Poll: How many extra slams is the calander year grand slam worth, on average?

Well take a player for this case study, who hasnt done a tremendous amount of damage at grand slams..say Ernest Gulbis or Gail Monfills.

Say they won a calander year grand slam in 2011. But no more slams in their career for whatever reason. So they retire with 4 slams.

Are they above career wise, an 8 slamer who never won a cygs or a career gs?

Say a player wins 2 calander year grand slams back to back, is he better than a player with 12 grand slams do you think?

Multiples of 4. Say Monfils won 3 calander year grand slams and finished with 12 slams. Would he be above Federer if he finished with say 18 slams, or even his 16?

Discuss.

Would you call a player the GOAT if he dominated and won 4 slams without dropping a set for a calander year gs, but never won another?

If a player won 2 CYGS, would he be above Ivan Lendl?

Bear in mind this means only 8 grand slam final appearances, Ivan had over 20. Does that count for anything?

We have already established that CY/Career slams are worth more than 4 standard slams because people elevate them above people with more gross ammount of slam titles.

:spit:

This is not a mathematical game

Furthermore the people you have in mind won't win a slam - EVER.

To win all slams in a year is just being lucky. Good draws, not sick or injured. Peaking at the right times.
The stars have to be aligned.
If Nadal missed the FO a few years ago when Fed won three slams it doesn't mean Fed was somehow better that year.

The true question is: how many brains are lost when reading a 2003 thread?

Just bitter Nadal fans who know Federer was closer 3 times than Rafa ever will be to the CYGS :o

Federer was never close to the CYGS if you look at each year chronologically.

lol, what he said was true, chronologically he has never won both the first 2 slams in the same year, so he wasn't really that close. It's not like he won AO, FO, Wimby, and loss the US Open final in a 5th set TB. If he had said he wasn't ever close well that'd be wrong as he won has won 3 in the same year before.

BTW, why is there not any options for 7-9 in the poll? I kind of think it's worth more than 6 but less than 10 lol, but I just picked 10

This is essential to be a GOAT, IMO.
