Just look at the 2nd quarter
Söderling, Monfils, Nalbandian, Ferrer, Gonzales (I know it´s his first tournament after injury), Malisse, Murray, Lopez
I chose Federer for the title.

I'm going with Duclos. First round qualifier, than hugely slumping Roddick, then probably Cilic who has been slumping since the AO, then Querrey/Wawrinka who are both clowns in big events. By that point the momentum from the Canadian crowd should push him to win against the rest of the slumping top 10

L. Mayer/Q
Q/Querrey
Cilic/Troicki
Tipsarevic/Kohlschreiber
Duclos/Q
Roddick

Nadal should win this quarter, but I see Cilic as more of a threat than Querrey or Roddick.

Murray
Malisse/Berrer
Lopez/de Bakker
Gonzalez/Monfils
Ferrer/Nalbandian
Robredo/Q
Gulbis/Bellucci
Soderling

Damn, this quarter is stacked. Ferrer-Nalby is 50-50, but if Dave gets through that and continues his God form of late, he will win the quarter easily. A more realistic scenario is Soderling putting up some resistance. Gonzo-Monfils, Gulbis-Bellucci, hot first rounders.

Malisse over Murray for the upset. Xavier is kickin ass recently.

Berdych
Stakhovsky/Gasquet
Dolgopolov/Petzschner
Simon/Youzhny
Almagro/Q
Llodra/Giraldo
Chela/Falla
Federer

Federer has no excuse. Some Wimbledon revenge over Berdych could be good for the psyche.

Davydenko
Q/Stepanek
Baghdatis/Chardy
Schwank/Verdasco
Melzer/Polansky
Hanescu/Raonic
Q/Benneteau
Djokovic

If there is a mug section, this would be it. Full of inconsistent headcases, and those coming back from injury. I could easily see Djokovic losing to Benny or winning the quarter. Baghdatis has shown good wins in Washington, but will he be tired? Milos Raonic will win a round, Verdaco will lose early. Toronto has beautiful women.

Nadal-Nalbandian

you are aware that the qualifier could be falla, kamke, golubev or chiudinelli right? these 4 guys are on fire right now and, assuming they avoid each other in the draw will probably be 4 of the ones to qualify

frankly it would suprise me if they didnt

on topic i'll go with nadal or djokovic to win the title

Very tough draw for him after the second round.
He should comfortably beat Malisse or Berrer easily, then it gets tough.
Still, I think he can do it.

Really no clear favourite here imo, could be a surprising winner like earlier this year.

I have no idea who's going to win RC this year. It's very open imo. Looking at the draw though it's obvious that the bottom half is the easiest. So I guess that means that guys like Federer, Djokovic and Berdych all have a good chance to win it. I think we also need to look out for Youzhny and Melzer as obvious outsider contenders for the title.

No, this is HC.

Not Nadal, this is HC. Even with Djokovic's slump lately I'd still pick him over Rafa for the title. This is HC after all.

I went ahead and chose R Nadal, although it wouldn't stun me if it takes him a week to get his feet wet during the USO hard court swing...

No, won't happen. Rafa will not win.

Nadal should win this quarter, but I see Cilic as more of a threat than Querrey or Roddick.

Agree on Nalby. Serious contender right there, Soderling too.

Malisse over Murray for the upset. Xavier is kickin ass recently.

Haha, only in your dreams. This will never happen, even though Xavier is doing well lately.

Federer has no excuse. Some Wimbledon revenge over Berdych could be good for the psyche.

Sure. But if he loses, he's probably "injured" again, since you know, he beats guys like Berdych if he's healthy.

If there is a mug section, this would be it. Full of inconsistent headcases, and those coming back from injury. I could easily see Djokovic losing to Benny or winning the quarter.

Haha. Really?!?!?

Baghdatis has shown good wins in Washington, but will he be tired? Milos Raonic will win a round, Verdaco will lose early. Toronto has beautiful women.

Yes, Baghdatis has a chance, though he can be tired after DC. Raonic will win nothing. Verdasco will lose early, yes. And Yes, I agree. Torontonians are lovely, the women too.

Exactly. I'm a fan but even I know Nadal isn't exactly a favorite to win, or there are other guys who are bigger favorites than Nadal. HC is his weakest surface, so.. I doubt he'll win Toronto.

Going on form, it's hard to go against Nadal for me, unless it's with the assumption that the other guys have improved. Plus he's won it twice before. 'Someone other than Nadal' as a group is more likely to win, but there isn't an individual player I'd put as favourite over him. Looking forward to it anyway, it's been a while since most of the top guys have played.
