First of all, I wish you all a happy new year !

Before Judio opens the "official" rankings thread,
the "live" rankings are available here:

http://tennislive.free.fr

Before the start of Doha, Brisbane and Chennai ATP 250, Davydenko is virtually
ranked #27 (-5)... He won Doha last year and can hardly be considered
as a serious contender this year...

your basing that off his form last year..its a fresh start to this season lets wait and see what kind of form he's in and how he plays his first games before writing him off completely

i doubt he'll defend either but i dont think he'll be going down early

Thanks ! Hopefully the site refreshes almost automatically after each match.
Apart from possible errors, the results will be up-to-date.

You are right... The players form can be different at the start of the season...
Especially this is the very first tournament. The top players certainly target
a first peak of form for the AO...

Anyway I hope for Davy that he will do well. He had a such a tough season last year...

Well Brands does have a Singles ranking, so he will be on it.

Automatically updated! You must be a great coder! Interesting to see the World Tour Finals Qualification Cut in the race standings, some maths involved in that one. Excellent work dude!

Thanks ! I am really happy to see that so many people are interested in the site.
Especially given all the time spent on it !

The coding itself is not so difficult... The tricky part is really to understand
all the ATP rules concerning the rankings. A real nightmare !

Looks good but it will be a lot of work to keep it up-to-date.

By the way, the stats posted on your site concerning the rankings
per category are really interesting:
http://statracket.net/?view=articles/2010category.html

It shows how much Nadal has improved on hard court / indoor / grass.

And also the importance of slams in the rankings is impressive !
Apart from Wawrinka/Ferrer, the top 15 players of 2010 are also in the top 15
if you take only the Grand Slams points.

Tough times for Davy ! He will be at best #34 after the AO.
When you think he was in the top ten a couple of months ago...

I am not sure that using the rankings alone for betting is a good idea :)

Thanks to his impressive win against F. Lopez,
young gun Bernard Tomic, aged 18, reaches a new career high.
He is currently ranked #178 before AO R32.

You're right !
Hopefully he will not have to play Futures tournaments !!!
He still can use the protected ranking rule to enter
ATP tournaments and grab some big points.

I expect him to be back in the top 100 soon...
He is already in the top 100 in the 2011 YTD "race" rankings (about 60th).

Still, he has yet to gain confidence, pace and power to get back to his
end of 2009 form...

He can still enter 8 tournaments with his PR. Hopeffully it is enough for him to get his form back
