Well... The last set was like an exhibition like the tennis commentator said. Not so good 1st set...
Keep Rockin.

Llorda saving a break point with an underarm serve :haha: the surprise and then the big smile on Fed's face was priceless

entertaining match, Fed needs to pick it up if he wants to advance to the SF.

The same result as Nadal, only the tiebreak was longer for Nadal. Coincidence? lol

At least he won in straights, but Im not happy with his errors. His game is better than it was at Wimby. So, anyway good jod. Good luck to our great champion in the next round!
P.S. crowd loves him much, they went insane

You can tell the other players and the crowd really enjoy Roger. He was born to be the ambassador of this sport, and having him at #3 while a clown doubles pair of cheaters represents tennis is a crime :o

Anyway, good win Roger, beat BirdShit please :yeah:

Again, Roger played reasonably well, but he had two serious mental lapse, his level of play is definitely improving, again he moved well, so there are good signs also. The match against Berdych will tell us more i guess. C'mon Rog, you can do it. :)

I didn't see all of the match, but Federer's performance looked similar to a couple of days ago. His level of play is much better than it was at Wimbledon and the change of tactics is welcome (if years overdue). Federer's movement is much better and it's good that he's become more aggressive, flattening his strokes and going after his returns. However, concentration lapses continue and will cost him against better players. Federer's failure to convert big points could be even more risky for him than not being aggressive on returns or having poor movement.

He was 1/1 for break point chances in the first set today and 3/4 in the whole match. Of course Llodra had a bit to do with that, but I don't think that is really the most worrying of his game at the moment.

It is strange that both have been playing for so long and that was only their first meeting (they played once in a challenger 300 years ago)

And maybe the last one...

Probably Llodra wanted to do something extraordinary in this match to be remembered a bit. Therefore underam serve and shirt swapping imo.

Fed's movement and strokes looked pretty shaky in the 1st set, great tiebreaker though, and, minus the (now usual) brainfart, looked good in the second. Now time for a little revenge, Fedmug.

MICHAEL LLODRA: I talk in French, but I say, You have no chance. Give me your shirt.

Anyone else think Roger has slightly changed his serve? Doesnt seem to be arching/flexing his back as much.Perhaps to protect his lower back problems....

well seen.

I think this is absolutely right. And i came at the conclusion after watching a few of his 2003-2006 matches.

I had forgotten how different that serve was (much better b4 ofc)

He mentioned this before himself following last years AO and before FO

I hadnt noticed the change so much before, but think it has changed since FO and Wimbledon.
