Healey defeated Feeney 75 62 in the final. Not a bad performance from Healey considering Feeney made the AO Wildcard semis.

Nice work Heals, still going strong. I wish he would come out of retiremant just once for the AO qualies or the wildcard playoff, used to love watching him play. That match against Davydenko at the AO a few years ago was awesome.

Good thread Jay, I for one am interested in what's going on in these tourneys. I wonder if Reid will ever overcome his injury and illness problems. It's a shame he never really got the chance to see if he could make it long term on the tour.

Not sure if it qualifies as an AMT, however young Matthew Barton out-muscled Sadik Kadir in an exciting 3 set match in the Manly Seaside Men's Final on Friday, on a synthetic court surface.
Kadir reached the final with a 3 set win over Adam Feeney. Feeney had earlier struggled to overcome a rejuvenated Nathan Healey in a tough 3 set match. Barton had a semis win over Kyle Stoker, after dispensing with the No.1 seed Jun Woong Sun in the quarter-finals.

Great win for Barton, working with Sandon Stolle has really improved his game. Hope he can get a qualie wildcard into Sydney or the AO, he works very hard and deserves the opportunity.

Some very interesting stories and scores there. My goodness......Matthew Barton must be a real talent. The Manly Seaside always commands a great crew. I recall Todd Reid beating his sisters boyfriend Oscar Johansson or something like that a few years back. Sadik was defending his title from last year. Interesting that Kadir beat Feeney and we see Nathan Healey playing again. He obviously no longer works with Hewitt so is this a comeback?

I grew up playing with Barton in the juniors and I'll say he was never the most talented guy nor the best shotmaker, but he was by far the hardest worker and most disiplined and that has got him to where he is today. Really hope TA reward his hard work with some qualie wildcards.

WTF! Nick Lindahl is playing an AMT this weekend on the Sunshine Coast and it's only a Gold AMT!

Why didn't he play in AO Qualies??

Also in the AMT draw: Roberts Smeets (lost his first match) and Scott Draper who still plays lots of local tournaments and does very well...

EDIT: oops my bad. he did play AO qualies apparently

Scott Draper is amazing to still be playing and winning. Smeets just married John Millman's sister. Not sure what he does these days. I wonder if he coaches at the Millman family business?

lol how dare you make me so excited for a few moments there thinking it was Scott Draper!!! I'm kidding, but yes pity Smeets couldn't do anything here. I bet he hardly trained.

Also Nick Lindahl I'd be happy for you to stop beating our Aussie players in local events and go and play "home" in Sweden now.

At 34, Allen Belobrajdic is still popping up in draws now and then. I wonder if he might make a more serious comeback. He could probably do well, as he just flogged all his opponents to win a Gold AMT, losing only 13 games in 6 matches! (He beat Oz#70 Ferretti and Oz#57 Leeder-Chard to win too).

I agree Daniel 100 percent. He needs to go to Sweden and stay there!
