Hiya Beautiful People, how goes? :wavey:

I just heard...what a day. Moya is out, Willy is out, Gonzo is out. :ras:

Poor Martine- I am sorry girl, I hope you are okay.

On a lighter note, I spent the day in the front office BEGGING to be allowed to be included on this weekend's road trip to promo for Myrtle Beach. It's my first opportunity to travel. :)

I had no idea who was going to be there, I just wanted a change of scenery. No wonder why I had clear sailing.........

I signed myself up for RYAN CABRERA. :sobbing:

I kid you not. Nobody is nice enough to tell the new kid, so I signed up to go without knowing. :bigcry:

It's a weekend gig though, and on Sunday I work the Hootie and the Blowfish. That makes up for a Friday night sold out show of ALL SCREAMING teenage girls. :banghead: :p

Hey Kelli! I have no idea who all those people you mentioned are . I'm back home earlier today and managed to watch the Baghdatis-Moya match .

Marcos won!!! :woohoo: Sorry, I know everyone else here is crazy beyond cure for naughty Carlos (I actually thought he looked good today) but my support goes to Marcos all the way every time :). And he actually looks cuter shaved and with short hair :hearts:.

RIGHTY! :ras: Way to have sympathy for me, thanks a lot. I'm gonna come home half DEAF, and you laugh at my expense....meh, so would I, if it weren't happening to me. :sobbing: :p

EDIT: Going to Raw Bar for flaming drinks in five. :lick: Will be back around 11:30-ish, EST.

EDIT Part Deux: Reg, will read the pm's when I get back. I hope there is info about the BSE in one of those. You promised as much. :aplot:

Why does a straight guy care about how hot women think a guy is, or why.

Kitty de Sade

I was waiting for you to answer it- then I thought it was so dumb, that you probably wouldn't. Leave it to a guy to require a RATIONAL answer for why a woman is attracted to a man.

She either is or she isn't- who CARES about the reason?

Kitty de Sade

Funny thing is- there is more than one kind of hot, and for me, there is not a question about which one carries WAY more importance.

If you want to be the object of desire to a bunch of screaming little girls, go work on your six pack and your dance moves. :p

If you want to be the object of desire to a bunch of women who have a lot going on in their lives, a six pack is fine, but go work on the moves that really count. Go fatten up your wallet while you are at it.

It's power- all about power. Don't have it- you won't get any. Have it, and you will have women pouring into your lap like rain. :)

It's more than just the conventional, narrow definintion of power, that was made up by men in the first place. :)

Kindess is power, intelligence is power, personality is power, spirituality is power. What I meant by power, was more like "ability." You want someone who can transcend the ordinary. Money is a version of that, but not the sum total.

People are just so incredibly rude. I realize that for some, when you are young, you have yet to understand what defines proper behavior, but really- how that is an appropriate statement to make on a public forum? :o

I was never that way, even as a little kid. It's just indicative of your character when you feel the need to point out flaws in others, whether they exist or not- that is YOUR perception. It should be kept private.

It's cute when the general rudeness and imaturity of people amazes you. I'm not even sure if that is the right word, but it is cute anyway.

Some people for whatever reason get off on bringing others down. They are little balls of negative energy. They aren't ever really happy or content.

The girls that have nothing else to do but make fun of girlfriends of men they want to be with.

Or my personal favorite the girls that follow tennis players around. That make you feel like crap for being seen in public with them. I can't count the dirty looks I've gotten over the years.

What makes these girls, sometimes grown women think it's okay to wait outside hotel rooms or in lobbys and then follow a guy out to a restarunt is so byond me. Yes that's it follow him, he's sure to fall in love. That's not crazy or anything.

As for you, why are you crying? Is it the weirdness of the day, or something else? :awww:

I am crying in part, because Monticello roses, with the eternity necklace wrapped around them were contained in that box that was on my front step. Even I have a breaking point I see...I have to call my work to use up my first personal day.

I am going to be just fine....in a minute. Do not worry. :)

I'm annoyed Richard lost - he is a complete tool. He learns the lesson he needs to learn against Roddick at Wimbledon - he is at his best when he is being bold and aggressive and taking control of the court.

Then he's completely unlearned it again by the time he gets here and can't move freely in case he hits the back linejudges. Idiot man with great legs that he is.

He's overly frustrating that's for sure.

When you see how well someone can play and they don't live up to that all the time it's the most frustrating thing on earth. You see all that they could do and they just don't.

All Richie had to do was push a little more. He didn't and he lost. If he had pushed Verdasco would have fallen off and lost.

The flowers were fine, the Eternity Necklace just made me fall over the edge. In everyone's life, I guess there is an Achilles Heel. He is mine.

He is the only one for whom I have EVER given up the game for a bit. No bravado, no bullshit, no manipulation. I had not seen him since December 2005....until last night.

We know people in common, so I guess it was possible that we would run into each other at some point. I spent all of last night with him, in his loft downtown, did nothing physical, and yet I fell like I was put through a washing machine. ;)

Roger is going to have to be patient and try and snatch a break when the chance arises, or hang in until the breaker, but yeah I don't see Roger losing here. Even with the serve I just don't think Ivo has the weapons off the ground and you need more than a serve to defeat Roger - he WILL get onto enough serves to do some damage.

Marat really outplayed Nadal in that first set

Only Rafa's temporary offensive aggresive spurts, extreme defense, and inevitable Marat brain cramps helped him win it. After that, Marat had no chance to win the 2nd, as he departed mentally.

scoobs
08-09-2007, 01:40 AM
Yeah the extreme awfulness of Marat at times, esp in that second set, eclipses the fact that Nadal wasn't all that himself today - first serve % was down and deserted him at the end of the first set at crucial times, 19UEs to 13 winners is not great from him, and he was deep behind the baseline for too much of the match. He won and in the end won easily but there's plenty to improve upon for the next round.

Q. You said this has been an unremarkable season for you. How do you feel about that? Do you feel frustrated? Is it just kind of a depressing thing?
MARAT SAFIN: Well, first of all, why I have to be frustrated? In the worst scenario, the worst scenario, which would be the normal scenario of my life, I would be a coach in some club in Russia, in Moscow, that nobody would even think about me. I would have probably a few kids and wife, drive every morning at 9:00 in the morning to give lessons.
And look at me now. Not bad for 10 years of career. Instead of that, I'm alone. I'm playing my best tennis. I'm doing the things that I love to do. I have no family. I'm enjoying it.
So you know, I was lucky to catch the train. I was lucky to take the opportunity the people they gave me. Why I have to be frustrated? I have everything what I need. I have a good life. I'm flying business, first class. I have my friends coming to watch me. When I go to Moscow, I'm staying at a nice place, nice area, good neighborhood, nice cars. So everything is great. So why I have to be frustrated?

OK Bottom line.. its all about F***ability... women whether they admit it or not gauge hotness on shagability.
Moya for example has a dreamy sensitive look, to me he looks boring in bed!
Marat, however looks like a scoundrel in bed.
Haas?
hmmmm i think Haas would be looking at himself in the mirror in bed!!!
Roger also falls into the sensitive category... he doesnt look like he is a freak or like he can break any headboards.. if u r into that sort of thing!

Of course he's a volatile human being - he was a volatile human being in junors - he has learned to control it and keep it away from his tennis but he hasn't completely changed his character. And yes, that volatility will no doubt express itself elsewhere in his life. I suspect that he's not the easiest person to live with, actually.

3 and a half years now.

If you want to be together and you are living together, you find a way to make it work. It's not always easy - there's a lot of compromise needed sometimes and at times you wonder why you put up with it. But there's something to be said for being forced to put someone else's interests at least on the table to be considered. Helps us to not become totally self-absorbed.

Sex Fiend

Here's something I just don't understand
Tonight it's just me and my right hand
Rafa's on the clay in Germany
Marat cried off cuz he hurt his knee
Andy's freakin with the lower ranks
Murray called me up and said no thanks
Nole's nervous, man he's got no balls
Guillermo Canas won't return my calls
And so I sit here playing all alone
Can't think of anyone else left to phone
Cos I'm a sex fiend
Woah, a lonely sex fiend
Yeah I'm a sex fiend
Flying solo tonight.

He's ahead of them in the queue as far as I am concerned - at least Lopez has a fine piece of ass. Spadea and Stepanek are about equal in sheer foulness in my book. I would love it if they teamed up in doubles so a tactical nuclear strike could take them both out in one go.

People are way harsh on Mirka. I don't like her dress sense sometimes but I think she does an excellent job of managing Roger's day-to-day details, stays well in the background and clearly is devoted to him. She's prepared to basically suspend her own life and ambitions until his career is done and back him all the way. She doesn't actually say or do anything that's obnoxious or offensive in my book so I don't know how people manage to take such a dislike to someone who doesn't even really have any sort of assertive media presence at all. She never says anything, she never makes it about her, in public. So I'm at a loss. I wish people would leave the woman alone.

I've heard of actresses who actually do that with the designer gowns that are custom made for them when they attend awards shows. They put them in storage with all the info on them and everything.

Of course this doesn't bother me so much, considering that I'm a major Roger groupie. However I can definitely see how it can annoy a non fan. There have been times where I want to say "There are other guys on the ATP Tour you know!" :p

I can see both sides. I can understand why you don't like the flak she gets, seeing how she doesn't do many interviews and do only a small amount of photoshoots with Roger. She's the woman behind the man and doesn't try to take the spotlight away from Roger really.

On the other hand, I know that there are a few people in the public eye who I don't really know that much about that I never liked. People who aren't really tabloid magnets and don't seek attention. However, they still rub me the wrong way for some reason.

I think that's just the price you pay if you have any type of public life, even if you are just the girlfriend of a superstar athlete. Not everyone's gonna like you, even if you are a saint in public.

I see what you're saying but then I see no reason to condone peoples' irrational dislikes - if she's done something to earn it then fine, let people bring it and justify it. At least then they have a concrete reason to base their attitude on. If she is doing nothing to feed this dislike, yet people continue a constant stream of sourness in her direction, then I find that unnecessary and unpleasant. I don't see why people feel the need to keep trying to pull her down for no reason at all.

The only thing off about Flopez is his nose. If he had good rhinoplasty, he'd be pretty close to perfect, face wise. Attitude and class wise, he is a sinkhole.

I think she is selfless though. Imagine if your partner says to you - no marriage, no kids, no normal life until I'm at least 30 because I'll be playing tennis around the world or practising a good 30 odd weeks of the year and my career is my top priority. Okay you know you're getting this if you date a tennis player but it's still an awful lot to deal with year in year out. I'm not saying she's not getting a good deal but she must also have hopes and ambitions of her own that are largely on hold as she supports Roger's career. She chooses to put that to one side and focus on him, with no guarantees that at the end of his career they will still be together in order for her to have her turn. I think yeah she is pretty selfless - I couldn't devote myself to one person as much as she does, it would make me crazy and resentful.

Kitty de Sade
08-09-2007, 07:18 PM
What I said to Sof was that, all things being equal, it is BULLSHIT to criticize and make a judgement about someone BECAUSE of their weight. That is not relevant as to whether the person is kind, thoughtful, sincere, or anything else of value.

When people attack her because of that, I will always take issue. It is spiritually bankrupt to award or deduct "points" from someone for what they look like physically.

Sofyaxo
08-09-2007, 07:20 PM
That's what you personally see out of the situation.

You do not know if she is the kind of women that doesn't mind lack of family. She isn't suffering. She goes around the world with a man she loves and gets anything she wants. It was a choice of hers to turn her life into what it is now. She didn't put it on hold she changed it into something that would help him out as much as she could.

Personally I think it's a little scary to be in her position. She has no life of her own and unless she invested well she doesn't have that much money of her own. Her life is Roger, that is scary to be completely dependent on someone like that. Very very scary. So I don't ass it as selfless as it is stupid. It's important to have a life separate of your partner. It's not good to depend on others no matter who you are or what the circumstance is.

Honestly she's been very very mean and rude to me on more then one occasion. I do not like her. I appreciate that you see the positive side of the coin for her. I'm not bashing her I don't hate her I just dislike her and avoid her as much as I can. She's a grown women who makes her own choices in life. She wants to be a martyr for a man that's her deal. I do see your point of view though. It's nice. One can never be sure of things till they see how it is behind closed doors where she isn't a soft spoken lady.

I think yeah she is pretty selfless - I couldn't devote myself to one person as much as she does, it would make me crazy and resentful.

Well, on the other hand though, she is enjoying the best years of her life living in luxury and getting the royal treatment/meeting the rich and famous wherever she goes. There are people who prefer that to the everyday struggles and disappointments of beginning a career and advancing in a competitive environment.

The way I see it, Mirka essentially has everything going for her and is set for life, unless of course Roger decides to break up with her. She will have all the means and connections to do whatever she likes once Roger stops travelling and settles down.

EDIT: Sorry I wrote this earlier but MTF wasn't letting me post it. No more Mirka discussion.

Mathieu is on fire

And I have to get ready to leave soon :explode:

Mathieu beat Canas, yes.

And now he's broken Nadal and taken the first set.

I didn't see that coming - Nadal seemed to be weathering him and wearing him down a bit.

Not a great sign for Rafa though I still see him winning here.

There goes the first set. I may be drinking tonight

Nadal is letting him dictate the rallies

13UEs from Rafa in that set is a bit high, though he is going for more on his shots than yesterday.

He is letting Paulo get into dictator mode too much though, PHM standing there and directing big flat groundies side to side.

Rafa can pull wins out. No doubt. I wouldn't be shocked if he won or lost at this point. Nadal has extreme fight.

You can see the little pressure that he's under though. Good match to watch.

I leave to get a mini workout and I miss all of this. Oy.

Mirka-Make sure you have a backup plan girl, in case he breaks up with you.

Roger-I don't care how long you two have been together. If you ain't no punk holler "We want prenup!"

There I'm done with that.

In other news, Hbraty's shirt is distracting and not in a good way.:o

And Rafa, be more aggressive!

Rafa! I was happy to come back just in time for the 3rd set :). PHM though was really impressive at times. :hatoff:

Nalby! At least I hope Marcos can go forward to the QF (a sentiment not shared by the majority of the pervs I'm sure :ras: )
