i fully expect xavier malisse to dispose of bags tomorrow. That was an atrocious performance from both players, and verdasco especially looked like a recreational usta player. The laughing from Fernando's coach and dad basically meant he will be tanking this match. He should be fined for this performance.

Verdasco has been really bad for a couple months now. Probably has to do with his ridiculous scheduling during the clay-court season.

It was a very poor match, but Marcos is through to the semis and is closer to the Top 20. If he wins against Malisse tomorrow, he will be back in it.

I'm watching the replay of the match now on Tennis Channel and the courts appear to be really fast, but as usual it's hard to know if that is due to the camera angle/focal length or what. Are the Washington courts considered to be very fast traditionally?

It is really painful as a fan to watch fernando's performances lately. it goes from bad to worse to just plain awful at times :o

This was expected. Baggy was my slight favorite before the match. I do agree about the match itself though, it was horrible! They both played well below their usual level. It really was a mug match. Anyways, a win is a win, so congrats to Baggy, though he needs to play a hell of a lot better if he wants to win against Malisse tomorrow.

Fernando's backhand is an average shot at best. Everyone said he's improved it, but it's so stiff and he struggles hitting it with pace.

Anyway, the match was low quality, Nando was really the better player when his shots went in the court, more forceful, more offensive. Unfortunately for him and his fans, that wasn't often enough. Really loose and lacking any sort of timing, and poor movement. He'll need to step it up or I can see an early exit at the US Open.

As for Baggy, he did what he needed to do. Congrats to him on the victory.

verdasco worked hard to improve his game in late 2008 and 2009 so he can be in the headlines and become a well known and popular tennis player, this way all the chicks will know who he is and then he can bang anyone he wants.

i reckon that was his goal for improving his tennis. get to a point where u are a pretty big name in the tennis world and that will lead to more chicks and more pussy. he has probably done 20+ pussies already. and if he gets to the nadal and federer league, he will get even more.

now he dont care that much about tennis or improving his game anymore, he got what he wanted.
