where have all the big names gone lol?
A lot of the big names appear to have moved away from this tourney. China (running the same week) offers more points, so a lot of players are trying to get into that, and also a lot of players feel that it is too big a risk to take regarding the hurricane in Florida. Both danger-wise, as well as losing a weeks points, and travelling out there for nothing.
I have english friends on 'holiday' in florida. They planned to go for 2 weeks, and are still there: have been for over a month, they are not allowed to fly back yet. So this could prove extremely costly for a travelling pro.

Delray has never really had big names playing there, especially in the last few years when it was played the same week as Scottsdale in March. China had more points and more money for appearance fees so it got the few top ranked players that were willing to play the week after a Slam (and before Davis Cup). Since the entry deadline was 6 weeks ago, I don't know that a whole lot of players were thinking about the hurricanes then, but the ones who were on multiple alternate lists waiting to get in last week probably opted for China or Romania instead of Florida because of the uncertainty.

Yea, Fee... it's pretty funny that this tournament will be played this September and next February LOL! It'll be interesting to see if they can manage a different set of players when it goes back to it's early spring slot.
