Interlude brought to you by Missy Elliot.

What up?

:smoke: Word yo.

Oh most definitely, way back in the day when Sex and the City had that episode in which Charolette got addicted to it.

I gave it pass this time because I wanted something different and not as well known.

I might buy one in the future though.

Lots of people I know bought that and got hooked on it.

I'm kind of in a depressed mood. From what I can tell, the man away for six months is fucking everything with two legs...his prerogative of course and if you've got it, flaunt it. Plus, two of my oldest friends just announced they are getting married in the last two weeks. One of them has only known the guy for two months. They are crazy bitches! We are way too young for that. But it just got me thinking. I can't even find a man to have good sex with here, and those two think they have found a life partner? I'm not jealous of there situation (I REALLY don't want to be in a serious relationship now) but I'd really like to be happy like they are. Sometimes I wonder if I ever will be, truly, happy.

I'm keeping busy with school/work of course which helps but life kind of sucks at the moment  You must send me that story to brighten up my day :o

I think as a whole, men are less complicated sexually than women and therefore it's probably easier for you guys to get orgasms to begin with.

Each partner is different though, so you cannot ever just rubber stamp yourself and say "I give good head." Or "I'm awesome in bed." What is awesome for one person may be really unpleasant for another. ;)

This is the greatest truism spoken. Even kissing is like that sometimes. There is no universal good kisser.

The majority do not, no.

They CAN get to that point, if they ask for help, and have someone willing to tell them what they like and what they don't like. :)

Most people cannot have that kind of open discussion, so they will fumble around, fuck it up, or get angry and weird, or embarrassed.

Men can't really fake it - you can't fake an erection or an ejaculation.

But it's definitely possible to give a bad blowjob. Some men are very easy to satisfy orally but others...the wrong speed, the wrong amount of pressure, no tongue action and it's just hmmmmokay

Kitty de Sade

I truly believe that. I've been with people who believed that they had cornered the market on technique. What feels good to one person won't to another. It's obnoxious to think otherwise. ;)

funny how you think we're that complicated

Men and whether or not they are complicated never enter into the equation for me. I couldn't care less really. I was talking about women, and how they feel. It's more important for women to be taken care of. Men just feel a stiff wind, and they'll be making that ugly O face in about 3 seconds flat. :)

Figured I'd jump in on this one - I never really noticed him being 'sexy' until recently. I've always loved the little dude (seriously, dude is short!), but that was more about him being adorable. He's got a great body, IMO. He was practicing shirtless in Montreal and bunches of women were watching him while having absolutely no clue who the fuck he was. I guess that says something.

And his hair is fantastic.:)

Wow Chris- I just saw the exchange in the Ferrer/Stepanek thread from earlier today. You okay? I'm sorry you had to deal with stupid stress like that.

Part Deux of this post, then. :)

Who is sexy to you? If not Ferrer, then who? Federer? Safin? Labadze? :p
I'm fine - GlennMirnyi is beyond asshole and not worth my energies. I don't intend to get into a flamewar with him because that's what he wants - he doesn't believe half the crap he writes, he just loves to get a reaction from people who will jump at his line.

Still, I told him he's an asshole so the truth is where it needs to be.

What's sexy to me? I can't pigeonhole - I find so many different looks and types and attributes attractive. I believe the technical term is "not picky" :)

funny how you think we're that complicated
Yeah. There's really only one place that might be it for us.

Men and whether or not they are complicated never enter into the equation for me. I couldn't care less really. I was talking about women, and how they feel. It's more important for women to be taken care of. Men just feel a stiff wind, and they'll be making that ugly O face in about 3 seconds flat. :)

I was trying to think of a good thing to say here, like "My O face is like a sunshine", etc. But the first one I thought of was "My O face is like a baby's smile!" until I realized how godawfully creepy that was.

Whose school did that happen at? :wavey:

I like partners to talk to me...to say things. Not GROSS things or overly crude things like the donkey/dickhead straight porn "script" writers add in, but I like words...:aplot:

"Did you get the mail? Oh man, I saw the funniest thing the other day! This squirrel, right? He like...ran across the road, and a car was coming, and he was like "OH SHIT!", and zig-zagged to get away, but he like...was still doing it in front of the car for like three minutes! HAHAHAAH"

....

"Guess you had to be there?"

Yeah, see- that's what I DO NOT want to hear. No one would be able to sell that with me. Anyone tries it, they'll be going home in a bodybag. :)

If, on the other hand, they DO know what to say- and I have had a few :aplot:- the world is theirs. :inlove:

EDIT: It appears that Waffle House is going home. :p

I'm not a wildly active dirty-talker, but I have reason to believe I'm good at it. I'm too cocky to be wildly sexy when I speak, though. I end up smirking or smiling at myself. But dancing...well, that's another story, but hardly relevant.

That was exactly my reaction. I already thought he was adorable, but I was just...'Hello there, hotness. How you doin'?':aplot:

On court he's a fiery pit bull (watching his match against Isner - kicking his sign in front of his chair, cussing in both perfect Spanish and cute heavily accented English...too funny), and off court he's a total sweetheart. Soft-spoken, gentle. Sweet Ferru. And Rafa loves him to pieces. He's good people.:)

I think Ferrer looks much better in civvies than in tennis gear.

On the wider subject, I see beauty in lots of places, in a wide variety of looks and styles and I'm quite forgiving of imperfections in looks if I see beauty elsewhere - for instance I don't worry about a big nose if I think the eyes are fantastic.

I feel quite blessed to be able to do that, actually, because so many people I know discount people on the narrowest of criteria and grouse that they're always alone.

He totally looks better in casual, street-clothes than tennis gear. I feel that way about a lot of players.

I'm like you...I don't worry so much about the whole face. If it's all good (doesn't happen very often), great. If their nose is crooked, but they have the most beautiful smile, great. If their eyes are too close together, but they are the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen, great. Focus on the positive. I can find the beauty in just about anyone. Not Stepanek, though. That'd be like looking for a whale in the Sahara. :o

And why is it usually that people who will settle for nothing less than total physical and facial perfection in their partners aren't anywhere near perfect themselves. Stop being so damn irrationally picky and maybe you'll find someone, you idiot!

GM has become mean spirited and non-funny. Good natured stuff is fine, but what happens there is just pointless.

The thread in question is just a perfect example of that. To actually derive pleasure from playing the cliched antagonist? Tired, just plain tired.

EDIT: I don't view it as admiration. When you are like some makeshift leader of so much of a treacle brigade, the only ones who follow suit are even less powerful than the catalyst. Have you ever seen a cat climb up onto a comfy chair or a bed, and arch its back and stretch out its neck and then arrange itself and lie down to begin grooming itself. The languorous, unapologetically decadent way it does that, like the rest of the world at that moment does not exist except for what it is doing now and what it is going to do, and that's exactly how it should be...

It reminds me of you.

Okay- let me try something else, because this is interesting. Do you find that you are a polarizing figure? Like people REALLY like or you REALLY dislike you- no middleground?

No I don't think I'm a polarizing figure really - I think quite a lot of people are completely indifferent to me and that works fine for me.

Though as I have gotten older a number of things have happened.

1) I stopped caring what other random people thought of me - an incredibly liberating thing to not care whether you're liked or not. I used to want to be liked by everybody. Now I don't care if people like me or not. The people who do like me and I become friends with, is enough for me. I don't need a linked friends list on a network site that could fill a tennis stadium, most of whom I never pass the time of day with.

When I was younger I was bullied and it left me a bit withdrawn and I still struggle to let my guard down with people in person - I take a while to warm up to people I've never met. But on the other side of the coin, I developed a thick skin to insults and nastiness. Once I combined that with the understanding that it doesn't matter worth a damn what most people think of you, I was well on my way.

2) I stopped, or at least vastly reduced, self-censorship of my own opinions to conform to what whatever audience I was in expected of me.

So I think I'm more polarizing now than I used to be. But there's less about me that will polarize people off the bat - I'm don't look like a Greek God, not that boys get attacked for being hot anyway, only girls, and I don't tend to willingly engage in huge arguments.

Oh - and "morals of a maggot"?

Morals are a choice. Judge not lest ye be judged, I say. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I hardly venture into GM at all anymore. Especially not on days like this when Rafa loses. People are just downright rude and stupid. It's sad, because there are rational and sane people there who know how to get their point across without turning into a belligerent fool. It's just hard to find those people sometimes. I am certain that it is possible to discuss tennis and the men who make their living playing it without the antagonizing, chest beating, and venom spewing. Or maybe I'm mistaken, I don't know.

EDIT: I totally agree- when Nadal loses, I couldn't be more absent, and I'm not even a fan. That's how unpleasant it is.

It's hard. It's not in my nature to back down from a mud-slinging contest - I go in no holds barred and fight to win.

Here's a sample of one I did a couple of months ago on another site:

I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can teach me - you simply don't know enough and certainly aren't able to convey the little you do know cogently and effectively. Snappy insults does not equal intellect and rude manners and putdowns does not confer a position of superiority on the perpetrator, however much you like to flatter yourself by thinking it does.

You may feel I am here to be mocked. I feel I am here to talk about tennis but you prove yourself to be largely incapable of this. You'd much rather attack people - players, other posters, it doesn't matter - dishing out insults to "prove" your superiority over others is how you justify your own self-worth. You're not the first, you won't be the last, and you're definitely not the best. Your own arrogance blunts any attack you make on the arrogance of others - your arrogance, it seems to me, has far less justification than the likes of Federer, Schumacher or Mourinho for that matter. Seldom has someone's own high opinion of themself been so little justified by the evidence of what they choose to show to others. You may well be a lovely person in real life but you certainly do your best to conceal any evidence of that in your dealings on this board. Your appalling lack of manners and courtesy is only matched by your appalling lack of logical coherence in your arguments and your reliance on the mythical silent majority as a basis of justification for your views. You occasionally post something worthwhile, but the average poster will have to hunt for it very hard - it's like trying to find a needle in a large, unpleasant, hag-ridden haystack.

To me, you're not here to be mocked, you're here to be pitied and to be exposed for the irrational arrogant fool that you are. I am happy to continue to play this role as long as you are here sharing with us your own particular brand of spite. Time permitting, of course. It's something I need to fit in around the primary purpose of sharing appreciation of the tennis with the other fans on this board. And I do have a life outside of all this that I devote my attention to, also. So please don't feel like I'm neglecting you if I fail to pick up on every single one of your pointless rants. There are so, so many, and I am but one man.

I'm quite sure this will have no impact upon you whatsoever - clearly your skin is as thick as dragonhide and any criticisms bounce clean off as though they were never there. Self-satisfied people are rarely discomfited by the appearance of the truth, even when it contradicts their own basic precepts. Never mind. The point of this post is not to persuade you of the rightness of my position or even to make you behave better. Such a reasoning would be pointless. The purpose of this post is merely to remind you, and others, that I see you for what you really are. I see right through the pretensions and complacent air of lofty superiority and I don't buy it for a moment. You will read this in spite of yourself because you simply can't help yourself. That may be the most amusing thing of all - someone who actually was so convinced of their own superiority and rightness would feel no need to constantly attempt to demonstrate it. The very fact you can't leave things alone gives the lie to the pose you like to adopt. So, over to you - time to clamber back upon that pedestal and attempt to look down on me. One day you may realise that this pedestal you put yourself upon is about 2 millimetres in height and you're no better than the rest of us, but I doubt it - I suspect that's a seismic shift too far for your limited worldview.

The problem with it is that it's a waste of time - you don't persuade people with it, it changes nothing, it just wastes time and emotional energy on people you should know better than to expend it on.

So I try not to anymore. Denying them is harder to do but better in the long run.

I was quite pleased with that one.

But it changed nothing - the poster who that was aimed at is still as objectionable as ever and if anything was gratified that I fed her mania by devoting such energy into responding.

The appendectomy was a setback but it's not unusual for her to have physical niggles of one kind or another - I personally think in this situation it's a bit of a figleaf and the real issue is remotivating herself.

Well I didn't take a break and starting my second year of school after undergrad. Where were you when I was sending off applications? ;)

Some people can do it with no problem. I am just not one of those people. I graduated high school with a 4.0 taking honors classes, currently have a 3.7 GPA in college taking some of the hardest classes you can take, and I am exhausted. I am sick and damn tired of staying up late to read page after page of boring textbooks, and writing 40 page papers. I love my major and minor, they interest me so much. But I just can't do it anymore. Not right now.

It scares me a bit, because I have been a student for so long, I don't know exactly who or what I am without that. But I intend to find out. That's what life is all about, IMO.

I believe you. Degrees can only do so much for you. I'm happy that your career appears to be doing well. You seem to have the drive to make it all the way to the top. Sometimes adding notches to the degree belt propels your success in the "real world" and sometimes it postpones it.

I'm like the opposite. I have a 3.6 on English classes, but I don't do anything in any classes. Somehow, it's always been OK with me to know I can perform at a 3.7 level with no effort, than to give the tiniest bit of effort for the 4.0.

One step at a time, gladhanding as I go. I have found that everything comes through referrals and networking. None of that was ever learned in school.

Not that I am saying it isn't viable, I just don't think that there is one way to be successful that works for everyone. :)

Doubt it. I don't want to be in school more, and I almost want to suffer through a "Let's get lucky!" job like writing or entertainment. That's the thing, the 4.0 in high school was nothing. I didn't do much of anything for that. It comes naturally to me. Being a good student, I mean. Drives most of my friends nuts. And the 3.7 in college is much the same. It's a bit harder, but I don't do anything outside of the norm. I don't kill myself over it. I don't have to exert that much energy, and I'm still exhausted. That's how I know I'm done for now.
