Edhead, thanks for keeping the faith. Stefan deserves to be in the Tennis Hall of Fame, period.

Thanks for all of the great photos, Edhead01! :) They brought back alot of great memories of my cheering for Stefan Edberg from the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California until the 1996 Davis Cup final in Sweden.

Thanks again! :bounce:

I thank you all for your kind words. I just wanted to remind people of a great champion who gave us beautiful tennis, dramatic matches, exemplary sportsmanship, great character, and - as if all that wasn't enough - he was (and still is) one of the handsomest athletes that the world has seen. The only reason that he's not better known in the U.S. is because he is not American and does not generate scandals.

Stefan was definitely snubbed by the Hall of Fame this past month, when they bypassed him to nominate Boris Becker, who should not even have been eligible yet. The Hall apparently had some kind of hidden agenda, and has yet to respond to the protests of mine and others. They may never.

I hope people don't forget Stefan - it astonishes me how many already do, including John McEnroe, who, in the recent US Open telecast, failed to mention Edberg when he cited Sampras and Becker as "the best server-and-volleyers ever, without question."

If you enjoy Stefan's photos, I recommend that you visit his site:
http://spazioinwind.libero.it/stefans/
as well. It a site expertly set up by an Italian fan, and some of the photos there are not seen anywhere else.

Thanks again.

Hi:
I made a couple of bad spelling errors in the previous posting that could lead to misunderstandings. Sorry - here's a re-post with those errors corrected.

Great pics Edhead.
Wish we could still see him play. Unfortunately I can't get to that exhibition in Nov. am going elsewhere on vacation around then.
Pity he doesn't play on the seniors tour then maybe there'd be an opportunity.
