"slimmer" :haha:

Has an exhibition in around a week against Berdych as well, should tell us a lot if he plays well.

So this is why Krispy Kreme Donuts encountered severe financial difficulties.

In all seriousness good to see him in shape and it would be great to see him do well at the AO with all his supporters behind him.

86kg at 6'0? :-) That's about the same as Soderling, who's 6'3 or 6'4, and heavily built with it.

Good. Should definitely pay off for him, especially in Australia.

Probably has a few more pounds to shed, though I plugged in Fed, cheater and Roddick just for kicks and they all come out about the same - Roddick actually came out at 25 which is considered (just barely) overweight.

BMI should be taken with a pinch of salt for high-performance athletes because they generally have higher muscle mass than an average person. As muscle is denser than fat, it skews the healthy range up a bit.

He's very dangerous, considering he already was able to make a slam final, and now going to be better physically. Mentally will always be the deciding factor though, but fitness helps the mind to an extent.

Marcos is a worker, and he already made to the AO final, being fit and slimer will only improve his results.
Richard would never do that, physical training, body fitness and such. Too much work for lazy-Ritchie, better keep his bretzel-breadth

We all know what a Fit Dave can do; way to see Fit Marcos now.

FFS, I didn't think anyone but richie21/yuri is compelled to mention Gasquet in every post no matter what the topic, but there's actually two such people in the world. I'm a fan, but I cringe every time and it doesn't really matter whether it's in a positive or negative context either. Shut the fuck up about him when it has nothing to do with the topic. While you're at it, shut the fuck up with your obsession with Monfils and Tsonga too.

That BMI is crap anyways.. I have 186cm and 92kg but going to gym and training regulary, even six pack is little there xD And according to BMI i'm overweight, yeah right ;)

This is good for Marcos, hope he can get in top10 in 2011.

He will win a couple of minor titles in 2011.

This is long overdue, but better late than never. His fitness has always been the thing that's held him back, moreso his weight issues.

If he takes this fitness/nutrition plan seriously I expect to see him in the top 10 by the end of 2011. Or maybe I'm just being hopeful. Either way I've always loved his game, just needs to put it all together to disprove the sceptics.

Slimmer? I doubt it.
Faster? I doubt it.
Stronger? Maybe.

He won't do anything of note next year.
Sorry Baggy fans, but your man isn't top 20 material anymore.

Well from a few matches that I saw of him last year (eg. vs Nadal and Berdych in Cincy) he played top 20 tennis for sure, just the consistency still isn't there, but we'll see, personally I can see him getting back in the top 20.

Maybe.

Top 10 is out of the question, but maybe he can reach where Cilic/Melzer are around 14.
Then again, I can see him being around 15-20 and no further.

Of course you are overweight. You should be 76kg to be in perfect shape.

Perfect shape by who? I'm in really great shape now, trust me.. So i need to lose 16kg to be in perfect shape  :o
Just saw, Nadal have 9kg more then he should have according to BMI, so he is not in perfect shape too? (no, i'm not comparing myself to Nadal)
Like i said that BMI is crap, at least for ppl who regulary train..

So he's finally doing what every professional tennis player should or already has been doing for the last 30 years? Bravo!

My thoughts exactly.

Not eating pizza? hell of a sacrifice that. At least he realised he's been cheating himself four or five years before Mardy Fish did I guess.

Lack of fitness and proper conditioning (muscles etc) has let him down badly in the past, so I'm certainly interested to see this 'new and improved' Baghdatis. There is no questioning his talent, and it would be nice to see him in a realistic challenge for London WTF 2011.

We saw the effects of a healthier approach to the game for Fish last year, and it seems that Roddick is another one who has been working hard in the off-season. Good luck to them next year.

He played 12 bloody ATP 250 tournaments in 2010.. he won one of them so I think he can achieve that big task again in 2011. Mark my words

And he is in the top 20 right now, so clearly he is top 20 material...
He beat Federer and Nadal this year, both when they were at #1...

Planet Funk is campaigning hard right from the very start for the next edition of the ACC. it's truly a commendable task given that not many guys around here are willing to put such a heartful effort during the off season.

He's a hugely overrated player, this Marcos. One 250. That's all I'd give him.:o Mark my words: One 250 in 2011. That's it. Then his forehand makes a swipe for the fridge. :yeah:

No player has disappointed his fans more than Marcos.

Baggy went from 2.2 to 1.7 to beat berdych tomorrow. Seems some people are taking this seriously.

That's partly cos Berdy has been sick lately. Also partly to do with the fact he's barely been able to find the court for 6 months :-)
