the big old socialist in me speaking. :D

Some public unis over here (PBCC) arent free, but are extememly cheap.
