I am convinced that there are posters here, who are truly delusional. Like "the elevator/lift doesn't reach the top floor" type of delusional.

I go into GM for an occasional trip into madness, knowing full well how the song will be the same...every once in awhile though, I am still surprised. :haha:

I just wish they'd put it out there for free. Want to expand your audience? At FIRST, give it away, like a new artist gives away their demo cd.

After the following grows, THEN start charging. I just see the marketing machine going off in the ditch so much that it's insane.

They did do a free trial of it - for Indian Wells last year - but it was for ONE tournament and it was before the product was really ready for it.

I signed up and paid for it last year anyway because I'm an early adopter and I want to support the moves they're making in this direction, even if it is slow, clumsy and unimaginative because it's better than nothing.

But yes.

What they should do, of course, is add the final feature that is missing - the ability to watch complete matches on demand and not just a crappy 3 minute highlight reel.

Once they've added that, do another free trial to get people to sign up for it.

What they should do is make the service available to Mac users.

The weird thing is that it worked fine okay for me last year - I watched Robredo win Hamburg, and I managed to catch some other matches later in the year, though I don't remember which tournies. Then all of a sudden, nothing works and there's a notice or something on the site saying that Macs aren't supported.
Well they started doing live streaming last year in Hamburg or it may have been Toronto - but later on they added in the DRM stuff and that is what will have broken it on macs.

And yes they did not solve that problem pronto as well.

This method of delivering content is the future - it will become increasingly important as the distinction between the computer and the TV becomes ever more blurred. Given the appalling state of media rights around the world for tennis - some markets having little or no coverage and others coverage spread around 3 or 4 channels like a complete mess - it's an excellent way to get tennis out to people who want to see it. Their efforts so far are a bit better than adequate but could be so so much better.

It likely will be - Roddick is just making no impression at all on the Ferrer game today. I know it's too late but I wish someone would sort his groundstroke technique out - I wince every time I watch him stop, wait for the ball to come to him, take a big swing at it that takes a lot of energy and then it just sorta doesn't go far or do much that's impressive.

Kitty de Sade

But if I'm in a particularly evil mood I like to put them on the spot with lines like: "Why are you asking? If you want to go out with me you better send some frickin' flowers." That goes over well.

Either that or asking, "What about me seems particularly gay to you?" - 'cause that way you put them on the spot for their assumptions and stereotypes.

I just find it so intrusive. Maybe that is just me. It's none of anyone else's business unless they want to have a formal committment with you. If that is the case, then I understand it. So and so is gay, and the other person is not, then of course you need to know in order to manage your feelings/life/etc.

As fodder for casual conversation, however, it's just so....inappropriate. I know I sound like a broken record, but you are not entitled to any information that someone doesn't willingly provide for you.

I'd say it depends. I wouldn't say it's completely off of the table in casual conversation, but obviously there's some sort of attention that ought to be paid to common courtesy and the questioner/answerer's feel on it. I know some people who it wouldn't be inappropriate to ask if you just happened to bust in from the street and say it, and some who it wouldn't really be appropriate to ask if you were best friends.

There are some things about me which are pretty stereotypical but a lot which aren't:

Stereotypical: Love to cook, dance, go to the gym. Like to work out but bad at contact sports and hate team sports. Most of my best friends are women (though lately I've had less patience for a lot of them  ). I moisturize, wear sunscreen, exfoliate, etc.

Not: I couldn't give a shit about fashion, designer jeans, etc. I only like high-end clothing if it's well-constructed and flattering, and 95% of the time it's not. I watch tennis but prefer watching the men; a lot of gay guys seem to prefer watching the girls. I actually enjoy a bit of American football, partly because I grew up with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s. And I hate Cosmos.

What's funny about it is that these are the same people who complain that gay people are too "in your face" with their lifestyle and should keep their love/sex lives hidden away and to themselves.

I can only speak for myself, but I have found that most of my friends are so conscious about NOT being in your face that they are often subdued in certain social circles. I wish it need not be so, even though I understand why they are more catious than usual.

 I've gotten that several times, mainly in response to my oral skills. :aplot: :bolt:

 The gym I go to is a straight-guy mecca, as well. My gaydar is pretty good but it hardly gets any pings there.

I don't know, I just like what I like. I hate the idea that cooking and dancing and taking care of your skin are seen as "gay things" - why can't people just have their interests without being categorized? I love a lot of things that are stereotypically gay/effeminate or whatever but I see myself as 100% male.
My gaydar is appalling, but that's because I think the ranking of people I get hit on by is something like:
1. Straight Guys
2. Straight Girls
3. Gay Guys
4. Gay Girls (Never)

It's no basis for trying to be like "He's totally gay!"

And I was by no means saying otherwise, don't get me wrong. Though I'm sure you were'nt implying I was.

It's all bullshit but for some there's this inherent need, upon meeting a new person, to "figure them out" as soon as possible - classify them and judge them based on it, basically.

The problem is, of course, that any answer other than "no" to the question is immediately assumed to be "yes"

I had this friend at school who legitimately spend the first half of the year trying to "figure me out", and then she couldn't, so she finally was OK with that.

Yeah. A lot of people only think in "straight and gay", and a lot only think in "straight, gay, and bisexual". It's hilarious when I have to tell them that it doesn't really work that way. It's like they can't get their mind around it logically.

Yeah, I'm not usually like that but at work I tended to put a distance between myself and my male co-workers and mask my personality somewhat. Not because they were necessarily anti-gay but because when I lived on campus at Brown I was totally open and got accused by this one guy of sexual harassment when I thought I was just being friendly and "one of the guys." And this boy was originally from SF. Ever since then I've been a lot more formal around male acquaintances and co-workers.

Even if MArcos ends up winning this match (highly unlikely at this point as he keeps donating points to Roger) his coach should give him a good spanking afterwards.

This reminds me of the E! True Hollywood Story of "The Real World" and there was this very pretty lesbian girl whose name escapes me right now who had issues with the MTV producers. Because she was so pretty and so not butch, they couldn't wrap it around their heads that she was a lesbian. She said that they would make cracks about if she wanted to have straight sex, give them hints and even tried to make it look like she had something going on with a guy. Pathetic really.

Even though that was in the early 90's, things really haven't changed from what I can see. People still think in narrow little categories and treat certain folks like stereotypes and not actual people.

I LOVE the guy- just like human blow, honestly...but even I have my limits when my loyalty is tested.

Either DO or do NOT do. Don't sit in the middle of the fuckin' street, just waiting to get run over. You want to fight, FIGHT. You want to retire, RETIRE. Do not go into something and just shrug your shoulders. Put your heart and soul into it, pick side and DECIDE, once and for all.

On the other hand............:p

The guy is financially set, provided he didn't shove all of his earnings up his nose, down the g-strings of strippers, or blow it on the backs of thoroughbred race horses. ;)

No, shes not a fat guy in disguise :awww: She's gorge :hearts:

There are some things about me which are pretty stereotypical but a lot which aren't:

Stereotypical: Love to cook,

I do

dance

I do

go to the gym.

Uh oh, i do that too :scared:

Like to work out but bad at contact sports and hate team sports.

Negative.

Most of my best friends are women (though lately I've had less patience for a lot of them  ).

SAME!!!!!

I moisturize, wear sunscreen, exfoliate, etc.

Moisturize, sunscreen, not exfoliate, but i do some yoga, to stretch myself out, it really helps with back pain and spine straightening.

Not: I couldn't give a shit about fashion, designer jeans, etc. I only like high-end clothing if it's well-constructed and flattering, and 95% of the time it's not.

eh, im a bit into fashion, i mean, i know about it and can hold my own in a convo, but i dont go out of my way to wear and flaunt it

I watch tennis but prefer watching the men; a lot of gay guys seem to prefer watching the girls.

Same here. Although Miss Ivanovic is making me love WTA

Yoga :hearts: If I had more time I'd do yoga and swim and play tennis regularly.

I dont do much swimming, but i'd like to, its another great exercise, but i play tennis almost everyday.

And you make my point for me - it's lame that certain traits and interests are considered more gay when plenty of straight guys are into them.

Ive been called gay many times :retard:

I don't watch American football often these days but if the 49ers are playing I can't help but watch. I grew up with Joe Montana, Dwight Clark (though I was REALLY young when he was around), Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, etc. :hearts: And Steve Young, of course.

Plus they were local - Joe Montana had a house in my neighborhood when I was growing up; Jerry Rice's daughter went to my high school; and I had a piano recital at Randy Cross's house once because his daughter and I shared the same piano teacher.

Dolphins have always been my team. Back in the day, Dan Marino's kids went to my Middle School

Everything that means anything is done through networking and/or referrals. The best part of my education came by way of gladhanding, manipulation, and the like.

Mmm. Careers. I need to write.

I was thinking of starting a fun game to pick my next story where people give me a CD title and a track listing from it and I write a story inspired by the names, but I want to wait until I'm actually mentally in the state to write, or it will be a waste.

I love when people ask interesting questions. What exactly are you stuck on, sir?

EDIT: I guess that goes for anyone. This is an easygoing chat thread, but especially given the fact that I"m a new person, don't feel over the line if something interests you or you want to ask something personal, yada-yada, etc. You all have time to know each other, and I'm a rather quick person to get acquainted with, so throwing things down on the table is fair game. Thanks....yeah I stayed so I could get some stuff done without interruption! Plus I'm fighting with my health insurance over their denial of some stuff, so I had to deal with that. I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday. :)

All that needs to be said has been said in there ;)

:yeah: :p

It was his understanding you would fuck, and it was your understanding that he didn't have to realize you wouldn't for as long as possible?

No smarty pantaloons. The understanding was that I didn't NEED to fuck to ace his class and have the papers I wrote for him forever immortalized at the reference desk at the library.

The dickhead patrol that believes a chick must be EITHER sexy or smart, but not BOTH, thought he was slipping me the hot beef injection. They were totally wrong. :)

Gaudio, that wuss.

The two of you sound awfully guilty is that a guy thing or are you guilty? I make arbitrary statements that have nothing to do with anything that's been happening all the time. Interesting.

Jonathan, if you know I've had a shitty day then it's not a good time for your drama queen jokes.

Guilty of what, exactly? I just wanted to liven your mood with a DQ joke and a v hug. :awww:

Kelli you know sexy and smart isn't allowed. It scares the men folk.

That sucks so bad. I think I know how you feel I'm trying to deal with getting insurance. I've never needed it now the state I live in mandates it and I have no idea what I'm doing. Luckily I can put it off another few months.

With any luck you will have a very quick day tomorrow.

Thanks....good luck with the insurance thing. I actually have good insurance, and they paid on the claims for the treatment for the first two months, then suddenly denied them. I finally find a good dermatologist and the treatments are working and now I'm being told it is cosmetic. When you are 34 and still dealing with acne, it isn't cosmetic damnit!

K..I feel better now that I got that out.

Clearly you are missing out on the point of fucking a professor. Nobody ever NEEDS to fuck a teacher to get a good grade, but it's like an added bonus. You get to fuck (an authority figure, no less!), and you get rewarded for doing something you love.
