Poor Mathieu and his ridiculous journey of tight defeats. A couple days ago 5:2 and match point up against Nieminen wasn't enough for him. He had to play as a lucky loser to get one more slap in the face. 6-3, 4:2 (30-30)... 5:4 (30-0) in the final set, 5:4 in the tie-break, and double fault at match point down without even trying to risk the second serve... :hatoff:

once correction. mathieu was up in the last set 5-4 but it was 0-30 on Lu's serve so at least Mathieu didn't choke the game from 30-0 on his own serve. The stats show a few things. Mathieu was ouplayed on second serve points, he didn't come to the net enough and its suprising Lu has more winners. With Mathieu's power advantage that shouldn't happen. It leads me to believe he isn't moving well at this time.

it's just another very tight loss in the same week for PHM, he shoulda had this one

lu is from taiwan, and once tennis becomes popular in china, watch out.
chinese are pretty darn good at these racket sports. i.e table tennis and badminton.

its just a matter of time, u need someone to inspire the fans, then it becomes popular.
just look at womens golf over the last 10 years, asians dominate that.
