Ljubo, Pics and Melzer, I don't think so. I have my doubts about Monfils too.

Obviously the younger players have better chances but you never know.

Youzhny should be in the poll.

I'd say yes to all of them except Gasquet, probably Ljubo and maybe Ferrer. Melzer I can definitely see making one at Wimbledon or US Open with the correct draw and an upset. Monfils is a very good clay courter, and also I think AO is a court he can do well on. As Misha should definitely be on the poll, because he certainly has chances, possibly the best chances of any of these guys.

Gasquet will probably make at least another 1/2 final at Wimbledon considering it's by far his best surface and the lack of very good grass players in this era(he was unlucky to miss Wimbledon this year while he was playing his best tennis). No chance of making a GS 1/2 final in the others GSs though. You can't play as well as he played against Roddick and Murray on grass if you're not a very good grass court player.

Monfils will be lucky to make another 1/2 final with his clear lack of weapons.

Verdasco might make a FO's 1/2 final in the next few years.

Melzer: NO

Cilic: Probably,at USO or AO.

Ljubicic - NO

Why ask Jase anything about Gasquet. He'd say he'd lose to King Oscar in Wimbledon. He's the one who claims he'll never get back to top 20 FFS

Nice question.

I'd elmiminate Melzer, Ljubicic and Gasquet from those options.

Ironically, Ljubicic perhaps should have achieved more in Slams when he was at his peak, and only got his major break at the French Open courtesy of a very soft draw. Age, quuestionable health, and more depth to the current tour works very heavily against him now, so I don't give him any chance whatsoever I'm afraid.

Melzer is another one who has underachieved in Slams, but I feel that the French Open was a freak result for him. He is capable of solid R4 showings though.

Gasquet - If he can work on his mental issues and a more constructive gameplan then he can get right back to the top level of the game. But as things currently stand I see him as a solid top 30 player with results more like R3-R4, and a few QFs. He needs to believe in himself a lot more.

Ferrer - capable of another SF at the French Open, but it would probably have to be this year, while he is still hot. However, his problem is that when his intensity dips he becomes quite vulnerable (no bit shot to rescue him), and it is very difficult to play at a consistently high level, match after match, at the French Open.

Verdasco - I sense that we might have seen the best of Verdasco, although he can remain solid top 12. He has the talent to get to another SF, but he still struggles a lot mentally.

Monfils - very entertaining to watch, and if one day he decides to focus 100% on results rather than pleasuring the crowds, he is capable of reaching the SF at Australian Open and US Open as well imo.

Cilic - he CAN do it again, but the question is whether he becomes 'just another big hitter.' If he can get his game together he will be a rough draw at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open.

It's Schuetter, not Shitler :)
Get it right, yeah?

Ferrer and Melzer could do it again. Ferrer at the French and Melzer at Wimbledon. They'll need to make an upset and have a good draw, though.

The other clowns, except for Monfils have no chance to ever reach a semi final again. Monfils could do it at the French Open.

Monfils the most likely. Cilic and Verdasco might as well.
