I am sorry to announce to all the fangirls, but Verdasco is the dumbest player in the Top50000000000000000 :wavey:

Yes! So nice to see Fiasco fail. He didn't look at Fish when shaking hands and he didn't shake at all with the umpire.

Fernando clearly can't handle pressure on serve. He had 2 double faults in 1st service game (always a nervous point) then threw in 2 more in the 1st tie breaker and another in the second tiebreaker. Besides those 5 he only had 1 other in the match.

I just knew he would chooke away the 2nd breaker aswell.

Tennis wins again, good to have Fish and Gulbis still in Muzzzzas draw.

He made 6 double faults - 2 in the opening game and the rest on the most important points

Had a chance to go ahead in 2nd set tiebreak, but played the dumbest forehand you will see when he had million options to play it differently

Had a setpoint in 2nd set earlier and dominated the rally to play STUPID BAD dropshot which Fish cought quite easily

Nando was pissed about the line calls all day (no hawkeye?) then he cursed when he missed an easy passing shot in the first at 6-5 to give Fish some break points. The umpire gave him a code violation. Nando got pissed and said "Why? Why you give me this? He says 'fuck' all the time". (lol) Then after he lost the first set Nando said to Mardy ..."Merry Christmas!".

BTW, Fish saved first out of two setpoints in impressive style and his second point of the 2nd tie-break was awesome (3 volleys)

LOL. Sounds pretty much like a bad rerun of what happened in the final in Nice when he played against Gasquet. Nando cannot keep his cool in the moments that matters. That is what separates him from the best, because he's not really a bad player, he's just a mental midget. He can never progress as long as he is behaving like this.

Mugdasco has one of the weakest second serves in the game, and yet this mug somehow is in the top 10. Clay season is a joke, glad this mug is getting the beatdowns he deserves on hardcourts :yeah:

Fish really had his number though, as far as tactically. He didn't try to out pace him or out hit him, he really did a great job of hustling, getting a lot of balls back from a defensive position and just tried to make Nando play longer rallies.

Many times Fernando would get impatient and go for a winner and he lost a lot of those points. I don't know what the winners stats were for Fish but he didn't have very many very often. He was getting points from Nando hitting balls long, wide and in the net.

I think this probably added to his frustrations because he's clearly the better player. When he's rallying with Fish it's basically a no contest and yet he lost. Another thing Nando has to work on is his second serve return, I don't know what Fish was serving at but he didn't make that many first serves and Nando missed a lot of easy second serves, especially on break points.

Fish's first serve % was only 58 I think, not fantastic. It started to let him down in the 2nd but Nando didn't take advantage.

And yeah, he really did say Merry Christmas! After arguing with the umpire twice over a line call and the swearing issue. He needs to calm himself. Fish was composed and had that over him as well.

Because Fish beat Federer in Indian Wells 6-3 6-2 having only 34%, he doesn't need bother too much about his percentage ;)

Tbh, I do wonder why all the Americans were put on the court without hawkeye. Bit of a home crowd advantage from the linespeople? A lot of the close calls went against Verdasco.

And Fish swears, along with a lot of players, so to punish just one was petty. Nando does suck tho, cant believe he beat Murray on hard :tape: :rolls: What a difference a year and a few months can make.

Good stuff from fish. Thought he was going to choke it a couple of times, but verdasco was to quick on the draw..

Picked fish to make the next round here, but was not impressed with his first match. Much better today.

I must say I was noticing today that Fish really does have one of the best second serves on tour. It's probably why he goes for so much on the first. The bounce on it is unreal and he routinely gets it about his opponents shoulders. I would imagine in the scenario you provided (didn't watch the match) that he was kicking it up real high to Federer's one handed backhand, it's no secret that return can be a weakness of his. Long story short Fish's second serve is impressive. ;)

Fish will win the USO. Book it.:p

But seriously, how is Nando ranked 8th? I really don't pay him much mind. It seems every time I hear/read one of his results, he's lost in an early round.

I'm not surprised by this result. Mardy has been good this summer and Nando has been, well... :silly:

Nando was pissed about the line calls all day (no hawkeye?) then he cursed when he missed an easy passing shot in the first at 6-5 to give Fish some break points. The umpire gave him a code violation. Nando got pissed and said "Why? Why you give me this? He says 'fuck' all the time". He's also the dumbest????..............try the most useless player in the top 50 too. What is with him? Fernando has too much talent within and he is wasting it. Other players would kill to have the kind of talent he has, but he doesn't seem to appreciate it one bit. If he did, he would probably be top 5, winning a few big events every year. I don't feel sorry for Fernando one bit. This is all his doing until he grows up and takes tennis more seriously.

Pretty much. I was there and it was just ugly. I love him, he's my second favourite player, but he just cannot keep himself together under any kind of pressure. He said in a Davis Cup interview that he didn't work on his mental game until he was a professional. Fernando :o

Verdasco really is just overranked compared to what he delivers on the court. So this loss is expected and quite frankly, Nando will probably lose early at the US Open. Someone as mentally weak as he can be really has done great to get as far as he has.
