o.O

Well I think most would rather take that than being overweight. I mean at least he won't have to worry about lugging around extra pounds.

he still looks overweight.

Good idea, post a pick where he's hitting the ball.. I bet Murray would look around the same in a similar pos, and he's as well trained as any.

Guga, looked about like that, and he could play for 10 sets.

Fitter than he was and the consistent results as of late I think give witness to the fact.

Fishy seems to be having a career year and people doubt his fitness?:rolls: GM accelerating right in time for New York. great stuff.

He said that he actually can't stop losing weight, that he's still losing more and that it's too much. Said something about figuring out the right way to eat in order to maintain where he's at.

It's weird how Fish suddenly decided to get fit at this stage in his career. What a waste of talent.

Good luck to him though.

And yeah, he looks kinda unhealthy in the pics. I wonder what the hell he's eating.

He's eating? Wow, I wouldn't know just by looking at him.

Seriously though, as a player you need to actually eat a lot, and healthy, but he's obviously not eating enough. I don't see him lasting long in matches being as skinny as that.

He definitely lost muscle mass too, but lot ot fats, as well. His rectus abdominis actually appeared if you watch closer, it's not a 6-pack, but a 4-pack at least.:D His body fat percentile obviously got a lot lower.

All it takes to get the six packs visible is to get a body fat percentage lower than say 7. Any appropriate diet combined with good training will get you that ;) :p

Not a lot of tennis players are ripped...

That's how tennis players used to try to look years ago, not like body builders.

Having a high muscle/fat ratio is surely useful in almost any sport, tennis included.

I am totally incompetent in this but I've heard that women have naturally higher body fat percentage, is it true?

That is true Maria, and men can get "rid of fat" easier too... ;)

Mardy does look ill. But I doubt he isn't fit, right now. For people that were pudgy and then lose the weight, don't go developing six-packs over night. I bet he doesn't care about that sort of thing. He just wanted to improve his movement, be a little faster and last a little longer. And now he does.

I do wonder what his pretty wife think of her new-found...um...svelte(sick-looking) husband?

Just watch the way he plays and moves now compared to one year ago. Look at how well he is performing late in matches. Look at the power he still possess on his serve and groundstrokes.

And most importantly, look at his results this summer.

Bear in mind, he is a tennis player, not a NFL football player or bodybuilder.

08-30-2010, 07:46 PM
Good grief. This is how a healthy person looks like with low fat and an average amount of muscle. He just has less muscle and less fat then most tennis players.

Bare in mind even nadal has a wimpy body compared to many athletes such as basketball players. Their are different types of fitness.

Manorexic. He is thinner than I expected and it doesn't look good with his shirt off. He may not be in any danger, medically, but he looks ill.

He does look ill, but he still produces considerable power in his game, so I guess it's all good. But I can't stop comparing him with Nole, same height, Nole is like 10 lbs lighter and Nole is ripped.

I don't know if it's just me thinking this, but I thought Fish looked fine before he dropped the 30 pounds. He looks great now too, but dropping that 30 pounds made him look too skinny, as if he's anorexic or something, which I hope he isn't.

Agrajag
09-07-2010, 01:01 AM
How long did it take him to lose those 15kg? I think most bodybuilders try not to lose more than 0,5kg a week. More than that and too much of the weight decrease is muscles. He needs some work in the gym, but guys like Monfils is way more ripped than he is.

I hate to say this, but Mardy looks like an old man in that pic.

I hope he's losing weight in a healthy manner.

Skinny isn't everything.

I was surprised to see that he has lost even more weight from a few weeks ago  Let's just hope his team knows what they're doing.
