Nice win. I thought his maiden challenger title would elude him at the start of the final set. It's something to build upon and take forward now, and by being more careful with his tournament selection and scheduling I hope he is able to gain further points to move up the rankings.

Amazing backhands, especially the match point one! Funny to see him so emotional after the win and throw all his stuff (5-6 rackets, shirt, handband) to the crowd! First time that I saw him live and I must say that he really impressed me. Great shot selection, great movement, excellent 1st and 2nd serve, nice volleys and dropshots etc... only thing is, I thought he was physically breaking down quite quickly (early in 2nd set) but fortunately, he gathered in time and was able to recover the 2 breaks early in the 3rd... congratulations to him!

Also, congrats to pablo... the guy was quite solid except when he had to serve to stay in the match. Said very nice words to grigor at the ceremony regarding his future, like he would win more challengers, even ATP tournaments and perhaps also grand slams...

It has to be said, by the way, that Geneva was a very poor Challenger and that his run to the final was very very easy (Stebe, Cervenak, Rochette, Goffin). I am not trying to take anything away from him, as he really has been having great results in Futures and as his win over Andujar is impressive, but the luck/weakness of the draw must be taken into account.

A 30K end August on clay in Europe can't be the strongest field.

Though it is one step above the futures and this is the right path.

If Dimitrov ends up maturing into the player he has the talent to be there are going to be about 5 million posts his fans will dig up on MTF to gloat over :devil: Trash talking about Dimitrov might even surpass Gulbis hate from last year :lol:

While I've previously read brief descriptions of the Bulgarian's game style and seen him touted as a promising talent, I've yet to see him play and know that some have been disappointed that he has yet to make a major breakthrough on the ATP.
