He keeps having chances on the Ivan serve all of a sudden and not taking them. It's hugely frustrating.

I've been where you guys are.

All I can say from experience is stay out there, keep trying, and most importantly, hang out where there are guys that have the same interests. (I used to belong to a Ski Club and met most of the guys I dated through that).

Nice guys are out there, but they are tough to find. Sorry Adam, but most guys don't mature until they are in their late 20's.

I've been to Cincy every year since 2002, and starting with last year I've been going to the Women's Open as well. Only women and old men want to talk to me. :(

He's a bit better Lee. Like me, he's not taking it resting. He goes to school and to his training. He has a tourney coming up on monday, the first of the season. I hope he'll be fine by then. :)

I don't start conversations with anyone... so no one should get offended by that... I'm often not really at my computer to see who is on and who's not and I only come over if I hear a dinging noise... and then once I am here I am stuck here for eternity.

Then I wait about another month till I have a decent amount and then put it all on someone and they lose. And this sequence just carries on. Therefore, after about another month, when I have approximately v$1000 I shall be putting it all on Federer :p it's great to know that I have the power of who wins tennis matches.

Awww how sweet :D

 I was more surprised that there was a good programme on channel 5 :p

I need to go in a sec, but I'll ask the questions and see your reply later.....

1) Do none of the prison guards or anything realise that he designed the prison?
2) We don't actually know whether his brother is guilty or not yet do we?
3) I don't really understand the storyline with that guy at the end that's about to cut off his toe that wants information off him. Could you explain please :)
OK Adam....here are the answers to your Prison Break questions...at least to the best of my ability:

1) No...the guards (or anyone else for that matter) do not know about Michael's connection to the prison. The way I understand it, he worked for a company that was sub-contracted to do some renovations on the Prison and was able to then access the plans. But his name wouldn't show up in any connection to the plans etc...because it was just a sub-contracted deal.

2) At this point, we (well you) do not know if Lincoln is guilty or not.

3) The story regarding the toe about to be cut off is something like this: John Abruzzi (the greasy long haired guy about to do the cutting) is ticked (to put it mildly) because Michael knows who put John in prison, but Michael will not give the name up. There is some more to the story that will come out later...but the jist is...Michael knows info that he won't tell John, and John is threatening him!

Okay let me set up the story.

Today, Syracuse (my school) played Rutgers (the school I live like 15 min away from in NJ) so... growing up near Rutgers, I have developed a severe hatred for that school because it sucks.

Syracuse, a school that has had a good basketball team for pretty much its entire existence, was on a 4-game losing streak. Rutgers has an AMAZING player Quincy Douby. Everything that guy shoots up goes in the basket cleanly.. doesn't even touch the rim. He has AMAZING accuracy.

So this was an incredibly important match for us, especially since with a 15-6 record we had just falled out of the Top 25.

It starts out good, we get ahead, midway through the first half Rutgers got away with a vicious foul on our superstar, you may have heard me gush about him, Gerry McNamara. The dude shoved him out of bounds and Gerry landed bad. As the man I have worshipped for the last 3 years writhed on the floor, grabbing his knee in considerable pain, the Carrier Dome was absolutely silent. Without Gerry, everyone was thinking "Oh my god, we are not going to win another game this season, this could end his season, and he's a senior.. this could end his career." He eventually got helped off the court to the bench where he sobbed into his towel and tried to hide his face and eventually was helped into the locker room. Gerry McNamara is everything in Syracuse, and in his hometown of Scranton. He will forever be a legend for scoring 6 3-pointers in the first half of the National Championship game and for scoring 43 against BYU to singlehandedly get us to the Sweet 16 the following year.

For the rest of the first half, I tried to cheer, I tried to care about the game but I was heartbroken thinking that of all the ways, that I had just witnessed the last time Gerry McNamara would play in the Carrier Dome and that it had to end LIKE THAT. Somehow we go into half time with a lead. Miraculous really.

I had the same awesome seats as the last game, second row. Those people are becoming my basketball friends now. It's the same people... EVERY game. We all sit in the EXACT same seats.

The second half is tight, but Douby is freakin' making EVERYTHING. The game had a horrible feeling to it. I thought for sure we were going to lose. The clock is winding down and we make our free throws to get 2 points ahead. Rutgers makes a shot AT THE BUZZER and we go into overtime.

During overtime it was incredibly tight the entire time, again we work our way up to a 2 point lead, then we do something stupid, turn over the ball and as the overtime clock is winding down Rutgers hits a 3 pointer. They are now one point ahead and there are 7 seconds left on the clock. Terrence Roberts, one of our big guys, NOT A GOOD OUTSIDE SHOOTER, has the ball and even though we only need a simple basket, shoots a 3-pointer. The student section is about to cry in agony when a miracle happens. THE BALL FREAKIN GOES IN. OH MY GOD. We were going NUTSSSS. After the basket there were .4 seconds left on the clock... with that basket TERRENCE ROBERTS SAVED THE DAY. He saved it for me, it saved it for Syracuse and he saved it for Gerry. Bless Terrence Robert's soul.

SYRACUSE WINSSSSSSSSS.

I apparently was on TV twice when they looked at the crowd  And the good news is (well not really good... better than expected news) that Gerry did not hurt his knee as we all feared. He was out on the bench during the second half and looked able to stand and walk short distances without being in pain. They are calling it a thigh injury. He hasn't missed a single game in his career here yet... I think he may miss one.. maybe 2 if any at all.. but it does not appear to be as serious as we all feared.

My throat is killing me because I was going nuts. Doubt scored 41 points. That was half of Rutgers total... but it wasn't enough to stop the mighty ORANGE today.

And with that, I will stop boring y'all. :p

What do you expect, they aren't going to cover guys like Ferrer. I mean I know where to go and I go to tournaments as much as possible, well not as much as previously, due to circumstances. This is clear to me as I know these TV people cater to the big names and I am not going to get much out of it.

There are always too many womens matches, maybe they should play them in the carpark, but it's all about the money and ratings, most hetero guys only look at the WTA for the bodies.

Well the PMK/Hrbaty was centre court and as for the Ancic match, one of my friends was there and gave me an excellent report about it, then again they probably didn't show Santoro/Gaudio. It's not like Hrbaty or the PMK are ones who get much TV time as it is.

I would love to go to Valencia, I saw it on TV and instantly fell in love. :hearts: RG is a lot cheaper than Wimbledon, and it's easy to travel between London and Paris. Plus the timing is great - the first Monday of the tournament is a national holiday over here, paid day off work. But if I don't get tickets in the ballot, Barcelona will be my back up as my boss is going to South Africa during the Valencia tournament. Though I am job hunting and maybe I will have a new position by then so Valencia could be put back on the table. *fingers crossed*

That city is completely wonderful. :hearts: I was there for like, two days and I immediately fell in love with it. You HAVE to go there.

Valencia is not that great. I was there for a week and we were like "Uhm... so this is it?" and it's not as pretty as they make it seem... I mean, sure as hell it's a great place to be and really nice, very Spanish you know, but I don't know, maybe I had higher expectations. Well, the number 1 reason Carmelo Anthony went to the pros after his freshman year at Syracuse.. anyone... anyone? That's right, he couldn't have stayed, he would have been academically ineligible. So regardless of if he wanted to wait a year to be the #1 draft pick, he couldn't have. He knew all along he was going to have that option though...

But... I do see an awful lot of our boys around campus, so they must go to at least SOME of their classes... I know the Big East is trying to crack down on that really hard.

I'm a big UConn fan, and love college hoops. But all this stuff going on for years and years is ruining the game. And the fact that most of them don't play for the full 4 years now, and go to the NBA after 2-3 years.

I used to love all sports, but now tennis and racing are about the only two I really watch as well as UConn.

Tennis fortunately isn't as corrupt as other sports. There are problems - and a bit of greed of the tournament directors, ATP, and players - but definitely not like in other sports.

And the greed in tennis for the players is more that the players are on their own - they aren't part of a team so they have to live in a bubble of just themselves and their own entourage just to survive. They don't make the money like in other sports (unless they are one of the very top players).

UCONN?

THE ARCH ENEMY OF ANYONE WITH A TINY BIT OF ORANGE IN THEIR HEART?

We play UConn next :p The days of Gordon and Okafor still gave me nightmares :p

I definitely respect guys who stick it out all 4 years. Besides Carmelo, our guys do that here. Hakim Warrick stuck it out, Gerry McNamara ( ) stuck it out. Guys like Nick Collison and Kirk Heinrich who played all four years (even if they are also the enemy :p) definitely respected (even if Heinrich said some silly things like never being able to drink orange juice again :p ) Dwayne Wade was a senior when he was drafted too I think... unless I'm wrong. I remember watching 8 million pieces on him during the Final 4, lol. Was Okafor a senior? I think he was a junior... so few Huskies seem to stick around. Gordon was a junior too I think...

That's a huge reason why Gerry McNamara is so worshipped around here. He stayed and there was never any doubt that he was going to stay. This kid I know wrote a piece on him for SI on Campus that I would LOVE to get my hands on about how Gerry is like THE most beloved college player ever. While I don't know about THAT (I think he's a tad biased), Gerry stays out of trouble, he goes to class, he works incredibly hard, and he gives us his all on the court, and he was here for us to depend on. Last night, we all knew he was injured and we desperately wanted him to play the last possession to shoot our winning basket. We were like "PUT HIM IN A WHEELCHAIR AND LET HIM SHOOT IF WE HAVE TO." We trust in Gerry in a wheelchair more than an entire team of other able players.. he's developed, he's a leader... and now I am just ranting on Gerry McNamara...

UCONN though... :fiery:

Ok for the tennis maybe it should be Adam/Sarah vs Jess/Isabel. I suppose it's fairest if we do best with worst and then the 2 middle ones together. And with Sarah sounding like by far the best, and me being the undisputed worst, this sounds like the best idea ;)

:wavey: all... I just came to catch up before I leave to go home! :woohoo:

Contrary to whatever Sue may have observed (:p) I too am of the shy variety :) I think I originally opened up on the Internet because I didn't have be afraid of meeting anyone..... and then I started meeting people.... so... yeah. Hahaha. When I meet people I blurt out the most random things that I really shouldn't. My freshman year I was thinking of rushing a sororiety so I went to an informal tea type thing one of the girls invited me to, before rush starts so people who are semi interested can get an idea. Well, since I knew a girl in the house, everyone was gathering around me and somehow it came up in conversation that I had a crush on Prince Harry. It's totally like, NOT the thing you tell complete strangers. "Hi, I'm Jess, and Prince Harry is hot." But apparently they all thought I was cute or something instead... so that time it worked out because I was so horribly nervous in a social situation that somehow it worked in my favor. Generally however, my social anxiety does NOT work in my favor and I never talk to anyone

I didn't end up rushing the sororiety though... the whole rush thing was not really my scene. I mainly went along as company for the girl I was with who did want to rush. That's an interesting story. The sororiety I happened to fit in with is the one known on campus as like "The fat girl and reject" sororiety, and as we were leaving my friend was like "Wow Jess! You really fit in there!" and she didn't MEAN to say it meanly, but I was like "Um, gosh, thanks." And she was like "Oh, I would NEVER be in that sororiety, I'd rather be in none at all." So she rushed thinking she would get into Tri-Delt since her mom was a legacy at Syracuse even... and well she didn't make it into Tri-Delt's last round so she dropped out of rush altogether. Well, she rushed again the following year... and where did she end up? The sororiety of "losers" she said she would NEVER be in. :rolls: That said, all the girls I knew in there were perfectly nice girls aka not sluts, which is why their reputation is as it is, I suppose.
