Davydenko's win could restore his confidence a little.

i could only see live scores did anyone actually get to see him play?Yes, but I only watched from the end of the first set.
Kolya played pretty good, at least from there on. Fognini is a mug, though. DF on set point down, then he seemed to give up at about 3-1 in the second.

Yup and it wasn't a pretty site. Davy's game today was almost as bad as it was against Chela. Fognini was shit though. The point at 6-5 and set ball for Davy was the key of the match. Fogini served a good first serve Davy returned on the line, the linejudge called it out but thencorrected himself. The point was replayed and Fabio hit a double. From then on Fognini had the attitude of a beaten man.

But he was hitting the ball clean, as is his trademark, and he got some good depth and angles at times, too. Looked relatively fit. I think he'll win a couple of more matches here.

Well I think his mind is in the right place. He wasn't affraid of coming to the net. He hit some good volleys but he also missed some (including an awful smash that almost smacked Fognni in the head :D).
I'm sure a win against a top player get him back on track.

Fagnini just wanted a date with Davydenko so he let him win.

Fognini really blew this. 30-0, two points from a tiebreak, goes to run down a dropshot, sticks it in the net, gets annoyed at himself. Two wild errors and a doublefault later, match is basically over.

Nice to see Davydenko back from injury and playing well here. I didn't get to see watch the match, but Fognini is still too inconsistent.
