Maybe, but Murray has Berdych, and Rafa has an easy draw, at least so far, on paper. Very easy to get to the SF. Murray has a much tougher draw at least so far, so it's not like they'll even play each other in the SF. Anyway, to be the best, you have to beat the best.

I hope the Soderer QF happens and the quality of tennis is as good as their last two sets at the USO in 2009. Robin will have more confidence this time, though, after beating him in Paris - so could be even more mouth watering considering Federer is looking for revenge. IF the match happens that is.

It's true though that Soderling's draws in slams of late have been very tough. It's a credit to him that he's gone deep more times than not over the last couple of years.

Filo V.
08-26-2010, 06:16 PM
Roger's draw is easy to the QF, Lleyton is not a threat to win over him in R3, if Lleyton gets there. Robin, with De Bakker, Dent, Falla and Cilic, isn't a shoe in for the QF. We all know he isn't immune to inexplicable defeats. Blake got a damn good draw and could make the 3rd round here. Troicki and Nole playing each other again, Nole should win as he did in Cincinnati. I don't see Nalbandian making the QF, but if he does, the match against likely Rafa will be tight. Nando playing Fabio who beat him at Wimbledon and then Nalbandian in R3 surely isn't what he wanted. Rafa's draw is comfortable but not easy whatsoever. Gaba is a tough R1, Istomin, Simon/Kohli, difficult players, who can make matches interesting and hit the ball hard.

The guy who lucked out the most is Murray. His draw is ridiculously easy to the QF, even with Sam there.

Filo V.
08-26-2010, 06:19 PM
Gulbis easily could lose R1 to Chardy. I think Ferrer is the most likely to play Rafa in the QF. Fish/Baghdatis will be very tough if they play, and if they play a long drawn out match, that will be a major advantage for Nole in the next round. Honestly, Roddick could be the favorite to make the SF to play Roger.

misty1

ernests better not lose in the first round, he's gone out first round in australia and wimbledon, he deserves to get a win this year:(

Let's take off the fanboy blinders and get real. Andy got an extremely soft draw. Extremely soft all the way to the QF. And outside of Berdych, if he loses early, then it's all the way to the SF, with Misha struggling and Isner injured. Keep it real, his draw is cakewalk. Especially compared to Rafa with several guys who have beaten him, and ball-bashers like Gaba R1, Istomin hard hitter and one of the most dangerous floaters who almost beat him in Queens in R2.

one thing is for sure alot of the qualifiers are going to have some very winnable matches

absolutely

SOOOO true.

Tommy R. struggling.

Monfils injured.

Pablo not good on hard court.

Monaco coming back from injury.

Gonzalez coming back from injury.

Ball inconsistent.

Korolev inconsistent.

JCF coming off an injury.

Sweeting is a WC.

Rainer mediocre.

Ljubicic sucks at slams.

Riba--no words needed.

If you can avoid Theimo, Soderling and King Dave, you can do really well for yourself as a qualifier here. If you draw Ferrero, Ball, Rainer, Monaco and Ljubo, two wins are very possible.

Don't think Ferrero, Schuettler or Ljubicic will lose to any qualifiers.
And Montanes won't either, so drawing Ball won't win you 2 rounds.

The others though...possibly.

Murray = Fair enough, but I've been hearing a lot of that lately

On another note Nadal's draw has tonnes of Spaniards in it, and you know what that means
Apart from Istomin and Kohlschreiber, most of Nadal's draw is a cakewalk.

BTW, fanboy blinders? From you? LMAO, you're one of the most blinded posters on here.
Blake a 3rd round?? Seriously? :spit:

Federer's draw is so sweet. He is already in the final. Nole won't even make it to SF. Federer to win his 6th USO.

Because it's rigged.

Hope it backfires and Kohli brutally destroys him.

i dont think he'll destroy him but perhaps the fact that he had a couple chances to beat nadal last time they met will feed him to a first ever victory

Rafa always gets Murray! :( So unfair for Rafa. He had him in AO and Wimby this year already :(

The draw is rigged.:wavey:

Don't take the fanboy thing serious, I was being facetious.

But I'm not blinded by anything. Except when it comes to Pippo and Simone. Pippo and Simone is to me what Murray is to you. You think I'm blinded when it comes to Rafa, but I'm not.

Seriously, though, Murray's draw is extremely easy. I can't recall right now his draws in Toronto or Cincinnati, I can't say Nalbandian in the QF is easy though at Toronto, or Fish in the QF at Cincinnati.

Rafa's draw is comfortable, but it's not easy. He'll have to play well beginning in R1.

Blake has Vliegen and then Q and Monaco. Third round definite potential there.

depends on who that qualifier is

if its someone like tomic, berankis, nishikori or dancevic i dont think he's winning

Rainer definitely could lose to a qualifier. JCF is questionable, but he's been injured and hasn't in a month. His hard court results I don't think have been that great either this season. Ljubo, again, is he healthy enough to give 100%? Also, we know he chokes in majors. I think he'll probably win, though.

Monaco, who I forgot to originally write, is by FAR the best draw for a qualifier. That is a third round just sitting there for anyone to take. I surely hope that no-one from the 5th section of the qualifying draw goes there, because I would die if Simone could have been placed there had he qualified.

True. But it's a better opportunity than a definite loss which he could have had.

True, but Kamke hits that hard ball, and is an offensive aggressive baseliner, that's not the type of player P-Kohl likes. Kamke has the ability to hurt Phillipp off the ground consistently. If Simon and Phillip play, I'm sure Simon will win, because Gilles will just wear P-Kohl down.

You're blinded when it comes to Simone and Pippo, so that makes them to you what Murray is to me?
I'm not blinded by Murray, so that comparison is complete nonsense.
You think I'm blinded when it comes to Rafa, but I'm not.
Excuse me?
Where in my post did I say that?
I called you blinded because you make ridiculous statements, like saying Blake will reach the 3rd round, or the gem below :spit:

Anyway, he gets either Verdasco and Almagro quite often, who both bend over for him all the time.
