I have been counting points right now and really Roger can be to end of the year world number one. Most important thing ist right now for Roger to win US open and hope that Nadal will loose in QF or even in 4th round. Now before Us open Rafa has 10 745 points and Roger has 7215- after Us open when Roger wins he will have 8015 and Rafa if loose in QF lost 360 so Rafa will stand on 10 385- i think it is very possible for Roger to win Us open and for Rafa with his curent form on HC that he will loose in QF to someone like Berdych, Soderling, Davydenko or anyone other who is hot right now. Than after US open are some 500 tournaments but i think thay won´t start there while they both will prepare for Shanghai masters- where Roger after Us open title should be very confident and win there it means about 9000 for Roger and Rafa must defend his final from last year what i think on indoor hard surface will not be able to defend- maybe SF or QF- that means he lost another 240 or 420 points and will be somehow about 10 000- just 1000 more than Roger and still Paris indoors and WTF which should Roger win and Rafa will not go further than SF on any of these HC indoor tournaments becaues other players like Murray, Berdych, Soderling, even Davydenko are better. So i think if Roger win US open and Nadal wil lnot make to the SF there is possibility for Roger to be number one to end of the season and if not he should have so many points that after Wimbledon 2011 he will be number one for sure. With some points less than Rafa next season he will defend AO tittle and even if he fails Rafa will go maximum SF but than Rafa defend everything 3clay masters, RG, Wimbledon and Roger anything and in form he can win or go to final in IW, Miami too , SF or F on RG and F or W on Wimbledon should be clear thing. What do you think?

cool story bro.

I think had a Rafa fan posted he would win 3 masters 1000s, 2 majors and his No.1 rankings back, earlier this year, Fed fans would have been :haha::rolls:. But I'm a nice person, so I won't do that. Welcome to the animalhouse.

What do you think?
I think you are a huge Federer fan with time on your hands.

Federer needs to win the USO, WTF, and defend his AO title, I think. If he did that, it would be very close.
But it's a big ask.

Do we have a children section here ?

Not this year, that's obvious.
C'mon, I don't liek Rafa, but look the VERY BIG campaign he made this year, is it beatable?
Let's wait until june/july 2011

Roger would have to win everything, while Nadal would have to lose fairly early. If you're a fan of Federer, this is known as the dream scenario, and not the basis for general discussion.

I think Roger will be back as #1, and we probably don't have to wait for too long. However, some are predicting him to get the #1 spot back by the end of the year. I think that is doubtful, but he'll probably have the #1 back by Wimbledon.

It all depends on Roger winning at least two of the (US Open, WTF, Australian Open)&& Rafa not doing well at these events && Rafa losing some of his tremendous clay court points.
Too much asking?
I think he can make it next year by the end of Wimbledon. It is his last chance IMHO though.

I wrote possible after WTF,i think there is a chance but not big by end of the year to be No.1 but i am pretty confident about Roger beeing No.1 after Wimbledon. There is this thing- Rafa will never be better on HC than Roger that means Roger should earn more points and win most of big HC tournaments- US, AO, WTF, PARIS, SHANGHAI, IW, Miami- in those tournaments he should earn much more points than Rafa in generally. On other side Rafa must defend everything in clay court season-probably he is capable of really his 5000 points for MC, Rome, Madrid and RG defend but still Roger has big potential to earn here points- because he is practically defending nothing in clay court season- he can do SF, F on every of this tournaments. And then Wimbledon- most important tournament for me next year- Wimbledon will on 90% decide who will be after that No.1. And if anyone thinks Roger is getting old and weaker- yes he is older and that- but he knows that he will change his game somehow to be still competitive and if Roger is getting older or someone things he will be weaker and weaker what about Rafa- who knows what with knees and other issues he has- I think that is more predictable that in one of them 2 will be without form it will be Rafa thanks to his style of play not Roger who is trying to play not so physical- that he can still play few years. ANd I am not only Rogers fan, I am also Novak fan, Del potros , Gulbis and many others who play good tennis.

you are an optimistic lad aren't you? When Rafa turns around he can barely see Roger back there.

cool thoughts! love it and wish to happen.
but lets wait and we will see. the most possible is after Wimby

Bandwagon for Federer, too good this MTF.
08-26-2010, 05:56 AM
Rafa should be able to hold year end #1 this year.
But come next year, Roger can get back #1 if he is still motivated by the time Wimbledon ends, since Rafa has 7,000 points to defend during the clay season and Wimbledon.

Good efforts mate. But to many "if" s are replaced by "when". He will take N1 back, that's for sure. Everything else you wrote look
And don't forget Nadal's fans have Everko and Start da Game, while Roger's one don't need such creatures. No need to prove me wrong.

Nadal has too large of a lead to pass him this year unless JesusFed randomly shows up for the rest of the year (highly unlikely) and Nadal loses in the early rounds consistently (also highly unlikely). However, things look good for Federer. Because after the US Open, Federer really only has major points from TMC/Australian Open to defend all the way until Madrid/FO. Nadal as we all know, has quite a lot of major points to defend until the clay court season. 1 ATP 500 SF, 1 ATP 500 F, 3 MS SFs, 1 MS F and his QF at the Australian Open. Nadal can also still just do "enough" at these events and possibly not lose many points at all, if any, and actually be able to pick up some points at TMC and Australian Open. But considering Federer and Nadal's histories at the events for the rest of the year and beginning of next year, I think it is likely that Federer will end up regaining the number one ranking eventually. However, it would be very naive to say he will dominate the position.

The sure way is to start stinging pins in a Nadal doll :yeah:
Don't know how to make Fed win everyhing from now to the end of the year, though :awww:
