That's the thing, the 4.0 in high school was nothing. I didn't do much of anything for that. It comes naturally to me. Being a good student, I mean. Drives most of my friends nuts. And the 3.7 in college is much the same. It's a bit harder, but I don't do anything outside of the norm. I don't kill myself over it. I don't have to exert that much energy, and I'm still exhausted. That's how I know I'm done for now.
I'll never forget getting yelled at by my Honors program friends for pickign up the book for my Spanish final literally five minutes before I had to leave, and being like "What should I look at?"

Nothing is a better soul feeder than live theater. I have been on both sides of it. It pays nothing, of course, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything on earth.

The immediate gratification of an audience's applause for you- there is NO equal. :)
I"m not really the acting type, though. Though, in all honesty, I've never tried.

I have a bunch of friends who are actors. They're all crazy. I have a bunch of friends who are musicians. They're all crazy. I work with a bunch of musicians, and they are the craziest of all.

Haha...I know that feeling. I literally wrote a 10 page English paper my Freshman year in about 2 hours, the day it was due...and I got a perfect '100' on it. My friend who slaved over that paper for 2 weeks got a 70. Needless to say she was not happy with me.

And acting is fun! Try improv if you ever get the chance. It's both terrifying and exhilarating. I'll never forget those experiences.

Well, and that's it. Everyone else is scandalized by it, but I'm like "I just write, and that's what I like." Though I can understand people being like "You wrote a story, and I read it, and it was AMAZING!...and then what? Nothing."

It's just finding a way to get paid for something you love, rather than caving and doing the safe job for the next 50 years or whatever, all along looking at the clock, waiting for your gold plated watch and retirement benefits to kick in.

You'll take a ton of heat for not caving, and risking things. Life is worthless and meaningless without risk. If you have the heart of an artist, searcher, soul-stretched-over-the-abyss type, and you choose to ignore that, you'll never be happy.

I wasn't about to do it, and I didn't. I worked hard, paid the price, and I live my life on my own terms without any concern about what my parents, society, or the moral majority thinks of it. Works for me. :)

They should go out and get laid more instead of being concerned about the actions of others.

I know it has nothing to do with me, but I just yelled at him over it. No bueno.

I hardly venture into GM at all anymore. Especially not on days like this when Rafa loses. People are just downright rude and stupid. It's sad, because there are rational and sane people there who know how to get their point across without turning into a belligerent fool. It's just hard to find those people sometimes. I am certain that it is possible to discuss tennis and the men who make their living playing it without the antagonizing, chest beating, and venom spewing. Or maybe I'm mistaken, I don't know.

Yeah, days that Rafa loses are like fucking Xmas for some people.

That's a good healthy attitude. :) And it's so true.

His favorite person to argue with is right in this thread. ;)

At first I thought I read "Kelli, that girl is so fake." Considering my present state...:haha:

I will always feel the urge to defend you, even though you need none. I am that type- no question.

I was with my ex-goyfriend in a restaurant in WeHo years ago. Two scumbag homophobes were making cracks, and I got up from the table with a platter in my hand, ready to start swinging. Yeah, all of 5'2", I know.

He yelled at ME. I couldn't believe it.

Sit down. What do you plan to do, act like a savage and get yourself arrested? Trust me, you are not helping us or our situation that way. Go and hit them and you will be no better than they are.

So I sat down. :ras:

Now I realize what he was trying to tell me. ;)

EDIT: I totally agree- when Nadal loses, I couldn't be more absent, and I'm not even a fan. That's how unpleasant it is.

What a gangsta you are. :rocker2:

I have no problem telling the truth. It is wonderfully written, and the characters are totally developed. It rocks. The triangulation and angst that Michael feels, being in love with his wife, and yet feeling total anger towards her- awesome.

Perfect touch to have him call her, fumbling around and swilling scotch as he awaits the arrival of Julie, the whore, who plans to deliver sex to the door.

It exposes the weakness of human beings, and shows beyond a shadow of a doubt, WHY men and women are fundamentally incompatible, save that one goof that god made, where each wants to fuck the other, whether literally, figuratively, or both.

I do not enjoy the depiction of heterosexual sex, whether in porn or in story, but that is not a reflection of success of it's content. That is my personal preference. I am ALWAYS the sexual overlord. I cannot relate to the idea of penetration for male pleasure's sake. But that, like I said, is just me.

I am very artist sensitive. Even when I am not a fan of something, I always will compliment, because it takes jumbo coconut balls to put your art out there, which is, of course, an extension of the artist.

Well...the convo started with him telling me that his GF has told him that she is selfish in bed, and he has hesitations regarding that. For him...he said it was important for the other person to put forth effort and creativity, not just him. The GF told him she may need to be trained, and he wasn't sure he was up for that. She hasn't been with very many people, and he indicated that she had a hard time wrapping her head around being creative.

Basically I asked him if it would be worth it to be willing to "train" someone. Speaking as someone who has very little experience, this was of interest to me. He agreed that in some respects, everyone needs to be "trained" a little by their partner...but he really didn't elaborate much more than that.

We sorta just left the conversation there.....

Hmmmm. I was joking, but it can mean whatever you like.

Undoubtedly, it's an asinine thing to sling shit at artists when you're not doing it, but at the same time, it's a fact that art has to speak to people, and if it doesn't, it's failed in its quest. It doesnt' have to appeal to everyone, and it's up to the artist in question to decide their audience (My other story in that class got a comment because it had a few words of Spanish in it. When asked if I was willing to alienate certain audience members, I said "Absolutely."), but it does have to do some work.

And I know you were honest, and I know I made it easy. The artist knows if what they did was shit, but I can't tell you to feel me and my vision. It's up to you, and you alone. And maybe you'll feel it, and hopefully we'll be in the same place, but if you're not, it's my duty to decide whether I want us to be.

Men will usually be more forgiving than women. We usually have unlimited sexual options without being wealthy, famous, hung, or whatever. Men do not. We get to be assholes in that department if we want. I like that. ;)
Men who pretend to have those same options usually end up playing on message boards with the screenname "Beforehand".

EDIT: BTW, "selfish" in this case is code for what? Where I come from, if some guy is referred to as "selfish" it means two things. One, he doesn't give head. And two, he only fucks missionary. Either way, both options are unacceptable.

I didn't ask him to explain selfish...and to my knowledge they haven't gone there yet in their relationship. She just told him this.

I understand where you are coming from Kell. I think a willingness to be honest and put forth some effort goes a long way....but then again, I really don't have the experience to comment on all this.

Reading back my quote, I know exactly how it sounds, especially for those who don't know me, and more so for those who do not agree with me.

I'd rather tell the truth. I am not interested in fucking a novice. You don't know how, that's fine. Go get some field research done and then come find me.

I broke that rule on a handful of occassions, and I got burned for it. It causes nothing but drama. One of my closest friends only has one nighters with other men who come to her by way of REFERRAL, that's how much of a stickler she is about the whole thing.

EDIT: My face is beginning to ache a bit, so I am off to bed. Sweet dreams. :wavey:

That's a perk of being hot/rich/a woman, though. You have that choice, and who's to say you can't exercise your right to choose it? There's a certain grade of guy/certain grade of girl I wouldn't touch, and I'm pretty dedicated to that because I can be.

Columbus, OH.

I used to post very seldomly, and only about the tennis. And then I started to post more about the tennis, and people started to like me for being very frank and matter-of-fact, but not like an ass. And then I recently started playing here after we had so much fun in GM. And now my post count has soared the last couple days.

This will be my senior year of college, and I am so ready for it to be over with. I hate school. I love learning from interesting professors and fellow classmates, but hate the classes and whatnot. I am a damn good student, always have been and take great pride in it. But enough is enough. I wanted to go to graduate school when I started college, and I know I will eventually, but I just don't think I can do it right now. I have been the 'stellar student' for the past 16-some odd years, and I need a break. I have earned a break.

Bringing this up again, but I completely understand and feel you here. I am in the same boat. I'll be a junior in college next year and I cannot WAIT to get out . I've done the overachiever thing since I started grade school. It gets old.

Yes, but mostly because I'm a HUGE pop music defender. Nothing annoys me than rock (usually) elitists putting down pop for being overproduced and fun instead of artistically sound. I'm like "Pop is a genre defined by mass produced fun music, damn it!"

I like pop :). Well I was obsessed with the Backstreet Boys for a solid 4 years, how could I knock a pop music lover?
I just don't like Britney herself.

Danny was on all night, though. The best three dances of the night were his three partner dances, and his solo, though it wasn't for me, was surely a dancer's solo. He outstepped everyone tonight.

I forgot I was reading, which to me is always a sign that the writer is doing something right, because as soon as they hit a wrong note I pop back out of their world, and if they do that too many times I put the story down - I have no time for a story that, for whatever reason, isn't working.

I like your use of language and description also.

It was hard to tell the difference between legitimate unhappiness and whining.
“Well, aren’t you going to offer me a drink,” asked the delightful whore.

Those were two lines that particularly made me smile.

Yes, you should write more.

Good Night

Om that note, I am leaving too (seriously). :wavey:

Pah you guys all think you're hardcore. I'm on London time :) I went to bed at 4am and had to get up for work.

(I *really* have to stop that) :)

Damn you all for being in America

Hi Chris. :wavey: I'm in here for like 20 more min. So if you want to get into a deep discussion of the meaning of life I'm all for it.

So I have a business meeting today for some USO stuff. I have these really nice black pants that I have on. Like everything else I own they are way way way to long for me. I have yet to get them to a tailor. So I bust out the needle and thread.

Cue Pancakes. He sits down eating some kind of loud crunchy fruit just watching me. All he says, after I'm done is 'that's really hot I didn't know you were so domestic'. I nearly peed myself laughing.

I'm so glad sewing is hot.

PS: Miss Jack. Thank you for carrying my torch. Yay brain twin. I hope you get that and I wasn't to secret code of me :haha:

-and i have extra sensory perception so don't try to get over on me-

aka -madonna kicks everyones ass.

God i love the sound of applause, better than The big O:tape:

Love that version, love that performance.

:worship:

I want this to be our back-up anthem:

Quite possibly the best video concept ever.

Yeah baby, yeah yeah.

If I were to suggest one, it would be...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fvuo_0sQGY

Pure sex from start to finish.

And contains something that should be a watchword for any sane person:

Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another...

Or woman, obviously.

I completely misunderstood the exchange, then. Because I've been sitting here for the last who-knows-how-long going "Where the hell did Kelli just disappear to?"

Awwww....she edited her good night into her last post, so you might not have seen it. She does that sometimes. :)

I will never forgive her so long as I live.

Oh what the hell- I have no secrets here. Just to clear that up. Dominic, I will always edit a post and say goodnight. Actually, when people just leave WITHOUT saying goodbye it is one of my pet peeves. Poor ettiquette and lack of concern for others.

Think of it this way- it's the same as someone just getting up and walking out of your party or a dinner date, saying nothing. When people do that, and I always know who does....it says a lot about them. ;)

As for me doing the editing thing. I am UNYIELDINGLY superstitious. I cannot go to bed having left the last post. Don't ask me why. If I did, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I have a neurotic, cluttered brain.

Go look at a bunch of kaleideoscopes, and there you will see what I have in my head 24/7. Such is my lot.

Regardless- just do not forget what I said- I am MEAN. Mean, mean, MEAN like a snake. :fiery:

And this one in mine-

When people show you who they are, believe them.

That always stuck with me. The proof is in the showing, not the telling.

Oh great, now what a pickle this is. I didn't know that Moya was playing the Baby today. Damn, why does fate test my loyalty this way?!

Chris, what do you do when you are split 50/50 down the middle? (And NO that was not meant to be dirty. Although now, I'm thinking otherwise. )

Moya is in the twilight of his career....but the Baby hasn't really done a whole lot to prove himself yet...would do wonders for his confidence.

EDIT (Final Answer): Edge to Moya, for reasons that are unspecificed. :)

Ahh well, when it's a 50/50 call and you can't make your mind up, the old standby to decide it is

"which would you most like to fuck?" :)

Is that supposed to HELP me, Chris? That makes it WORSE. :sobbing:

Especially now, after a day when my kisser looks better....needs to be used...you cannot ask me questions like that.

Between you and me, seeing that no one else is here, I'll level with you. If I could I'd have a line of them. Like a revolving door. As long as they don't talk back to me, and would do exactly as I said...I really couldn't pick one or two. I am more in line with a man's way of thinking in that respect.

As most of them do, I crave variety like a drug addict. :smoke:

Reg and BD, if you see this post- goddammit, I don't know how to navigate Facebook. I don't know how to say thank you. :fiery:

I saw that the two of you made comments about my idiot picture. You two are so sweet, thank you. :hatoff:

That picture was totally REAL and in the moment. It was not planned, and the photographer snapped it of me when the make up artist cracked a reallllly dirty joke.

I am that much of a goof, so there it is in a still photo. Thank you two.

You're overcomplicating.

Naturally you'd pick Moya - Del Potro, for all his virtues, is still very young and in no way ready to handle a woman like yourself, who places a premium on a man having experience and knowing what he's doing.

However it does sound like you need some cock.

I used to do that all the time - go to bed at 3 or 4 and get up for classes at 8 or 9....I actually miss it, and am hoping to set up another unhealthy sleep schedule like it someday.

You never know. This is the reason why many, wisely, do not wish to get close to me. I have disappeared at will, with no warning, provocation, or reason, many times before. I will do so again. It's just the way I am. I'm kind of like a nomad. I'd be the happiest living out of a suitcase, bound by nothing. :)

Oh stop that. My life is about rigid control. I leave that pursuit to the little kids, not to me. Cock acquisition is worthless without anything else behind it. For some, it is inherently valuable. For me, it is tantamount to finding a penny on the street. ;)
