Once more, Nadal has Murray in his half in a hardcourt major

He's had him in his half of the draw in hardcourt majors since 2008 AO, which at least partially explains why he hasn't made more hardcourt major finals since then as two of his losses have been to Murray. I'd fancy Murray's chances against Federer in every round except the final, where unfortunately he doesn't play his best due to pressure. I'd also fancy Nadal's chances against Djokovic on hardcourts considering Djokovic's recent lack of form.

Poor Murray. Nadal is getting ready to fucking slay.

Idk, Murray kinda choked at Wimby. He should've been at 4-6 7-6 6-3...

I wouldn't want it any other way.

I don't think either mind, both seem to like each other, and neither exactly dominates the other. All you can say is Murray has the edge on hard, while Rafa has the edge on grass and obviously dominates on clay. Both are probably happy with that semi.

I thought it was Djokovic who was always in Nadal's half? The more things change...

no excuses.
if rafa wants to win the title he has to beat the best.
if he isnt good enough to beat the likes of murray, then his legacy will be tarnished.

he won't unless he is seriously injured. He has no reason to afraid of Murray even if Murray has more chance to win in hardcourt. Rafa's records speak for himself, there is long way before Murray can catch him

This is getting annoying. This also means that Djokovic and Federer are almost always in the same half. Federer d. Djokovic in the semis of the last two US Opens. I was really hoping for a Federer-Murray and/or Djokovic-Nadal match up before the final.

This. It's been Fed-Djokovic and Murray-Nadal many times, and Fed-Djokovic is almost never a good match, while Murray-Nadal is always decent quality but seems to always be straight sets. I happen to think Fed-Murray would be quite a good match in a SF, I think it would be their best chance to play a 5 setter. Same with Djokovic-Nadal

So, you want him to win the title without beating the best out there?

^ How do you go from "once more, Nadal has Murray in his half in a hardcourt major" to "so, you don't want him to win by beating the best"?

The player he would have in his half would be a top player anyway so he would have one of the best in his half either way. It's not as if people are expecting the ATP n° 256 to be in his half instead of Murray.

it's not like Mugray is some unbeatable force on fast Decoturf anyway, like Roger has proved before and will most likely do the same this year. Nadull is simply not good enough to overcome scott pusher on hard - so who's fault is that then?

At least the top half should be first and they will have more deserved rest.

Good for Murray, not so great for Nadal. He seems to be a good matchup for Andy on hardcourt. I hope to see a replay of the resutl in Tornonto if they both get to that stage.

Brands is also in this half so this is a very rough draw to both players. Hard to know who will make the final between Murray and Brands.

poor nadal has a player in his half that never won a grand slam. ever.
that must be really though.

Rafa is always unlucky with draws.

I happen to think Fed-Murray would be quite a good match in a SF, I think it would be their best chance to play a 5 setter. Same with Djokovic-Nadal

It would be more interesting SF. I believe Murray has better chances of beating Fed in the SF of a slam than in the final. And Nole in the SF could beat Rafa. So Fed-Murray/Nadal-Nole SF would add new dimension to the game since we could have a Nole-Murray slam final. But with the traditional Fed-Nole and Rafa-Murray SF the final is very predictable. Fed defeats Murray:o

You mean suspicious...? I am seriously hoping an ATP or ITF official to come up with a tell all book about 'draw conspiracy' sometime in the future. USO already has quite a reputation to show favouritism towards certain players( agassi in 90's) *cough* federer's draw *cough*

So, you want him to win the title without beating the best out there?

1. Muray is not "the best out there" on hard courts until he wins a couple of slams on the surface.

2. Djokovic is not exactly an easy matchup for Nadal on fast hard court. Djokovic whether playing good or bad can hold his own against Nadal on hard courts, especially fast ones.

Too bad Fed is not #3... Nadal's best bet to reach the final would actually be if he had Federer in the semis. His game matches up well to Fed on any surface and he has the mental edge.

It sucks for both of them. Its the last person Rafa would want to play, and it would be better for Andy to play Roger in sf. If Andy plays the way he is capable of like in Toronto, he beats Federer, if he lets the pressure get to him, and gets too defensive he will lose again.

Roger, got a cakewalk though, so thats all good.;)

Its the last person Rafa would want to play

murray isn't unbeatable

i would say djokovic is a tougher matchup for rafa on a fast hard court

either way, you would have had nadal fans complain

no excuses.

More an observation than excuse. It's curious, but I don't believe in conspiracies. Even if the draws were fixed, I feel the talented enough will come through it. Or a fluke win by a player on a hot streak.

You guys act like it's a certainity that Nadal will make semis.

Will you go on record and say unequivocally that he won't?

it's not like Murray is some unbeatable force on fast Decoturf anyway, like Roger has proved before and will most likely do the same this year. Nadal is simply not good enough to overcome scott pusher on hard - so who's fault is that then?

Ugh. See, I agree with the point, but you just had become an hater:rolleyes:. Anyway, I fixed that for you.:ras::angel:

That was CD and the like. Do not lump all fans of a fanbase together. Some of us can recognize and admit our faves faults and weakiness. But don't go getting on a high horse, either. You, too, would complain...if you were of fan of a player with something to complain about.
