Nice prediction by me ; )

Very nice to see Valent back on the circuit, but game with PHM gonna be hard.

The best chances from Swiss players tomorrow have Adrien.

I am a fan of PHM so was curious about his opponent in qualifying, Roman Valent. I looked up his records in both Junior and the main circuit, on the ITF website. It shows he was once the #3 junior in the World in 2001 and won both the Junior tournament at Roehampton, as well as Junior Wimbledon and beat Robin Soderling and Gilles Muller. Why has he not progressed as a pro - he is currently ranked #425 in the world. Inures? I really don't know his story.

He was rising in the pro circuit January - April he was #300 but after match with De Heart in April I didn't have any infos about him till today he gonna play tomorrow with PHM.

I can tell a little about his career in the evening, gotta go to the tournament now :wavey:

Hopefully a Swiss player can win:cool:

So you asked about Valent:

As you mentioned, he won the Wimbledon Juniors tournament in 2001 and was predicted a bright future. Then at first, he couldn't cope so much with the pressure and had also trouble with little injuries. In 2006 then he had a huge shoulder operation which continues to have impacts on him to the day (he says he sometimes feels the pain while serving..). In 2008 he already wanted to end his career, but then he started playing some small tournaments here in Switzerland where he beat lots of good players. So he decided to play a little more again and started rising in the rankings. But actually he works mainly as a coach now and just plays some tournaments for fun, without much pressure, maybe that's why he plays better.
Still, no chance for him, players like Mathieu are just way too good.

Like all the other Swiss players, not much chances today :o
Very disappointing match from Lacko, he'd be a much better player than Guez, but couldn't get his game together, risking too much and making too many unforced faults.
Kamke was playing very solidly against Recouderc who already "gave up" in the middle of the 2nd set.
