Yet again, Hewitt and Federer are scheuled to meet in the 3rd round.

This is becoming a joke. It seems like every RG, he meets Nadal in the 3rd round, and every other slam, he meets Federer in the 3rd/4th round.

Maybe he should get his ranking up so he doesn't have to play them so early. :wavey:

Maybe he should get his ranking up so he doesn't have to play them so early. :wavey:If it wasn't for his injuries this year, no doubt he would of avoided Nadal and Federer in R3.

Hewitt can't play on hardcourts without getting injured and most of the points on offer are on hardcourts which leaves him ranked around 30 so he's always likely to have a tough R3 draw.. it is a bit annoying that it's usually Federer though, except at the French where it's almost always Nadal.

Then it's a vicious cycle. How to get your ranking up when you struggle for a good run without injuries and always run into Fed and Nadal in R3 at the majors. It's tough, but that's life :)

Looking at recent history, Hewitt is 1-0 against Fed

And how about if we look 17 matches before that?

Ancient history.

People only remember Halle '10.

That's what you get when you aren't a Top 10 player anymore

Yeah, feel sorry for Hewitt, but like Voo says such is life for those not ranked high.

Plus, you never know.

Ivanesivic and Roddick top the living crap out of him in terms of unlucky.

Losing in the 3rd round all the time to the champion is not as unlucky as losing repeatedly in Grand Slam finals... repeatedly... by almost the same people.

Being a counter-puncher, however, is a style that punishes both your opponent and yourself. Hewitt should take it easier in terms of scheduling and I guarantee he'll get a good enough ranking to meet Fed or Nadal or whoever high-ranked enough into the 2nd week and beyond.

Lleyton's played Rafa like 4 of the last 6 years at RG, and he seems to play Roger lots at the USO indeed  Hopefully it's better than the crapfest they played out last year

Federer is a joke. Hewitt crushed him like a fly at Halle Gerry Weber Open this year.

He won't lose any sleep over this, I predict the upset here. Federer out in R3.

It is getting beyond a joke. I created a new thread on his draws over the last few years and every slam I keep thinking okay he's had his share of shit draws, time to get a good one but it just keeps continuing :o

I just told you Hewitt's going to knock out Federer. What more do you want? This is actually good for Hewitt esp. considering he's beaten him very recently.

Better yet, it'll show what a mug Roger Federer really is. So much for that grand slam quarter-final record.

Do u guys even believe in Hewitt beating Federer?First of all Hewitt hasn`t played anything good on hardcourt in ages+Federer is coming from 2 good weeks in the Masters Events. Also there is a big chance that Hewitt might loose before he would even face Federer by playing Matthieu in first round.
Hewitt barely beating Federer who played really bad in Halle in 3 sets doesn`t give him much promise coming into a 5 setter against a better prepared Federer
