US Open 2010 Final: Federer vs Nadal?

Okay,

So as the title of the thread suggests: Will Federer and Nadal meet in the final of the US Open 2010?

This is also assuming that they both are on opposite sides of the draw as well.

I know this maybe feel like its a bit premature the think about but hey, give it a shot. ;)

Roger’s thoughts
on missing out on yet another Federer vs. Nadal final opportunity this week:

“I’ve played Rafa so may times we don’t need necessarily to play more and more and more. I hope we can play at the (U.S.) Open - that’s what I kind of hope for because that’s never happened before.”

The fact that they have never meet in the final before is something to think about, I reckon.

I think if Fed does worse than Nole in Cincy then he'll be seeded #3 for the Open. Less of a chance if that happens.

Roger and Rafa have met in atleast one Grand Slam Final each year since 2006. (Since 2005 if you include semis in the mix).

To keep that streak alive they will need to meet up in the US open this year. I think it happens. Not sure at the semi or final stage though.

I think there is a better chance that none of them makes it, but it could happen, obviously. If Roger can sort those little mental collapses out, i think he has a better chance to make it, because i honestly think (seeing him in Toronto) his movement, footwork, and shot making is at least where it was in 2008 before the USO comeback, if not better.

Federer/Nadal is the most likely final of any GS tournament.
