The guys who withdrew outside of Ungur you could say all could take the title, so the draw is weaker now. Good opportunity for a few of these guys, especially Mannarino, Grigor, Clement and Phau. Also hopefully Mahut can get on track here, and Marc can continue his winning.

Arno should win two matches, but as we all know, he can lose to anyone.

Bjorn I also believe has a good draw to win two matches. He's going to want to avoid playing Kontinen, Bachinger or Krajinovic from qualifying.

Guez-Gremelmayr again, I think David will win it this time. The third quarter is definitely the toughest, really competitive matches on paper. Anyone can make it from that section.

I hope Nicolas beats Lacko, but I doubt it. If he does, that will show me he's coming back healthy and to a good level.

If Marc can continue the form he showed this week, he can make the SFs at least.

Grigor I think is the favorite to make the SF from his section.

Mannarino has a tough R1 with Bohli but should he win, I expect at least a SF.

Good luck to my favorites!

Feel tempted to say that Dimitrov can go forward but I want to see how he can develop against more experienced players like Dancevic in 2nd round or Clement in 1/4.
Phau has a good draw and there could be an hipothetical 1/4 clash with Mannarino (not sure how far Adrian can reach after winning Mons).

On the bottom half of the draw there`s an interesting first round clash between Marc Gicquel and Robert. Possibly Gicquel will be one of the semifinalist but I`m not 100% sure.
There`s another interesting first round clash between Mahut vs Lacko. One of them should be the other semifinalist.

Nice event.

Good luck for Matthew Ebden :yeah:

Filo V.
10-14-2010, 04:16 AM
Nicolas served probably in the 70s, he served a high percentage, it went down in the third set and that caused his loss. Bad loss, he had a lot of chances in the third set, was up a break, Bautista was hurting, but he just missed some volleys, and couldn't keep the consistency with the serve or returning. He lacks confidence clearly. But at least he seems better physically. He'll do better as he gets more matches, I still expect big things from him these next weeks. On a faster court I think he'll be better. Sad but not too surprising a loss. Unfortunate though because he could have made the final with the draw.

Filo V.
10-14-2010, 04:20 AM
Marc really should make the final in the bottom half but Sijsling could be tough.

I called the victory of Guez over Gremelmayr, I expect a win over Ebden as well.

Great win for Frank over Dimitrov, now the rematch with Arno. Hopefully Arno wins for the home country fans.

Phau should win his match comfortably. Kontinen v Bohli is the best match on paper for the day, hope I can see that one.

Great lineup for QFs.

Clement vs. Dancevic will be tough one. Clement couldn't found his form since USO but he HAVE TO if he he want stay in the top 100 end of the season. He'll defend 57, 90 and 115 points next three weeks. So Arnaud must win this tournament. But Dancevic is playing very good lately and seems like that he is finding his serve again. 50-50 match but Dancevic will take it if you ask me.

Bohli is better player on indoor courts than Phau in my opinion. But you can never know with Phau. He is very inconsistent player. Tomorrow he could play fantastic or awful match. Bohli is much more predictable player. So Phau needs step up his game tomorrow.

I couldn't see Ebden's play at this tournament but what i saw today from Gicquel that he was very impressive! Especially on service games he is rolling. Backhand looks poor. So if Australian could go to him backhand, he'll have his chances. He won two easy matches but Gicquel has the home court adventage. Gicquel will take this one in my opinion but i wouldn't be surprised if Ebden wins too.

I don't have really NO IDEA on Niland-RBA. Two similar players... But Niland is a little bit more rhtym player and it seems that he has it on this tournament. When Niland reaches quarter-final, he is finding semi or final too. Hope Niland wins.

That was the best match I've seen Marc play in a very long time. Extremely impressive tennis, he hit the ball forcefully, hit is hard, served really well, great at the net. Only issue was the backhand went off too often, as Luinir said, especially on return. He'll really need to work that out, because the forehand was excellent.

Agree with Luinir about Arno. This event is crucial for him to do well to stay in the top 100. I think he's going to win tomorrow, French crowd I expect to pull him through in two tight sets. Rennes is a quicker court than Mons but not overly fast either, so he should do better with his serve but also should have opportunities to break Dancevic if he returns well.

I expect Niland to beat Bautista easily.

I hope a lot that Bjorn wins tomorrow but I think Bohli will win in two relatively tight sets. Like 7-5 6-4. This match could have a lot of breaks of serve.

As for Ebden-Gicquel, I think Ebden really. He seems to be hot and I'm not sure Marc can keep his level up. Ebden hits the ball really well and has a good serve, so Marc will have to protect his serve games well and take advantage of his opportunities. Hopefully Marc wins and makes the final, he has a good draw to do so, just needs to execute.

Expected result. Bohli is basically a better player than Bjorn now, but has still never reached the top 100. I wonder when he'll make the jump from being 120-150 to actually getting around 100. Maybe this is the event.

Good luck next week in Orleans, Bjorn.

I know, I just made this comment in the canadian players thread

the announcers in that stream are so Pro-Clement that it's actually annoying, I'm trying to watch the match and when Frank lost those 3 sp's at 6-3 they were like screaming for like the 2 points after that, it's impossible to watch the match with the sound on, it's riduclous, I've never seen announcers on a stream be so pro towards one player, they're worse than fans cheering for Clement literally

Clement is done long time ago :(

He was playing very good at USO.

Anyway, Dancevic played a good match and deserved this victory. Served very well, forehand was OK, even backhand was average today. I think he has a good shot for the title here. On the other hand Clement didn't played his best tennis for sure. His serve gone in the third set, also he made a lot of errors in the third set. He made great comeback in the first set tiebreak but nothing more... I think he will not keep his points from Stockholm, Lyon and Paris. And will be out of top 100 end of the season.

Now, bring on Ebden and Gicquel. Another great match coming i guess!

two injury time-out wich lasted at least 5 minutes that's strange. What's wrong to need strapping both ankle

Dancevic improved his baseline game at the end but helped by some missing points by Arno at 30-30 or deuce on Dancevic's serve. That was a close match, Dancevic could be tired tomorrow otherwise he has chance for the win as Bohli he's not fabulous.
