Very sad and unfortunate match to watch. Congrats to Radek on winning.

Expected. Gonzalez will become Stepanek's pigeon after their next meeting.

Gonzo needs time and matches...Stepanek was ok but nothing brilliant...enough to get the job done

expected one

You were right.................in the back of my mind I knew it too, but I didn't think Gonzo would play like that, I should have known since he's been out since May. I overestimated him and underestimated Radek a bit. Radek exposed that backhand time in and time out.

well i was abit lucky too with my prediction

yes the rallys went like that but Stepanek still looks damn rusty even after 7 matches in NA
doubt this wolud be enough against a solid top 70 player

True, that's why I believed Gonzo had a real chance. Stepanek isn't in any real condition to beat a decent-high level player at this point in time, I was unimpressed with his game today. He's definitely rusty and his game is weaker than it was before. One thing he did do well though was make Gonzo hit the extra ball, he still has his movement. He is the type who has so much going on with what he can/likes to do on court with his strategies, and he needs time to put it all together and execute regularly.

Maybe, but we'll have to see more of him before we can accurately assess. He did look slow as hell today and his footwork was virtually non-existent, so that's going to be a real issue going forward if that doesn't improve quickly. He needs more match toughness.

Steadily approaching retirement, both of these guys.

I think that Adolf Hitler is much more attractive than Radek Stepanek. He must have suffered horrible facial torture by Dr Rictus. :apumpkin:

Gonzo

When will Gonzo find his form again? I know he's been out for a long time due to an injury, but this sucks. Gonzo was one of the most dangerous players. Now, not so much.. I wonder if he will ever come back and play as well as he used to. He sure as hell isn't getting any younger, and these injury breaks don't help either. Sad, but it's the reality.

He shoild not
He was out for the most of the season. What kind of game you expected him to show? And he does not like play against Stepanek. In any kind of form

Hanescu will be a legitimate test to see where Radek really is with his game.
