Gasquet has now lost 7 matches on hardcourt in a row!

Little heavy conditions today, Gasquet couldn't get the ball through the court enough. Bad performance 2nd set.

Steaknchips was excellent though, particularly on serve and the bps.

6-1? Damn. I only saw the first set.

His backhand looked pretty shaky. Didn't look too confident hitting it today.

 This was outright poor from Richard.

I really wonder what it is about his injury. If it is too bad to play, then take the necessary time to cure it. If not, show some resistance. This was a reminder of his worst times, when he just faded after the first set lost, which he had hardly done since he is with Markus and was fully fit.

Stakhovsky played very well though. Some magic on the court, particularly on those 8 Bps. And in the end he just had to serve.

gasquet will continue being the kind of player who displays occasional brilliance and nothing more than that.......also, not much can be done with just a great backhand.......you at least need one more aspect of your game to be great.......

Expected result. Richard probably should withdraw from Cincinnati. Sergiy was the better player throughout, served well, dictated play, and volleyed well. Richard gave up embarrassingly in set 2. Congrats to the Ukrainian.

typical gasquet giving up after going down
stakhovsky served much better in the 2nd set
he was hardly missing at the end of the match. Berdych might face a difficult task

Time for Gasquet to man up and either start working hard or quit. Pathetic result.

First serves at 167 km/h are certainly not a proof of full health.

If he is injured, there is no need to play like he did in the 2nd set.

It seems that Gasquet peaked when he was 18.

I'm laughing at all the guys who are having a go at Gasquet after this loss.
The guy is obviously injured and he only played because he is in a situation where he can't afford to skip tournaments.
Let's judge him when he is 100% healthy.

Stakhovsky has a good chance against Berdych.

I feel bad for french fans. Gascoke, Mugfils, and Clownga as the "talent", Simug and I guess Mahut as the only ones with any fight or mental stability. Gascoke is still the worst out of all though, he actually should have been banned from tennis :o

richie21 not immediately calling for Gasquet to be shot after a loss  Somebody must have hijacked your account :p

If he is injured, there is no need to play like he did in the 2nd set.

 So he should have retired or what? Or he should not have played at all? With this I agree.
